Chapter 390 The Final Chapter

"Are you alright?" Gong Yao squatted down to check on her. He hadn't expected the impact to be so severe. The girl had clearly landed on her knees, and there were minor abrasions on both knees.

"It's nothing, it just hurts a little," Lin Zhenzhen said. "Could you please help me up?"

Gong Yao supported Lin Zhenzhen's upper arm with his hand so that she could use it for support, and Lin Zhenzhen struggled to get up.

The leg that wasn't in a cast was slightly bent; it was pitifully thin, yet it was bearing the weight of the entire body.

Gong Yao handed the cane to Lin Zhenzhen and picked up the phone that had been thrown far away.

"The screen seems to be broken. I'll pay for it," Gong Yao said apologetically.

Lin Zhenzhen took the phone and examined it closely under the colorful neon lights of the karaoke room.

"It's okay, it's just that the tempered glass screen protector is broken." Lin Zhenzhen tore off the ruined screen protector and held it up in front of Gong Yao.

“Look.”

Gong Yao didn't focus his gaze on the shattered, spiderweb-like screen protector. Through the protector, he saw a pair of unusually bright eyes.

Nowadays, everyone has some quirks. Some people like to look at faces, some like to look at chests. Gong Yao, however, doesn't follow the crowd. He is always attracted to beautiful eyes, bright, moist, and fixed on him.

The owner of the eyes was a beautiful girl. Her face flickered in and out of focus under the light, sometimes colorful, sometimes sparkling like stars.

“The phone is fine, so I don’t need you to compensate me. But could you please help me back to my room?” Lin Zhenzhen frowned, clearly finding her request difficult.

Gong Yao raised an eyebrow: "No problem." He carefully put his arm around Lin Zhenzhen's, "Which room are you in?"

“Just turn left up ahead.” Lin Zhenzhen leaned slightly to the left, sharing some of her weight with Gong Yao.

Gong Yao was slightly taken aback when he saw the words "A20 Room" above his head.

"This is it. Thank you." Lin Zhenzhen reached out to take the cane from Gong Yao's hand, but she didn't expect him to hold it so tightly.

"You're also a student at Chengrong High School?"

Lin Zhenzhen looked up and asked uncertainly, "Are you Gong Yao?"

Lin Zhenzhen is indeed Cheng Rong's student, but she only transferred here in the second semester of her junior year. She is always alone at school and knows nothing about people from other classes.

Even though Gong Yao was a popular figure in the school, she had only heard about him in various occasions and from different people.

These two words are like a symbol, and now that symbol has been embodied in the handsome man before us.

Do you know me?

A slight smile appeared on Gong Yao's lips, and his eyes curved into a gentle expression.

"Actually, I don't know you," Lin Zhenzhen whispered, "but everyone's been talking about you all night."

"Oh, I see." Gong Yao looked somewhat apologetic. "I drove here; this place was quite hard to find."

Lin Zhenzhen nodded in agreement.

"Let's go inside first."

Gong Yao pushed open the door with one hand and supported Lin Zhenzhen with the other.

Hui Zi, who was sitting by the door singing passionately, exclaimed in surprise, "Brother Yao! How did you get in with Zhenzhen?"

Gong Yao helped Lin Zhenzhen to sit down on the nearest sofa.

"I just ran into you in the hallway. I didn't expect we were classmates." Gong Yao's voice was light and cheerful, and Hui Zi could tell he was in a good mood.

"That's great, Brother Yao. You can do some good deeds even in such a short time."

Huizi affectionately put his arm around Gong Yao's shoulder, but because he wasn't tall enough, it was a bit difficult for him to do so.

"Sorry I'm late, it's on me tonight. Have a great time, everyone." Everyone cheered. It was great; he was still the same rich and naive Gong Yao they remembered.

A group of people were clamoring to go out for a late-night snack. Hui Zi called everyone to go eat crayfish. Gong Yao got up to get his coat and bent down to hand Lin Zhenzhen the cane that was leaning against the wall.

"Let me help you up." Gong Yao's tone was very gentle, and Lin Zhenzhen had no reason to refuse.

"Thank you, you're so kind." Lin Zhenzhen was a little shy, her eyelids drooping slightly, and a stray strand of hair that was originally tucked behind her ear slipped down to her cheek.

"Yes, yes, Zhenzhen's leg is inconvenient, Yao-ge, can you lend a hand?" Hui-zi called out from the front of the crowd, but before he could finish speaking, he was pushed away by the students behind him.

Gong Yao and Lin Zhenzhen followed silently at the back. Gong Yao walked steadily, and their body heat was faintly transmitted through the places where they touched.

Lin Zhenzhen looked up and saw Gong Yao's sharply defined chin and his slightly pursed lips with a hint of a smile.

Lin Zhenzhen thought, this is probably the smiling lips that are very popular recently.

"You smell wonderful," Lin Zhenzhen said sincerely.

The girls at No. 1 High School had once giggled and discussed how Gong Yao's sweat was refreshing and invigorating.

Some people even patted their chests and claimed that they were lucky enough to smell it, as if a spring breeze was blowing on their face, refreshing and invigorating.

When Lin Zhenzhen first heard these rumors, she remained silent for a long time, unable to respond.

The pleasant soapy smell that male celebrities are said to have is probably just the smell of laundry detergent left over from their hasty laundry.

However, now that she has gotten up close to her idol, Lin Zhenzhen realizes that she was indeed narrow-minded back then.
