Lin Zhenzhen slowly closed her eyes only after the familiar footsteps finally echoed in the corridor.
The door was kicked open.
The sturdy wooden door, locked from the inside, crumbled under Yu Jiamu's feet.
He was the first to rush in.
Upon seeing the contents of the room, Yu Jiamu abruptly stopped in his tracks.
"Oh my god." Wang Jingrou covered her mouth, and tears immediately streamed down her face.
The girl lay in the middle of the large bed, her hair disheveled and her clothes barely covering her body.
Next to her lay a naked man; anyone with eyes could see what had happened there.
"Ling Zhen, wake up."
Wang Jingrou gently called her name, but the little girl's eyes were tightly closed, as if she had lost consciousness.
"What should we do?" Wang Jingrou turned to look at Yu Jiamu, only to find that his face was as pale as a sheet of paper, and his tall body was swaying precariously, as if he would collapse at any moment.
He stood there, as if afraid of something, hesitant to go forward.
"No matter what, call the police first." Wang Jingrou took out her phone, but Yu Jiamu pressed it down on her hand.
"What are you doing?" Wang Jingrou asked urgently. "Can't you tell that the girl was forced?"
"I know." Yu Jiamu's voice was hoarse beyond belief, and his gaze lingered on Chi Kaifeng for a second.
"I will kill him."
This calm tone sent shivers down Wang Jingrou's spine.
Yu Jiamu lowered his eyes and touched Lin Zhenzhen's forehead with trembling hands.
He recoiled as if he'd been electrocuted.
Wang Jingrou watched as he took off his coat and covered Lin Zhenzhen with it, then picked her up and carried her horizontally.
Yu Jiamu remained silent throughout, his movements as gentle as if he were handling the most fragile treasure in the world.
