"That's good. I thought you'd be unhappy because of Gong Yao." Li Huiran's face turned slightly red. "Actually, he's not as bad as others say. He's very kind-hearted."
(How did you figure that out?)
"Yeah?"
“It’s true, because I live on the same street as Gong Yao. I run into him from time to time. You must find it hard to believe, right? He’s a completely different person at home and at school.”
(How come it's completely two different laws?)
"It's really hard to imagine."
What Lin Zhenzhen wanted to say was completely different from what she actually said.
She clearly wanted to continue following the other person's words to obtain more information about Gong Yao.
But her mouth seemed to have its own thoughts, only showing a lack of interest.
As expected, seeing that Lin Zhenzhen was not interested in Gong Yao, Li Huiran did not continue the topic.
Suddenly, an unidentified object flew past Lin Zhenzhen's eyes.
The once-oversized school uniform was crumpled and tossed carelessly at her feet.
"Oops, sorry, classmate, my hand slipped and I threw it off course."
Gong Yao's voice remained clear, with a hint of ambiguous laughter mixed in.
He strode past Lin Zhenzhen like a nimble cheetah.
The sunlight shone on him, giving his sweat-soaked, wheat-colored skin a strange, shimmering golden glow.
Lin Zhenzhen stared at his back, remained silent for two seconds, then ignored the school uniform and walked towards the teaching building.
-
Lin Zhenzhen could clearly sense that "she" disliked Gong Yao very much.
That's right, she wasn't referring to herself in the real sense, but to this body, the girl in this little world called Lin Zhenzhen.
Now she was basically certain that this was not one of the quick transmigration worlds she had conquered in the past.
There are several points of doubt.
First, although the names of the characters I've played in the past are very similar to mine, there has never been a case of having the same name.
Secondly, the system disappeared, leaving no coherent plot introduction; all the information flashed through her mind in scattered fragments. There was no main quest; she was completely lost and had no idea what to do.
Third, the calendar shows today as September 1, 2010. This method of dating doesn't seem like a fictional setting; it feels like a real world. At least it aligns with the era Lin Zhenzhen herself lived through.
Fourth, and most importantly, Lin Zhenzhen lost control of this body.
She was like a bystander watching a play, completely detached from the plot, almost entirely passive and forced to lie down.
Lin Zhenzhen sighed inwardly and stepped into the office.
The man looked up, revealing a pair of clear, watery eyes hidden behind his silver-rimmed glasses.
Lin Zhenzhen felt her mood instantly brighten, and even her steps became much lighter.
(It seems that "I" really like this teacher.)
"Xiao Zhen, congratulations on becoming the class monitor."
"But I still want to remind you, don't forget, class officers are there to serve the class and your classmates. Don't always bury yourself in your studies, try to integrate with everyone as soon as possible, understand?"
Lin Zhenzhen lowered her head and softly replied, "I understand, Dad."
(Oh, it's Dad.)
"Yes." Lin Simiao smiled gently. "At school, you should call me Teacher Lin."
"Okay, Teacher Lin."
Lin Simiao looked at her sensible and well-behaved daughter and nodded with satisfaction: "There are still a few students who haven't handed in their recess essays. Go and urge them to do so for me."
"All right."
Lin Zhenzhen turned and walked towards the classroom, and immediately saw the boy sleeping in the last row.
Gong Yao let out a big yawn.
Because he had to spend his days at the hospital taking care of his grandmother, he could only go out to work at night to earn money.
He slept for less than three hours a day, and this continued for a whole summer vacation until Gong Yao finally managed to raise enough money for the surgery.
I was already sleep-deprived, and with the strenuous exercise I just did, I wasn't exactly tired, but I was definitely incredibly sleepy.
He randomly pulled something out of the drawer, put it over his head, and planned to lean against the table to rest for a while.
Just as Gong Yao was about to drift off to sleep, an external force suddenly flipped open the book, and the incandescent light shone directly into his eyelids.
A curse word stuck in his throat. Gong Yao opened his eyes angrily, only to be met with a beautiful, fair face.
Lin Zhenzhen flipped through the pages of the comic book in her hand, her eyes widening as if she were getting angry.
Then she stretched out her arm, her small, slightly pink palm placed straight in front of Gong Yao.
"Please hand in your Chinese homework. Also, please don't bring these kinds of extracurricular books to school; they'll disturb other students."
Lin Zhenzhen's voice was soft and sweet, and although she tried to be as harsh as possible, it still posed no threat to the notorious bad student in front of her.
Gong Yao stared at the hands, the nails were neatly trimmed, just like the person himself, old-fashioned and boring.
The middle finger still had traces of blue and red ink, presumably from when the teacher had just finished grading homework.
Gong Yao rested his chin on his hand, his eyelids drooping lazily, and a slight smile on his lips.
"Class monitor, you've got it wrong. I never hand in my homework. Also, I read these books by myself. I don't lend them to other students, so it won't bother anyone else."
When he said this, Lin Zhenzhen lowered her eyes and stared at him. Even after he finished speaking the last word, Lin Zhenzhen was still staring at him intently.
