"Good afternoon, Miss Frigga."
The young man took off his hat and saluted gracefully.
Xihe's gaze lingered on the gentle smile on his face for two seconds before she looked away and passed by him. The man followed him slowly, "Ms. Frigga, I heard you haven't decided what to plant next season?"
"What suggestions does Mr. Ireland have?"
The summer breeze was blowing, and slaves were busy picking cotton in the cotton fields, while the old housekeeper was giving orders.
Xihe was thinking about what to grow to make more money. A whole family including slaves would be a considerable expense. How could he afford it just by growing soybeans?
"Your land is fertile, why not grow grapes and make wine?"
Xihe turned around in surprise and met Ailande's smiling eyes. His blue pupils were as deep as the gentle sea. He said, "Wine has always been a long-lasting product of this land, and it is shipped far and wide both domestically and internationally. If you grow grapes, you shouldn't have any trouble selling them."
This land is ideal for grape production, both in terms of climate and soil conditions.
Xihe certainly knew this, after all, Leicester also got a share of the profits, but the problem was that the Seymour family became rich from old Hoga, and their ancestors were ordinary civilians, and they had no grape-growing technology at all.
She told the truth about her predicament.
Ailand was a little surprised. Jier smiled and said, "That's not difficult. I once saw a large landowner planting grapes while traveling. If Miss Frigga is willing, I can do my best to help you."
His words were sincere, but Xihe was shocked. Are people in this world so helpful?
She looked him up and down. There was a smile on the corner of Ireland's mouth, and his body was straight and upright, as elegant and decent as an old-fashioned aristocratic gentleman.
This was his fifth day at Lant Manor, and for some reason the person who was supposed to leave had not left yet.
Thinking that there didn't seem to be anything worth plotting against him, Xihe agreed.
Ireland took her hand and pecked her softly, "Ms. Frigga, you are such a kind and lovely lady."
When the cold lips fell on the warm back of his hand, Xihe felt creepy instantly and her scalp felt like it was exploding. She subconsciously pulled her hand back and looked at him in surprise and suspicion, as if something was wrong!
Ireland's eyes were full of doubt: "Miss Frigga?"
Xihe rubbed the back of his hand, and the feeling disappeared again.
She shook her head and glanced at him quickly: "You go talk to the housekeeper about the grape planting. I'm leaving first." She turned and hurried back to the room.
Behind him, the man standing under the tree smiled.
His thin lips curled slightly, revealing his sharp white teeth. A strange red light quickly flashed across his deep blue eyes. The floating wind stopped in an instant, and even the birds were frightened and dared not move.
There was a glint of amusement in his eyes: "What a sensitive little fellow."
He glanced at the scorching sun overhead, then saw the slaves toiling away in the distance. His brows furrowed in disbelief. Tsk, he even had to come in person...
Back in the room, Xihe sat in front of the mirror: "Dog, did you notice?"
After calling twice, the dog finally woke up drowsily: "What, what happened? What happened?"
Xihe: "...What use do I have for you!"
In the following days, she kept staring at Ireland, but did not find anything wrong. Instead, she felt that this guy was not only humorous and knowledgeable, which made the old housekeeper admire him very much, but even the skinny children in the manor showed a toothless smile when they saw him.
Xihe was depressed. Could it be that she was wrong?
"Miss Frigga, what are you thinking about?"
A deep and pleasant male voice sounded in my ears.
Xihe froze for a moment, then quickly relaxed. Smiling, she turned around and said, "Ailander, weren't you discussing buying seedlings with the housekeeper? Why are you here?"
Ireland sat down on the chair and looked at the bright and gorgeous roses outside the house with her. In the distance were fields that had been harvested, revealing the red soil, and slaves were holding hoes and constantly renovating the land.
This was proposed by Xihe. Before, they would dig a small hole and sow the seeds in it.
It was tiring work, of course, but Xihe improved everyone's food, ensuring that the slaves had enough to eat and wear warmly. He also allowed them to drink at night, so the slaves worked very enthusiastically.
"We've already discussed everything. The housekeeper asked me to ask you if you would like to personally go and take your uncle home."
He picked up the wine on the table and poured himself a glass very naturally. He drank it and sighed comfortably, "Miss Frigga, I can't believe that someone as beautiful and lovely as you would do such a thing as driving your uncles away."
Xihe looked at him expressionlessly. Is this guy here to cause trouble?
Of course, Ireland was not there to cause trouble. He just felt that the guest room was too dark and narrow, and he wanted to move to a bigger room.
He looked around and pointed to the room next to Xihe's bedroom. There was an old camphor tree in front of the window, allowing sunlight to shine in all day long. "Can I live in this room?"
Xihe: “…”
Does he know what politeness is?
But the other party helped her so much and just wanted to live in a good room, so why should she refuse?
Ireland successfully moved to the second floor. He ordered the servants to change his bed into a thin velvet quilt, and placed old Hoja's collection of antiques in the storage room throughout the room, and cleaned the bathroom spotlessly.
The servants were so tired that they were out of breath. Ireland finally nodded reluctantly and waved his hand for them to leave.
Xihe stood by the door. One had to admit that this guy had pretty good taste, full of European aristocratic air. He was tall and had long legs, standing by the window, and the large blooming roses outside the house made him look even more gorgeous and luxurious.
"Ms. Frigga, I am very satisfied."
