Chapter 189,/.

"Baby? Do you have a dog at home?"

His roommate looked surprised: "Doesn't your mother dislike cats and dogs?" He remembered that the last time he took his golden retriever out to play, it was disliked.

Yan Ke was furious: "Shut up! I'm not talking about small animals!"

He turned his head quietly to look at the living room. The girl was buried in a book, wearing a goose yellow plush pajamas, with soft eyebrows and eyes. He whispered into the phone: "I'm talking about the girl I like."

My roommate suddenly remembered: "The one where you asked me to deliver food last time?"

Yan Ke nodded, the corner of his mouth raised: "It's her."

My roommate was furious. He ripped off his headset and stopped playing the game. "Are you crazy? Didn't I tell you last time not to get involved with her? Why did you go to her again? And... you just said you were doing laundry?"

Yan Ke hummed, then said seriously, "Don't talk about her like that. She's very nice, she..."

"She's lying to you!"

The roommate was speechless and paced around the room in anger: "Washing clothes! Yan Ke, are you crazy? When have you ever done this since you were a child? Come back quickly, this woman is obviously not a good person. If she asked you to wash clothes today, she will ask you to do it next time... Hey, hey, hey? Fuck!"

Yan Ke hung up the phone directly with a somewhat ugly look on his face.

The washing machine rumbled, and light snow fell outside the window. He turned his head and stared at the girl in the room. Uncontrollably, his anger gradually subsided. It didn't matter what others thought. He just felt that she was worth it. It was just...

Rumble, squeak—

The washing machine stopped, Yan Ke opened it, took out the washed quilts and clothes and hung them up to dry.

The boy was tall and had long legs. He would bend down and stand up from time to time. A few snowflakes blew through the half-open window and landed on his soft hair. After Yan Ke finished hanging up, he closed the window, opened the balcony door and walked into the house. The warm air hit him in the face.

Xihe had just finished writing a chapter, stretched, turned around, and their eyes met.

Yan Ke's heart moved, he took two steps forward, knelt in front of her and asked, "Are you tired?" His hand was on the sofa beside her. From a distance, he looked like a knight looking up at his princess.

He was not wearing a coat, just a simple brown sweater, his hair was fluffy, and his temperament was simple.

Xihe looked away and said 'hmm'.

The next second, the figure in front of her moved, and the boy sat down beside her, putting his hand on her shoulder: "Can I rub it for you?" He asked in a questioning tone, and his hand began to knead gently.

Xihe paused, then turned to look at him. The boy's eyes curved, "I just learned this. Would you like to try it?"

His smile was stiff and unnatural, and the hand on his shoulder was trembling slightly. It was obvious that he was not as calm as he appeared.

Xihe turned his face away and didn't say no. Yan Ke was delighted and suddenly his whole body was filled with joy. He pressed harder.

Apart from the day they met, this was the closest they had ever been.

Although Xihe usually didn't say anything unpleasant and didn't show disgust on her face, her expression was indifferent and she just looked at him coldly, so even if Yan Ke had any thoughts, they disappeared.

After dinner, Yan Ke hesitated: "Tomorrow is New Year's Eve, and I have guests at home. I might have to come a little late..."

Xihe didn't even raise her head: "No, you can be at home, no need to come over." She lowered her head to read a book, the orange light shining on her face, one side was in shadow and the other side was in light, so her expression could not be seen clearly.

Yan Ke was speechless for a moment, and the words he wanted to say were stuck in his throat.

She always had this ability. Just a word or a look could make him feel infinitely frustrated. She was like an ice-covered valley, keeping people thousands of miles away. He could never get close to her.

Yan Ke pursed his lips, put down his coat, walked to the sofa and squatted down:

"Don't you like dumplings? My grandma makes them really well. I'll ask her to make some more tomorrow and bring them to you then, okay? Celery and pork, leeks and eggs, everything."

One should not be too greedy. He has already entered her life and should be satisfied.

Yan Ke's mouth corners rose slightly, and he looked at Xihe intently with eyes full of tenderness. He did the best he could and left the rest to her.

Xihe removed his hand and faced the sofa: "No need."

Yan Ke's smile froze for a moment. After a while, he went into the bedroom, took out a thin blanket and covered Xihe with it. He said "good night", put on his coat, closed the door and left.

The next day, the whole city was filled with the sound of firecrackers.

Xihe hadn't woken up in the morning when her phone kept ringing. She saw that it was a message from Yan Ke saying that breakfast had arrived, so she got up and opened the door.

The boy outside the door had wet hair and a red nose. He smiled and said, "Breakfast!"

Xihe: "...Didn't you say it would be later?"

She opened the door and let someone in, but Yan Ke didn't come in. He looked at her and said, "You eat. I'll go home to help. I'll come over when you're done." He handed the meal to her and closed the door.

Xihe couldn't help but look out the window. There were clouds flying everywhere and noisy sounds coming from next door.

She suddenly felt a little lonely. She raised her hand slightly, and the dog, who was snoring in his sleep, suddenly rolled to the ground. "What's wrong? What's wrong?"

He looked around, found no danger, and immediately rolled his eyes: "What are you doing?"

He got up, looked around, and jumped directly onto the sofa. Suddenly, his nose moved, and he smelled the aroma of food. He looked at the table and said, "Is this for me?"

Xihe went to the bathroom to wash up: "Don't think about it, this is mine!"

The dog's eyes widened instantly, and he barked at the top of his lungs: "If you don't give me food or water, then why did you get me out here? No, I want to eat!"

He jumped onto the table, opened the thermal box directly, and picked up a bun.

Xihe ran out, immediately furious: "What if you eat me?"

The dog whimpered and took another bite, "Let's eat together! I'm not like some people who only eat alone!"

Xihe was speechless and choked, thinking to himself, "You're just a dog, how could I possibly eat with you?" However, in just a few minutes, two or three buns were in the dog's stomach again.

Xihe:!!!

He rushed forward and snatched back the thermal box: "Are you a starving ghost reincarnated?"

After eating and drinking, the man and the dog lazily lay on the sofa. The dog wagged its tail leisurely, its smooth fur shining. It licked its fur and said, "Why are you working so hard?"

Instead of working so hard every day for a little money, why not just go into finance?

It's not dangerous and you can make money quickly.

Xihe typed rapidly: "So that's why you are a dog. You don't understand higher creatures like humans."

Gouzi: “…”

He instantly exploded, baring his teeth. "Just speak, why attack me personally? What's wrong with dogs? Dogs are cute and loyal, how can they be inferior to humans? Besides, am I a dog? I'm a demon, a demon!"

Xihe: "Oh," he said, "Is this the devil who eats and sleeps, and then eats and sleeps?"

Gouzi stared at Xihe, panting: "Say it again!"

"Believe me or not, I..."
