Before, the light was dim in the cave and I couldn't see clearly, but now that I look closely, I realize that the name "Little Black" is not quite accurate.
Its black is actually a multicolored black.
The little creature in front of me had a pig's nose, dog's ears, and limbs like a platypus.
Its smooth, black fur, as soft as mink's, shimmered in the sunlight, and the reflected colors changed with the angle of view.
Lin Zhenzhen liked it more and more the more she looked at it, and her initial dislike for its appearance had basically disappeared.
She stretched out her finger and gently poked the little black baby's soft belly.
"Squeak!" Little Black bounced up, hovered in the air for two seconds, and then slowly fell back into her palm.
Like a light and airy dandelion, its adorable and endearing appearance hardly resembles that of a ferocious imperial beast cub.
Lin Zhenzhen teased it with her fingers for a while before remembering to ask about the favorability rating.
Unexpectedly, the pink pig in her mind's eye had its back to her, its two little pig hooves resting alternately on its chest, and it gave a haughty snort.
They're just jealous of each other.
[Little rascal, no matter how cute it is, it can only accompany me in my little world. You're different.]
The system finally moved its large rear end with great pomp.
[Current favorability level: 60]
So many? Lin Zhenzhen raised an eyebrow in surprise. It seemed that although the training in the Mysterious Forest had brought some trouble, it had also been very fruitful.
Suddenly remembering something, she lowered her head, stared intently into Xiao Hei's eyes, and earnestly asked, "Is that monster tide related to you?"
"squeak!"
"Don't do that again next time. Make sure your little brothers behave properly, understand?"
"Squeak!" Little Black actually stood up on its two hind legs, as if making a promise.
"Ha." A soft laugh echoed in the room.
The laughter was extremely soft, with a slight breathiness, clearly not something he made himself.
Lin Zhenzhen paused for a moment, then looked up at the source of the sound: the roof beam.
Someone was lying on the roof beam at some point.
He was dressed in white, his right elbow supporting his face, his cascading hair loosely draped over his shoulders, his eyes slightly narrowed with upturned corners, and a smile playing on his lips as he stared intently at me.
Lin Zhenzhen's gaze lingered on his chest for a moment.
Yes, it's flat-chested, definitely a man.
She raised an eyebrow at him: "Young hero, how long do you want me to crane my neck like this? Why don't you get down and we can sit down and have a proper chat?"
Hearing her say that, the man sat up straight.
The hair he had just swept back of his head slid down his cheeks, covering most of his face.
"Humans are the most cunning, I really can't trust you."
“Oh, the human race…” Lin Zhenzhen nodded thoughtfully.
She said sincerely, "Brother of unknown race, I didn't even notice your presence before you spoke, which means your abilities are superior to mine. In that case, what are you afraid of?"
Suddenly, the little black dog in his arms started squeaking and gesturing wildly with its hands and feet.
After a moment of contemplation, the man leaped off the roof beam.
"The imperial beast is quite protective of you."
For some reason, Lin Zhenzhen sensed a hint of sourness in his voice.
She scratched her head, unsure how to begin, when she heard him utter another startling statement.
"Did you hatch it?"
Lin Zhenzhen stared wide-eyed in shock and quickly waved her hands to clarify, "No, no, no, it won't hatch. I'm not a hen, how could I have such a skill?"
The man looked at her suspiciously: "If it wasn't you, how did the imperial beast break through its eggshell?"
Lin Zhenzhen carefully recalled the cause and effect, and boldly guessed, "It must have been caused by being thrown out."
She remembered that after she fell into the cave, the black egg cracked, and she was worried that the egg white and yolk inside might have mixed together and turned into a mess.
The man's expression froze for a few seconds, and his originally beautiful and alluring face looked somewhat comical.
Just then, Xiao Hei suddenly jumped out of her palm, turned its back to her, shook its body twice towards the teapot, and then a steaming jet of water poured out.
It also squinted its eyes and let out a comfortable sigh.
...
Lin Zhenzhen suppressed her anger and pulled the little guy who was urinating and defecating on the ground off the table.
"Alright, now it's my turn to ask questions. What kind of being are you, hmm? Demon? Beast? Monster? Or ghost?"
Every species in this world has its own unique flavor.
Those who cultivate themselves transcend the limitations of sight and develop a heightened system of five senses, making them more sensitive to other races.
But the person in front of her was different. Even though he was sitting right in front of her, he didn't make her feel any sudden discomfort.
It's as if it has become one with the surrounding flowing air.
The man's eyes twitched, and if she wasn't mistaken, he rolled his eyes.
"I am a spirit."
"Essence?" Lin Zhenzhen's eyes widened in surprise. "Then what is your true form?"
"Wu Nian Mu."
The Nameless Tree, a legendary divine tree, grows under the purest moonlight on the entire continent. It has no roots, but the surrounding spirit beasts spontaneously bring it withered leaves and fallen blossoms every day; these things, placed on its trunk, become fertilizer for the Nameless Tree's growth.
Uh, isn't this just a copy of: "Baby, don't worry, I'll support you by collecting scraps?"
Wu Nianmu frowned and said with displeasure, "What are you laughing at?"
"Oh, I'm just shocked. I never imagined that the legendary divine tree really existed."
