Chapter 52 People Abandoned by Educated Youth (13)

"Huang Siwen, what are you doing?" Zhao Hongjun frowned. Why was this woman back so soon? Didn't she say she was going home to raise money?

As he spoke, Zhao Hongjun reached out and pulled down the scarf covering Huang Siwen's face, revealing her familiar face.

"Isn't this Zhao's wife? When did she come back? And why is she hiding among us?" Hearing the screams, the villagers instinctively cleared a large space around Huang Siwen, and saw Huang Siwen's face full of disgust.

Huang Siwen was shocked. She had hidden herself so well, how could she have been discovered? She desperately tried to shake off the object. She shouldn't have been here in the first place. If it weren't for seeing what would happen to this family, she wouldn't have risked coming back.

Zhao Hongjun, being a man, couldn't bring himself to be ruthless towards a woman. Huang Siwen broke free as soon as she was freed, and he could only watch helplessly as she escaped his control. Huang Siwen felt a surge of joy and tried to run away, but a strong force came from her wrist, and her face instantly changed.

"Siwen, you're back? I knew you wouldn't abandon us. Hongjun's judgment was right." Wuyou smiled, and everyone except Huang Siwen could see her joy.

Huang Siwen shivered, her teeth chattering uncontrollably. The other person's gaze was so cold, like unchanging ice and snow, that it instantly froze her.

In the three years since she became her mother-in-law, this was the first time she had ever seen her mother-in-law show such a serious expression, and that one time was enough for her to never forget it.

"I...I came to see you after I finished taking care of things at home." She forced an awkward smile, her whole demeanor appearing extremely stiff, and anyone could see her reluctance.

"You're a family?" The square-faced man looked surprised and somewhat unpleasant as he stared at Huang Siwen in disbelief. Huang Siwen instinctively avoided his gaze.

“Yes, she’s my wife. She just got into Jinghua University this year.” Zhao Hongjun seemed to understand something and began to speak, following the other person’s words. Upon hearing this, the square-faced man’s expression became even more complex and difficult to read.

"By the way, comrade, since nothing was found, it proves that there's nothing wrong with my house, right?" Wuyou gripped Huang Siwen's wrist tightly, then smiled at the square-faced man, receiving a nod of affirmation.

"In that case, the person who reported my family is fabricating lies and slandering us. Comrade, you can't let someone like him get away with this!" Wuyou raised her voice, then turned to look at Huang Siwen with a cold, mocking gaze and indignant words.

She knew it. Those four words instantly flashed through Huang Siwen's mind. She lowered her head desperately, wishing she could find a crack in the ground to hide.

"Don't worry, I can make sure you don't let those wicked people who waste national resources and fabricate lies get away with it." The square-faced man nodded, and after thinking things through, he looked at Zhao Hongjun and the other man with a hint of sympathy in his eyes.

A young woman sent to the countryside during the Cultural Revolution, admitted to a prestigious university, has an honest and simple husband who abandons her husband and children. The young woman walks away without a care in the world, leaving the family devastated – this is all too common. But this woman is even more ruthless; she turns around and tries to harm her husband and mother-in-law. It truly proves the saying, "The most poisonous heart is that of a woman!"

Even though Huang Siwen tried her best to hide it, how could she not be discovered here after beating someone like that? Before, the square-faced man had a good impression of her, this beautiful and educated educated youth, and had been tolerant and kind to her. Now, however, he felt great resentment towards her.

“Comrade Huang Siwen, you have heard what we just said. You are suspected of fabricating evidence and defamation. Please come with us.” The square-faced man walked up to Huang Siwen and spoke with a cold expression.

These words caused an uproar. Did this mean Huang Siwen was the whistleblower? That's too harsh!

"I thought she was disgusting enough, but I never expected her to be even more disgusting. The Zhao family treated her well, yet she still did something like this."

"What a vicious woman's heart! Aunt Zhao and the others are so pitiful."

"What good is it for someone like her to be pretty? I'm so glad I didn't marry her, or she would have definitely killed me."

Huang Siwen heard all the villagers' whispers. Despite her malicious heart, she was still thin-skinned and her face turned red instantly. She turned her eyes and glared fiercely at the villagers.

"What I do is none of your business. What right do you have to judge me?" It was these villagers who initially supported her, which forced her to curry favor with the Zhao family and ended up in this situation. Now they even want to morally blackmail her.

No one present expected her to be so unrepentant and self-righteous. The square-faced man's expression turned even colder. He waved his hand at the people behind him, and two people instantly grabbed Huang Siwen's elbows and arms.

"Why are you arresting me? I'm not lying. They were clearly doing speculative and profiteering, they were just hiding. You couldn't find them, so you arrested me instead." Huang Siwen struggled and shouted in dissatisfaction, his ferocious face was very ugly.

“We have our own principles for doing things, and we don’t need you to tell us what to do.” The square-faced man frowned, looking quite displeased.

"Slap—" The crisp sound of the slap was particularly loud, and the sound of flesh hitting flesh was somewhat muffled. When the others reacted, Huang Siwen was lying on the ground covering her face, her eyes filled with tears, and her gaze was dazed, clearly not having reacted yet.

"You wretch—our family has been so good to you, how dare you harm us like this? Do you have any conscience? I shouldn't have been so soft-hearted back then and let this troublemaker and jinx into my Zhao family—" Wuyou was furious, her face flushed red, and she gritted her teeth as if she wanted to bite a piece of flesh off Huang Siwen.

Then, Wuyou used the usual fighting methods of rural women, using her slightly plump figure to pounce on Huang Siwen and beat him hard. Her rough hands gripped Huang Siwen's hair tightly, making him wince in pain, while her other hand slapped Huang Siwen's face like a machine.

Huang Siwen's furious, bloodshot eyes terrified the group. By the time they realized what was happening, her hair was disheveled, her cheeks were swollen, and she coughed up a mouthful of blood.

When the others hurriedly pulled her away, Huang Siwen was covered in dust and looked disheveled. Her hand trembled as she touched her cheek, feeling so painful that she almost fainted on the spot. It was definitely swollen.

"You...you actually answered me?" She spoke incoherently, looking around but no one spoke up for her, her heart filled with extreme resentment.

Putting aside her despicable past actions, the villagers all know perfectly well who she should help, given her long-standing relationship with the Zhao family from the same village.

Without any help, Huang Siwen inevitably felt a sense of loneliness and helplessness. Looking at the square-faced man, she couldn't help but cry, looking even more pitiful.

"Comrades, you all saw it, they beat me! You must stand up for us, the people! I'm a student at Jinghua University, and I'm going to serve the country in the future." Huang Siwen was a bit clever and spoke very tactfully, even using his status as a university student to intimidate them.

"In that case, please come with us to cooperate with the investigation!" The square-faced man looked away, afraid of hurting his eyes too!
