Chapter 95 Did an honest person offend you? (17)

A continuous drizzle fell, the sky veiled in darkness, obscuring everything. A red umbrella stood out starkly against the rain, shielding the eyes from the downpour and adding a splash of color to the gloomy weather.

Wuyou carefully gave Li Jingtian a few instructions while holding an umbrella, and then prepared to send him into the kindergarten. Li Jingtian stood still, looking up at Wuyou's delicate face.

"Dad, Mom is so strange. Yesterday, she took a knife and pressed it against your hand, and did a lot of weird things. Dad, Mom, were you playing games behind Xiao Jing's back? I want to play with you next time."

With his head bent and a cute expression, Li Jingtian didn't hesitate to dig a pit for his own mother, and also leaked the information to Wuyou, so that at least she would be a little wary.

Sure enough, Wuyou's expression was thoughtful, and then she let Li Jingtian leave. The electric scooter sped along the road and finally stopped in front of an upscale coffee shop.

Wuyou was wearing an invisible white shirt and suit pants, and her hair was meticulously styled, but the fabric and texture did not look like that of someone who frequented a high-end area.

"Hello, I have an appointment with someone, room number seven." Wuyou smiled and said to the waiter, whose expression immediately became more respectful as he led the person to room number seven.

The heavy wooden door was pushed open, revealing the view inside. It was an extremely spacious private room, with a round, transparent table in the center, decorated with a few fresh flowers, and two cups of coffee placed on either side. The air was filled with a faint fragrance of flowers and a subtle aroma of coffee.

A woman in a black business suit sat upright in a chair, sipping her coffee gently. Her heavily made-up face was unfathomable, and her long, curly hair cascaded down her back, adding a touch of allure. She exuded an unapproachable air of authority.

"Sit down!" The door was closed. The coffee shop was very soundproof, so Liu Peilan didn't bother to hide it and simply raised her chin at Wuyou, gesturing for him to sit down.

"What business do you, a mere police officer, have with me? Speak your mind and don't waste my time." Liu Peilan put down her teacup, the sound echoing in the quiet private room. Her voice was authoritative and left no room for argument.

Unperturbed and unhurried, Wuyou picked up her teacup and took a sip. The bitter taste instantly filled her mouth, followed by an indescribable rich aroma. She couldn't help but squint her eyes, revealing a deep expression of enjoyment.

Liu Peilan showed a hint of surprise. Her upbringing was different; everyone she encountered was extremely wealthy and powerful. Her family upbringing had instilled in her aura of authority, and even Sun Fei would show some fear when she unleashed her full power. Yet, she remained remarkably calm.

Even before meeting Wuyou, she had thoroughly investigated this young police officer, and the two had no connection whatsoever. If there was any connection at all, it was that Li Wuyou had married her husband's mistress.

Thinking of Zhang Wenxiu, Liu Peilan felt a surge of unease. Although three years had passed, she still felt uncomfortable.

"Ms. Liu, do you remember that envelope from three years ago?"

At first, Liu Peilan thought Wuyou was trying to get close to him. He had seen this kind of thing many times, and he couldn't help but show some impatience. But when he heard the second half of the sentence, his expression changed. He froze on the spot, his pupils contracted and widened, and he looked extremely surprised.

"I remember, how could I not remember?" Liu Peilan said with a complicated expression after figuring things out. She no longer put on airs. Wuyou's words had undoubtedly proven her ability to him, and she could no longer underestimate him.

"It seems you knew all along, and even knew before I did. How could you tolerate this woman for so many years?" Liu Peilan couldn't understand. How could a man tolerate his wife cheating on him and raising another man's son? This kind of person... is terrifying.

“Ms. Liu Peilan, you don’t need to worry about that. I’ve come to see you today because it’s important.” Wuyou drank a cup of coffee and avoided answering.

"Do you know that your husband, Sun Fei, has already decided to kill you?" Upon hearing this, Liu Peilan froze on the spot, the coffee cup in her hand fell to the ground with a loud crash, and shattered into pieces.

Judging from the noise, if someone hadn't given prior instructions, the waiter would probably have already come in to clean up.

Her long dress was stained with coffee, sticking uncomfortably to her body. But Liu Peilan just stared at Wuyou with sharp phoenix eyes, not missing a single expression on his face, as if trying to find a flaw in his expression.

Wuyou looked at her with pity and handed her some tissues. Liu Peilan thanked him softly, her hands trembling as she took the tissues, grabbed a few silk handkerchiefs, and frantically wiped herself on her skirt, her hands shaking violently.

"What...what evidence do you have? You're just making things up. I can sue you for defamation." When Liu Peilan looked up again, Wuyou noticed her slightly red eyes and the tears welling up, as if they would spill out of her eyes with the blink of an eye.

Wuyou was quite puzzled. She already knew that Sun Fei had cheated on her, so why was she still so sad?

"It seems you two have wasted all these years as a couple. You know him less than I, an outsider." Wuyou shook her head, disappointed by Liu Peilan's keen insight.

Liu Peilan clenched his fist, and his entire demeanor underwent a dramatic change, as if shrouded in a dark cloud, making it clear that he felt sorrow and helplessness.

"Take a look for yourself!" Wuyou took a tablet out of her backpack and handed it to Liu Peilan, then opened a video.

With trembling hands, Liu Peilan took the tablet computer. Her hands became very steady afterward as she quietly watched everything on the screen. How the two of them plotted, how excited they were, how they discussed things—everything was so clear.

Every second the video on the screen moved felt like a giant slap across Liu Peilan's face, making her cheek sting. This was the man she had carefully chosen, the man for whom she had given up everything. How could she have been so blind?

She bit her lip hard to suppress the scream and angry sound that threatened to burst from her throat. The pain stimulated Liu Peilan's nerves, making her even more alert. Scenes from the past few years flashed through her mind. Many details revealed that Sun Fei was not right, but she was blinded by her own biased perspective, which was why she believed this heartless man.

"If you're worried that I'm faking it, you can have a professional check it out." Wuyou looked at the other person's pained and angry expression and found it quite strange, so she couldn't help but take a few more glances and speak objectively.

"No..." Liu Peilan uttered a single word, shook her head, and her eyes changed drastically. "I believe you. Let's cooperate."
