Chapter 308 The Unattainable Beauty, the Pure-Hearted CEO VS The Scheming, Weak, and Dramatic Green Tea Girl (40 chapters)

The two got out of the car and headed straight for the fresh food supermarket on the basement floor.

Today is a day off, so Huo Yeshuo isn't wearing formal attire. He's dressed casually in a white shirt, black straight-leg trousers, and a pair of understated limited-edition sneakers.

This version of Huo Yeshuo has less of a serious, distant feel and more of the vitality that matches his age.

Lin Zhenzhen recalled the profile she had read before: Huo Yeshuo graduated with a master's degree at the age of twenty, returned to China at the age of twenty-one, took over Kangkong Pharmaceutical at the age of twenty-two, and has been in business for four years now, but is only twenty-six years old.

Although such a life resume is considered by the world to be a winning start, with all the buffs of a life winner stacked up.

But Lin Zhenzhen knew the truth behind the elites; he was more tired than anyone else.

She works and lives according to a strict schedule every day, as precise as a machine. Although she is only in her early twenties, she has to put on a mature appearance that is not commensurate with her age.

Lin Zhenzhen had heard from other employees that Huo Yeshuo had never taken a vacation in the past four years. He was like an iron man, never getting tired or sick.

When others mentioned this, their tone was full of admiration.

Lin Zhenzhen was different from them; upon hearing all this, she only felt heartache.

Noticing that the person behind him hadn't followed for a long time, Huo Yeshuo stopped and turned his head to look.

The girl stood still, staring intently at herself. The white light shone on her, creating a hazy, misty effect.

Huo Yeshuo paused for a moment, then removed his right hand from the handle of the cart.

His beautiful, slender fingers were slightly spread apart, his palm curved towards her, his intentions clear.

Lin Zhenzhen chuckled softly, quickly walked to Huo Yeshuo's side, and looked up into his eyes: "What do you mean by extending your hand?"

Huo Yeshuo coughed lightly, sounding a little awkward: "There are a lot of people, don't get separated."

Lin Zhenzhen teased him on purpose: "I'm not a child anymore, how could I get lost? Besides, even if I did get lost, I would call you."

Huo Yeshuo pursed his lips, and his large hand, which had been frozen in mid-air, slowly withdrew. Lin Zhenzhen quickly grabbed him.

She wrapped her fingers around Huo Yeshuo's hand: "But I think it's not necessary to go through all that trouble. It's best to do it this way."

Huo Yeshuo lowered his eyes, his gaze sweeping over their tightly clasped hands. His ears immediately burned, merging with the reddened nape of his neck.

Lin Zhenzhen, however, was not about to let him off the hook. She leaned closer and deliberately asked, "Is this okay?"

Huo Yeshuo did not answer, but instead forcefully squeezed his fingers between Lin Zhenzhen's fingers, holding them tightly so that their palms were pressed together without leaving a gap.

"I think this is better."

Lin Zhenzhen puffed out her cheeks, and the wind blowing from the refrigerated display case of yogurt next to her made the ends of her hair fly wildly.

With round eyes and a mouth pursed into a straight line, she looked like a puffed-up pufferfish, but not from anger, but from embarrassment.

Huo Yeshuo held her hand and walked confidently through every corner of the supermarket.

The condiment section, the fresh produce section, the fruit section, and finally the snack section.

Lin Zhenzhen looked at the shopping cart that was already overflowing and shook her arm, saying, "I already have a lot, let's not buy any more."

Huo Yeshuo tilted his head: "Don't you like snacks?"

"I like it, but there's already so much food here, how can I eat all of it?"

Huo Yeshuo, however, led her further inside: "I bought it and left it at home. You can eat it next time you come."

Lin Zhenzhen belatedly realized that Huo Yeshuo had said yesterday that he wanted to pursue her, but she didn't seem to have agreed yet.

Lost in thought, Huo Yeshuo picked up a bag of potato chips and shoved it in front of Lin Zhenzhen: "Do you like these?"

"It's alright. But I prefer that brand."

Huo Yeshuo looked in the direction she was pointing, reached out and grabbed two bags from the top shelf, about to throw them into his shopping cart.

"Wait," Lin Zhenzhen stopped him. "I don't like this flavor. I want tomato flavor."

Upon hearing this, Huo Yeshuo turned his head away, his expression instantly becoming somewhat indescribable.

"What's wrong?"

"It's okay." Although he hesitated for a moment, Huo Yeshuo still turned his hand and replaced it with Lin Zhenzhen's favorite tomato-flavored potato chips.

After a haphazard shopping spree, Lin Zhenzhen pulled Huo Yeshuo away from the supermarket, leaving him with three large, full bags.

Huo Yeshuo carried one bag in each hand, leaving only the last bag containing snacks, which was relatively light.

Lin Zhenzhen stepped forward, but before her hand could even touch the plastic bag, Huo Yeshuo gently brushed it away.

With a flick of his index finger, he lifted up the remaining pockets as well.

"Give me something." Lin Zhenzhen chased after him. "I'll feel guilty if I don't do anything."

Huo Yeshuo stopped and looked at her with a half-smile.

"You really want my help?"

"Um!"

Huo Yeshuo bent down, reached into the bag, took something out, and handed it to Lin Zhenzhen.

"Take this; consider it a favor."

Lin Zhenzhen reached out and took it, then looked at it closely.

It turned out to be the strawberry-flavored lollipop that Huo Yeshuo had casually grabbed while checking out at the supermarket.
