Chapter 9: The Unremarkable Sister

When I got home from school in the afternoon, Su's parents were busy with their own things outside, so they usually left the three younger generations at home for dinner.

Miao Qingyu returned home. She carried her schoolbag into the house, took a shower, dried her hair, and went downstairs to eat.

Su Cheng made an appointment with a friend today and mentioned it to Su Qingqing on the phone.

The two little girls of the host family were having dinner, and the chef prepared six dishes and a soup.

During the meal, the sisters Su Qingqing and Miao Qingyu ignored each other and ate their own food.

After dinner, Miao Qingyu put down the bowl as usual, pushed the chair away without saying a word, turned around and ran towards the stairs.

Su Qingqing put down her bowl and chopsticks after hearing the sound and felt unhappy.

When did I become so unlovable?

Unable to figure out her own thoughts, Su Qingqing raised her voice.

"Hello..."

She saw Miao Qingyu, who was walking up the stairs, stopped running when she heard her shout.

Miao Qingyu held the warm stair handrail and looked back with a puzzled look at Su Qingqing who was sitting on the sofa and turning on the TV.

Su Qingqing, who was sitting cross-legged on the sofa hugging a pillow, felt very uncomfortable when she was stared at.

They seldom communicate with each other at home, and their tacit relationship is that of strangers living under the same roof.

Miao Qingyu naturally knew that Su Qingqing and her mother and son disliked her. She must have believed that except for Su's father, no one in this family truly welcomed her.

Miao Qingyu usually knows how to maintain a good distance between people at home.

After school, except for meal times, she would spend most of her time in her room studying and reading to catch up on her studies if necessary.

Although she didn't understand why Su Qingqing suddenly called her, she still stayed there patiently, waiting for the little girl with an awkward look to speak first.

After waiting for a long time, it turned out that her sister was too lonely and wanted to ask her to stay in the living room with her to watch TV.

Mingde does not have the complicated and heavy homework that is common in ordinary schools.

Miao Qingyu wanted to read a book when she returned to her room, and it was not impossible for her to watch TV with Su Qingqing to pass the time.

There was a huge sofa, with the two sisters occupying one on the left and the other on the right, leaving a long space in between.

The actors on the TV screen were chattering, and Su Qingqing was annoyed and picked up the remote control beside her and randomly changed channels.

In fact, she rarely watched TV since she was a child, and the TV in her home mostly served as decoration.

Seeing the people on TV saying nasty things, she simply turned off the TV.

"You have nothing to do anyway, go shopping."

Miao Qingyu went out shopping at the Su family once. This time, when she was shopping with her sister, she found that she was actually very narrow-minded.

The driver drove them directly to what was said to be the largest commercial complex in Kyoto.

After getting out of the car, Su Qingqing pulled the slow-moving Miao Qingyu straight towards the mall entrance.

With a clear goal in mind, she headed straight for the luxury goods area of the mall.

Miao Qingyu was pulled into a clothing store with simple yet elegant decoration.

As soon as they entered the store, the neatly dressed and beautiful female shopping guides on both sides of the store bent down and bowed 90 degrees.

"Welcome to our store and wish you a pleasant shopping experience."

Miao Qingyu felt uncomfortable all over and shivered.

As soon as Su Qingqing entered, the manager at the cashier counter heard the sound and looked over, his eyes shining.

Su Qingqing and her mother are the store's distinguished VIP customers, and they are wealthy mothers who spend millions a year.

The store manager hurried over and took the person into the VIP room.

"Miss Su, you came at the right time. I have a few haute couture pieces from the runway. I'll ask the models in the store to show them to you."

After taking a sip of Darjeeling black tea, Su Qingqing nodded in agreement as if she was used to it.

Anyway, I have to attend cocktail parties and banquets every year, so there is no such thing as too many dresses.

The extremely attentive store manager went out.

Su Qingqing looked at her sister who looked very unfashionable. She was wearing a loose sportswear without any proper clothes.

I was thinking of picking out two decent sets of clothes for her, otherwise it would be her who would be embarrassed.

Miao Qingyu had no idea of her sister's sudden thoughts. Her whole attention was on the round table in front of her.

The pretty salesgirl brought some unique and pretty little cakes, but she didn’t want the customers to feel sick of them, so she paired them with some Darjeeling black tea to help them feel less sick.

She ate the cake slowly as a backdrop.

The smiling store manager led several models who had changed into dresses, and they walked in catwalks not far from the sofa where they were sitting, showing off the clothes they were wearing.

He lifted his eyelids and took a slow glance at her, then sighed inwardly.

It’s just like the model shows on TV, except that it’s brought to reality and is more real.

Su Qingqing was already accustomed to the ostentatious service provided by others.

She slowly stood up and waved to one of the models in the room. The model came over with a cat-like walk and stood beside her.

Su Qingqing carefully examined the pure black embroidered cheongsam with traditional Chinese style patterns.

I thought to myself that it’s okay to wear to a cocktail party, and it seems like it would also be nice to wear out on a daily basis.

Thinking of this, she looked back at her sister who had been an outsider from beginning to end.

The so-called sister really thinks of herself as a foil.

Nostrils snorted.

Su Qingqing pointed at the pure black cheongsam on the model.

"You...get up and try."

Miao Qingyu hadn't spoken yet, and the store manager who was standing beside her asked.

"Ms. Su has a great eye. This cheongsam was designed by international emerging designer Feng Ming based on the special period of the Republic of my country.

It aims to express the idea that women should always be brave enough to break free from their constraints..."

Su Qingqing didn't have time to listen to her nonsense. She chose this dress only because Miao Qingyu had fair skin and black could better show her fair skin.

Who told her sister that apart from her fair skin, there are no other advantages in her body?

Miao Qingyu has dressed simply since she was a child.

She looked at the skirt handed to her by the store manager and looked towards her sister who was standing there with her arms crossed for help.
