Chapter 291
Ying Ning swung her whip, and the snake whip collided with that divine power, forcing her to retreat several steps.
She looked down and saw that the end of the snake whip was broken.
From the sand and gravel, the Qilin beast emerged once more and pounced toward Ying Ning's face!
The barrier formed by the sudden surge of demonic power sent the Qilin beast flying as it collided with the barrier set up by Si Baixue.
This time, however, the person hiding in the shadows did not test them again.
With a light wave of divine power, the entire Wanji Buddha Cave seemed to be completely swallowed by the abyss of yellow sand. The surrounding scenery disappeared, and only subtle sounds could be heard from each of the stone caves.
All the Buddha statues seemed to come alive.
They either raised their fists or wielded the Demon Halberd, attacking Ying Ning and Si Baixue together.
The vast abyss of yellow sand relentlessly compressed Si Baixue's barrier, while the ten thousand angry-looking Buddha statues, manipulated by the person behind them, shattered the demonic power he unleashed.
With a swift whip, Yingning grabbed a Buddha statue and used it to leap into the air.
"Hiding your head and showing your tail, utterly ridiculous." She dodged one Buddha statue after another, her surging power attacking the core of the Wanji Buddha Cave's formation.
This time, the barrier shattered with a deafening roar!
Just as the flying sand sword was about to strike Si Baixue, it turned into yellow sand once again, its fine grains falling to the ground.
In a trance, all the Buddha statues returned to the stone cave once again.
The Buddha statues looked at the two with compassion, their previous grim expressions completely gone.
A sneer came from somewhere unknown:
"Half-step Divine Realm?"
"I never expected there to be someone of this caliber in the Immortal Realm." The other person's voice held a hint of surprise, but more than anything, it was filled with wild laughter.
"Interesting, interesting."
The mysterious and majestic voice rang out once again.
In the dark depths of the Wanji Buddha Cave, the man's expression was ruthless. When he realized that the barrier had been broken, he was not anxious or impatient. Instead, his voice, though thousands of miles away, reached Ying Ning's ears.
“It has been too long since anyone has been able to stand up to me.” He stretched out his hand into a claw, and a distorted spatial force appeared out of thin air in the Buddhist cave a thousand miles away.
"If that's the case, then play along with me."
The large hand grabbed Ying Ning directly, and in the blink of an eye, Ying Ning's figure disappeared from the spot.
"Ah Ning!"
His demonic power swept across the surrounding yellow sand, but he could no longer sense Ying Ning's presence.
Si Baixue's expression was cold and aloof, his eyes bloodshot. He raised his hand and bit his fingertip, the power of the contract within the blood droplet guiding him in a direction.
He flew there without hesitation for a moment.

Deep within the Wanji Buddha Cave.
A fallen temple crushed half of the mountain cave, and the Buddha statues in the cave were no longer covered in dust, but were broken into pieces.
The temple had been abandoned for a long time.
The Temple of Flawless White is covered by countless spiderweb-like cracks. The divine aura of thousands of years has long since disappeared, replaced by a sinister feeling.
The once lofty temple steps are now broken and dilapidated, and no one will ever worship them again.
"How could this be?"
"Aren't you coming in?" came the voice from the temple.
Are you afraid?
The man's voice was dark, but also full of keen curiosity.
“Why would I be afraid of someone trapped in a temple?” Ying Ning raised her head and smiled, but the smile did not reach her eyes.
"Hahahaha." The man laughed heartily.
"That's really interesting."
"I have been in the Immortal Realm for a long time, how come I never discovered such an interesting person as you?" The man's fingertips tapped on the stone chair, the crisp sound like a death warrant.
"An ancient barrier, the power of the gods."
"It seems that being trapped here is quite in line with the Venerable One's status."
The moment Yingning stepped into the barrier, everything inside it changed.
Hidden within the cracks of the spiderwebs on the temple are the Heart-Refining Fireflies, shimmering with blood-red light, while on the steps, wriggle black, water-like tentacles.
The dilapidated palace gate is painted with a picture of the six mythical beasts of the wilderness.
The phoenix soared through the sky, the nine-tailed fox waved its tail on the mountaintop, and the Xuan Tian Divine Turtle emerged from the deep sea, revealing a divine beast whose appearance was obscured, hidden in the black mist.
The temple was shrouded in countless miasma.
"Very bold, I like it." A tall male figure gradually appeared from the miasma.
Outside the miasma, I could see his face clearly.
The man had an effeminate appearance, adorned with a pair of white, snake-like eyes.
He stood barefoot on the top step of the temple, his bare upper body covered by slightly curly black hair. His snake-like eyes showed no emotion when he looked at Ying Ning.
Jiu Ying looked at the woman on the steps. A blood-red red spider lily floated on her pale face. Her eyes were extremely beautiful, like water droplets that were not covered by the slightest bit of filth.
His snake-like eyes narrowed slightly.
Upon hearing Yingning speak, she said, "Venerable One, this place is truly a beautiful sight."
The faint light of the Heart-Refining Firefly danced around her, but it made no move to attack.
“A person from the underworld.” Jiu Ying revealed Ying Ning’s identity, covering his pale mouth as he suddenly realized.
"No wonder I've never seen you in the Immortal Realm."
"The underworld must be fun too."
Yingning walked up to him and said, "It's a pity that you've never been to the Underworld. If it weren't for the fact that you can't leave the temple's barrier, I wouldn't mind inviting you to go and have a look around."
Jiu Ying was amused by her, but his face was pale and lifeless.
There's a hint of unease when he laughs.
Jiu Ying lightly raised her large hand, and a divine force filled with killing intent swept towards the red spider lily blooming beside her ear.
Yingning slightly turned her body to dodge.
"As expected, he is at the half-step divine realm." After testing him, Jiu Ying did not rush to make another move.
"No wonder a few ants escaped from the Heartless Sea; I never expected them to have fled all the way to my place." His voice was soft, and his steps seemed frail and weak.
Bare feet tread on the cold temple.
He half-reclined onto a Xuanming snake chair, his pale ankles dangling.
There was nothing inside the temple.
Apart from the Xuanming Serpent Chair, there was only darkness behind him.
"Speak, come to me."
"What are you doing?" Jiu Ying glanced at Ying Ning out of the corner of her eye and saw that she was just looking around the temple with curiosity, and did not seem to have any sense of vigilance.
"What about those human disciples?" Ying Ning's fingertips twitched slightly, but she didn't summon the snake whip for the time being.
You mean...?
"Them?"
With a soft breath, Jiu Ying dispelled the darkness behind the Xuanming Serpent Chair as if gently brushed away by a large hand.
Within the enormous pit, countless Heart-Refining Fireflies danced in the air.
"Oh."
"They've all become nests for the Heart-Refining Fireflies." He feigned surprise, but was in a good mood.
"I am in a good mood today."
"Let me tell you, their spiritual roots have been devoured by me, and the bodies of mortals are far too weak."
"It's barely usable as their nest."
Jiu Ying smiled wickedly, revealing the greed in his snake-like eyes.
He looked at Yingning:
"You're not bad either."
"Why not also make a nest for the Heart-Refining Firefly?"
