Chapter 376 The Final Chapter 25

She exclaimed in surprise, "Really, you're so hot!"

"How could you..." Gong Yao's ears instantly turned bright red.

"?"

"How could you..." Gong Yao originally wanted to say, "How could you touch me like that?"

Just as it was about to touch my lips, I suddenly realized something was off.

So the sentence became: "How can you touch other people like that?"

Lin Zhenzhen blinked and said innocently, "I'm sorry."

Gong Yao immediately changed his tune: "That's not what I meant."

Lin Zhenzhen lowered her head, as if she was sulking.

Gong Yao frowned, suddenly at a loss for what to do.

"Didn't you say that? If you don't believe me, just touch it and see?" Lin Zhenzhen's voice was a little soft.

Gong Yao took a while to react: "When did I say that? I clearly just now..."

He sighed somewhat irritatedly: "Never mind, let's not talk about this. Your hands... seem a little cold? Are you feeling cold?"

Lin Zhenzhen looked up at the other person.

She wore a long-sleeved dress today, paired with flesh-colored bodysuits and white sneakers.

To be fair, this outfit is truly awful.

But Lin Zhenzhen seems to be someone who doesn't care much about dressing up. Rather than saying she lacks aesthetic sense, it's more accurate to say that she simply doesn't care about it.

It's like the more beautiful a person is, the less they care about their appearance.

Because beauty is commonplace and easily attainable for them; they can amaze others simply by putting on a burlap sack, and their beauty is effortless.

Judging from the wardrobe full of hoodies and jeans, it's clear that "Lin Zhenzhen's" dressing principle has always been to prioritize comfort.

Even though her outfit today looks a bit dowdy, it's already been carefully put together by her.

A girl who was always carefree and indifferent to dressing up suddenly started picking out clothes from the mirror.

It's just because today is the day I'm meeting him.

"Class monitor." Gong Yao stopped and looked down at her, his usually somewhat arrogant eyebrows furrowed into a knot.

"Huh?" Lin Zhenzhen snapped back to reality, her eyes still somewhat dazed.

The two had already reached the bus stop. It wasn't rush hour, and there were only a few cars on the road.

"Are you really okay? Why do you seem to be lost in thought while we're walking? Are you feeling unwell?"

Lin Zhenzhen smiled and said, "I'm not feeling unwell. I probably didn't sleep well last night."

Gong Yao pursed his lips and handed her the school uniform jacket: "Put it on, don't catch a cold."

"Okay." Lin Zhenzhen did feel that her hands and feet were a little cold. This was probably a common problem for girls. She herself had experienced the same thing before.

Lin Zhenzhen slowly put on the school uniform that belonged to Gong Yao.

It was already a loose-fitting style, and the size was way too big.

The hem of the school uniform almost completely covered the dress, making it look from a distance as if she was only wearing this jacket.

Just as she was struggling with how to dress a little more normally, a laugh suddenly rang out beside her.

Lin Zhenzhen looked up: "What's wrong?"

"It's nothing, I just didn't expect to see you in your high school uniform again."

The bus stopped, and Gong Yao let her get on first while he folded up the umbrella behind her.

Lin Zhenzhen squeezed into the last row and sat down by the window, and Gong Yao quickly followed.

Is that strange?

"Um?"

"I said, do I look weird wearing a high school uniform?"

“Not surprising.” Gong Yao turned his head to look at her, his bright eyes reflecting her face. “She’s very beautiful.”

Lin Zhenzhen suddenly felt her heart racing. She gave a soft "oh" and then turned her head away as if nothing had happened.

The street scene outside the window seemed to be rushing backward like segments of film reels.

Lin Zhenzhen looked down at the bright yellow umbrella lying at their feet, and felt her mood, like the clearing sky, slowly brighten up.

The two got off the bus at the final stop.

Gong Yao went into the flower shop next to the station and bought two bunches of daisies.

Although Lin Zhenzhen had prepared herself mentally before coming, she still couldn't control her emotions when she actually stood in front of the tombstone engraved with the name "Lin Simiao".

It was an hour later when they left the cemetery.

The rain started again.

Lin Zhenzhen was crying so hard she couldn't speak, and she couldn't even breathe normally. She kept her head down, sobbing intermittently.

His eyes were swollen like walnuts, and two packs of tissues were soaked with tears and snot, all of which were now clutched in Gong Yao's hand.

—They couldn't find a trash can.

"You, you, give it to me, I'll take it."

"fine."

"No, give it to me."

Lin Zhenzhen snatched the large clump of white trash from Gong Yao's hand and stuffed it into her shoulder bag.

Gong Yao had been unusually silent since just now.

Aside from presenting flowers at the beginning, Gong Yao stood behind Lin Zhenzhen the whole time, silently accompanying her.

Only when he was about to leave did Gong Yao step forward and whisper something in front of Lin Simiao's tombstone.
