Chapter 36
A woman suddenly appeared out of nowhere in the bucket of water where the little fox had been soaking!
The woman's phoenix eyes sparkled with a hint of ethereal beauty, and her stunning figure was almost entirely submerged in the water, sparking the imagination.
He was rubbing his shoulder, as if trying to relieve the pain.
"Ouch, that hurts..."
Wen Chaosheng's face flushed, and he subconsciously looked away, turning around immediately. His words were already somewhat stammering.
"I'm so sorry, I really didn't mean to look at that!"
He had just walked in, thinking something had happened to the little fox, and hadn't expected to see this scene.
"Oh? It's nothing."
The woman looked surprised, seemingly not understanding why she needed to apologize for what had just happened.
The warm water was still steaming, which drifted into the air and clung to the man who had his back to the bathtub.
Wen Chaosheng calmed himself down and then realized what was wrong.
"When did you come in?"
"Excuse me... have you seen a little fox?"
The little fox disappeared, and then a strange woman suddenly appeared.
He was initially terrified by Ying Ning, but now he remembered that the little fox was nowhere to be found.
Once the question was asked,
Wen Chaosheng then heard the woman behind him speak slowly:
"Little fox? Are you talking about me?"
"What...is that?!"
Wen Chaosheng didn't dare turn around, and the astonishment in his voice was unmistakable.
"I am that little fox. Didn't you say that if I pick a water lily for you, I can exchange it for your pastries?"
She spoke again, and surprisingly, she brought up the conversation that had just taken place between the little fox and him.
"How could that be? Just now... it was clearly... the little fox..."
Wen Chaosheng subconsciously retorted.
"Yes, I am a fox, but today I have just reached the stage of transformation. If you don't believe me, look."
A sound of water.
Wen Chaosheng couldn't see, so he didn't understand what she was trying to do.
All that could be heard was a soft sound of footsteps.
He then felt a furry patch at his feet and looked down.
A little fox?!
Wen Chaosheng felt as if there was something wrong with his eyes, and he also sensed that there was no sound coming from the bucket behind him, so he could only turn his head slightly to the side.
The bucket was empty.
The woman has disappeared...
The little fox at his feet tugged at his robes again, its fox eyes sparkling with liveliness.
Wen Chaosheng understood the meaning in her eyes:
See? I am the little fox.
Wen Chaosheng was so shocked by what had just happened that he felt dizzy and lightheaded.
He didn't even notice until Ying Ning left.

When Li Ziqing returned, she saw the little fox playing with an embroidery on the curtain on the bed.
By this time, her little paws had already hooked out several threads.
Li Ziqing skillfully picked up Ying Ning, but felt that the fur on her body was a little damp.
"But where did you go to play?"
He picked up a clean handkerchief and gently wiped her fur.
"Don't go swimming when I'm not around."
Judging from her appearance, she must have run off somewhere to catch fish and swim while I was away.
Li Ziqing patiently taught her:
"You are still too young. It would be dangerous if you fell into the water."
The little fox understood his words and stopped staring blankly at him.
Instead, he picked up a jade pendant from his body and started playing with it.
Seeing that she found the jade pendant at his waist quite novel, Li Ziqing casually took it off and tied it around her neck.
"If you like it, I'll give it to you."
He patted Yingning's head and gave her his personal jade pendant.
The little fox's neck was rather thin, and the binding made it look a bit of a burden.
Seeing this, Li Ziqing took it off and let her roll around on the bed, playing with the jade pendant.

That evening, Li Ziqing's cough became even more severe.
After transforming into human form, Ying Ning gracefully walked into the inner room, casually picked up one of Li Ziqing's outer robes, and draped it over her shoulders.
When I got to the bedside, I saw his lips, which had lost their color from the cold.
"Li Ziqing was indeed ruthless enough to harm himself in order to eliminate his own thoughts."
His physical condition after the tribulation was indeed not good. After looking him over, Ying Ning circulated her spiritual power to raise the temperature around his body.
His cough subsided considerably.
In his sleep, he seemed to feel a burning body again, and thinking it was a little fox, he wrapped his arms around Yingning's arm.
Ying Ning's aura had long been accustomed to by his body over the past few days.
Even now, in human form, it hasn't aroused his suspicion.
Li Ziqing held Ying Ning's fair wrist tightly, feeling its delicate smoothness. His guard was lifted, and he fell into a deep sleep.
Until dawn.
When Li Ziqing slowly woke up, she found herself holding a slender, fair wrist in her hand.
Looking up, I saw that the owner of the snow-white wrist was a woman as beautiful as a flower, fast asleep.
Li Ziqing didn't react for a moment, immediately let go, and coughed again:
"Cough cough cough..."
"Cough cough cough..."
The cough startled the stranger awake; she was seen waking up with her brows furrowed.
Before Li Ziqing could speak, he saw the Burning Heaven Mark in her eyes.
The ancient, firework-like marks on her face added to her radiance.
Upon seeing Ying Ning, Li Ziqing felt a strange sense of familiarity well up within him.
He seems to be...
