"What about you?"
Xihe looked up at Gu Hui.
Gu Hui didn't care much: "I'll wait for you outside." Seeing that she wanted to say something, he quickly pushed her in.
Bang, closing the door: "Go in and sleep."
Outside the window of the room was a residential building. The crimson curtains were drawn. Xihe fell asleep in a short while after lying on the bed and did not wake up until the afternoon. Gu Hui had just returned from Shijia Village and when he saw her coming downstairs, he took people to eat.
Lin County is a mountain town with simple folk customs, and most of the people wear ethnic costumes.
The girl's eyes were bright, and her outstanding appearance and temperament were out of place here.
It attracts the surprised glances of passers-by from time to time.
Xihe held Gu Hui's arm, chewing something, and looked around with surprise in her big eyes. Occasionally, she would meet his gaze and smile brightly.
Her smile was bright and frank, which made the people who were peeping at her feel embarrassed and turn their heads away.
Gu Hui was in a bad mood, so he took Xihe for a walk. After a while, he used the hot weather as an excuse to find a quiet place to sit down.
The sun in the sky is warm, not scorching.
The gentle breeze rustled the leaves and brought bursts of coolness.
Xihe glanced out the window and hesitated: "Are you sure the food here is delicious?" Don't think she doesn't know, special delicacies like this are usually hidden in the streets and alleys, not in elegantly decorated restaurants.
Gu Hui remained calm: "Of course it's delicious."
The restaurant chef was very fast and the food came up not long after the two of them sat down.
When the lid of the pot is opened, a strong aroma hits your nose.
Xihe's eyes lit up instantly.
He picked up the chopsticks and took a bite. The spicy aroma of the food exploded in his mouth, stimulating his taste buds. Xihe couldn't help but give a thumbs up: "Good."
Gu Hui watched her eat with a smile in his eyes.
The sun disappeared into the clouds at some point. After dinner, Gu Hui took Xihe for a stroll along Lin County, through the narrow streets and houses with ethnic characteristics, and finally took her to her former primary school.
On a quiet afternoon, several teenagers were playing basketball on the court, sweating profusely.
The walls of the three-story teaching building are mottled, the doors and windows are locked, and even the canteen is closed. Only the bright red flags flutter in the wind and birds fly across the sky.
Xihe sighed: "So you studied here before."
The doors and windows were closed and covered with dust.
The shouts of students could be heard from afar. Gu Hui had no attachment to this school. He casually pointed to Xihe's former class and pulled her away.
On the sidewalk, a few teenagers were walking towards us.
She stared at him in surprise for a while, then suddenly shouted excitedly, "Brother Gu!"
He rushed over, hugged Gu Hui's shoulders, and was so excited that he couldn't express it in words.
"Brother Gu, when did you come back? Why didn't you contact us brothers? I haven't seen you for a long time." He turned around and saw a smiling girl holding hands with their Brother Gu.
My face flushed, I gasped, and I didn't know what to say.
"haven't seen you for a long time."
Seeing his former brother, Gu Hui smiled.
Several teenagers, about seventeen or eighteen years old, had dyed blond hair and wore ripped clothes. Only one of them was wearing a school uniform, carrying a backpack. His clean face made him look particularly well-behaved compared to the other three.
Xihe couldn't help but take a few more glances.
Gu Hui introduced: "This is Xiang Yuan." The boy blushed slightly and called her sister-in-law.
Several teenagers: Flatterer.
Since his girlfriend was leaving the next day, the two of them had very little time to spend together. Gu Hui simply said hello to the teenagers before parting ways, agreeing to meet up again in a few days.
As the sun sets, the town lights up with thousands of lights.
Xihe walked for a whole day and his feet were so tired that he sat on a chair by the roadside and said he didn't want to walk anymore.
Gu Hui: “…”
Resigned to his fate, he squatted down and said, "Come up."
Xihe was instantly surprised: "Is it okay?"
The most intimate contact they had with each other till now was a light kiss on the forehead. On weekdays, they would hold hands at most, or Xihe would shamelessly hold Gu Hui's arm.
Carry her on your back? Xihe couldn't help but cover her face shyly.
Gu Hui's ears turned red: "Do you want to come up or not?"
"Up, up, up."
He pounced on him and hung on the boy.
Gu Hui put his hands through the girl's legs and slowly stood up with her on his back.
Xihe's vision suddenly broadened.
The young man carried Xihe on his back as if he were nothing, walking steadily along the street, with the chirping voices of girls in his ears.
"That smells delicious. Should we buy some to eat?"
"That glutinous rice cake looks delicious."
Back at the hotel, Gu Hui stood in the corridor: "You go in."
Xihe had always known that this guy, though seemingly cold on the surface, was actually a complete old-fashioned person. He didn't expect him to stay overnight. It would be better to send him back early, so that the journey would be safer.
Xihe said, "Be careful on your way back and call me when you get home."
Gu Hui nodded: "Yeah."
I opened the door, went in, took off my clothes and took a shower.
There was a hint of chill in Lin County at night. After wiping his hair, Xihe took out his computer and wrote down the specialty shops he saw today. The computer was brightly lit, and he was busy with tables and prices for more than half an hour before he stretched and got up.
Pah, a mosquito.
Xihe's shoulders slumped. Well, it seems I have to go out and buy some mosquito coils.
He put on a coat and opened the door. Bang! The young man in front of the door suddenly fell to the ground and then stood up hurriedly.
Xihe: ???
A question mark slowly appeared in my mind: "Gu Hui?"
Looking him up and down, he was still wearing the same clothes as this morning, looking like he had just woken up.
"you……"
Look at him, then look at the door. What else don't you understand?
"Are you planning to stay here with me all night?"
Gu Hui neither admitted nor denied it. He scratched his hair and changed the subject: "Why did you open the door so late? Don't you know it's dangerous?" He was extremely grateful that he was here tonight.
Lin County is a small place. Although the people are simple and honest, there are still many people like Uncle Li Er.
Leaving his delicate girlfriend to live alone in the county town? Gu Hui had never thought of this idea at all. He must stay here and guard her.
Xihe reacted and immediately said aggrievedly: "There are mosquitoes."
She stretched out her fair and tender arm under the boy's eyes, and sure enough, there was a small red bump on her arm.
Gu Hui put on his coat: "I'm going to buy mosquito coils."
The boy bought the mosquito coils very quickly and came back with sweat all over his forehead. Xihe felt distressed when he saw his sweaty appearance.
Xihe pulled the man into the room without saying a word and closed the door.
Gu Hui's eyes widened, and he immediately wanted to open the door. How could he get in here? What if he couldn't control his beastly heart?
Xihe took off the mosquito coils and said, "If you dare to go out, I will sleep outside tonight too."
Gu Hui: "...Jiang Mo, stop making trouble,"
Xihe looked up: "I'm not making a fuss, go to the bathroom and take a shower." Thinking of his old-fashioned temperament, she continued, "Don't worry, I will definitely not peek at you."
