Behind the manor is a huge garden, and further in there is a small gate made of iron fence.
The location was secluded, and apart from the gardeners who came and went from the manor on weekdays, almost no one knew about it.
Because Lu Yangyun was holding his engagement banquet, this exit was also locked.
Lin Zhenzhen was holding a plate of half-eaten cake when she watched a dark figure fall from the high wall.
She took a few steps forward and, using the streetlight, could see the person's face clearly.
He Xiaoxiao hugged her knees and lay prostrate in the newly renovated garden, her face covered in mud, looking as disheveled as a dog that had been kicked twice.
Lin Zhenzhen showed no surprise, simply saying calmly, "Miss He, since you're here for the banquet, why didn't you come through the main entrance?"
He Xiaoxiao looked up, a hint of embarrassment flashing across her face at being caught in her predicament.
"I... I just wanted to see him." Her voice trembled violently, and her eyes were red and swollen, clearly from a good cry.
"Who are you looking at? Lu Yangyun, or his fiancée?"
Seeing that she hesitated, Lin Zhenzhen smiled and said, "But I think that no matter what you think, neither of them wants to see you."
He Xiaoxiao's face drained of all color in an instant.
She gazed at the bustling crowd in the distance, her left hand supporting her on the ground, her right hand tightly guarding her lower abdomen, her expression becoming somewhat dazed.
"However, today is indeed Brother Yangyun's big day. If you're here to give him your blessings, I can help you."
Lin Zhenzhen spoke calmly, with a faint smile playing on her lips.
He Xiaoxiao looked up at her, and for a moment, she was even unsure of the true thoughts of the person in front of her.
"How could you..." she paused, "...don't you love him very much?"
"You were just saying that I'm so indifferent, right?"
Lin Zhenzhen did not answer whether she loved Lu Yangyun. Instead, she squatted down, looked into He Xiaoxiao's eyes, and asked her question instead.
"Do you love Lu Yangyun?"
"I, I won't..." He Xiaoxiao wanted to refuse, but she couldn't control the urge to cry after saying just two words.
She buried her head, sobbing softly, her chest rising and falling slightly. Even as she wiped away the tears with her right hand, she couldn't keep the tears on both cheeks at the same time, while her left hand remained pressed tightly against her lower abdomen.
Lin Zhenzhen knew that she was a gentle person by nature, but her becoming so sentimental and easily angered must be related to the hormonal changes after becoming pregnant.
Lin Zhenzhen eventually softened her heart.
She decided to hand over the reins of the plot development to He Xiaoxiao.
“I’ll give you two choices. One is to leave here right now, go back and get a good night’s sleep, and forget about Lu Yangyun when you wake up tomorrow morning, and start a new life.”
"Secondly, I'll call him over for you. Whether you want to say goodbye or try to persuade him to stay, you can make things clear with him face to face."
Lin Zhenzhen was observing He Xiaoxiao's expression as she spoke. Although she hadn't spoken yet, her eyes had already given her an answer.
Sure enough, two seconds later, He Xiaoxiao bit her lower lip and said, "I want to see him."
Lin Zhenzhen sighed expressionlessly. She straightened up, thought for a moment, and then handed the small cake she was holding to He Xiaoxiao.
"Eat something to replenish your energy."
As soon as He Xiaoxiao raised her hand, she heard the other person's voice, tinged with pity.
"Otherwise, I'm afraid you won't be able to handle it and will faint."

At the banquet, glasses clinked and toasts were exchanged.
Lin Zhenzhen held a cup of warm lemon water, looking like a little white rabbit who had accidentally wandered into the depths of the forest, her eyes filled with unconcealed panic.
She called out to a passing waiter: "Excuse me, do you know where Huo Yeshuo is?"
The well-trained waiter said, "You mean Mr. Huo? I saw him in the reception room ten minutes ago. Would you like me to take you there?"
Lin Zhenzhen shook her head: "No need, thank you."
The waiter nodded and walked away.
Lin Zhenzhen turned her gaze to Lu Yangyun, who was standing in front of the pool, holding a champagne glass in one hand and his beautiful fiancée in the other.
Lu Yangyun had obviously noticed Lin Zhenzhen's presence, and while talking to the others, he looked in her direction several times.
Lin Zhenzhen held a water glass, her eyes hidden by her bangs, making it impossible to see her expression.
Lu Yangyun was starting to panic. He watched as Lin Zhenzhen approached him and finally stopped fifty meters away.
His fiancée whispered in his ear, "Yang Yun, I'm going to say hello to Uncle Lu."
Lu Yangyun's attention was entirely on Lin Zhenzhen, and he responded absentmindedly.
But soon, he saw Lin Zhenzhen move her feet, seemingly going to find his fiancée who had just left.
Lu Yangyun broke out in a cold sweat and, disregarding the other guests around him, rushed forward to block Lin Zhenzhen's path.
"Xiao Zhen, what brings you here?"
Lin Zhenzhen stopped in her tracks, her brows furrowing slightly, her eyes glistening with tears: "Brother Yangyun, are you really getting engaged?"
Her voice was low, but the sight of the two of them standing together still attracted a lot of attention.
"This is not the place to talk. Go back first, and I will give you an explanation later."
Lu Yangyun wore a polite smile and even took a step back to create some distance between himself and Lin Zhenzhen, making it appear as if they were simply having a normal conversation.
"Brother Yangyun, don't be afraid, I won't make a fuss." Lin Zhenzhen's voice was very nasal. "I just have some things I want to ask you in person."
She lowered her head, revealing her slightly trembling shoulder blades and the pearly sheen that ran down her skin.
"I'll wait for you in the back garden."
