Chapter 102 Interstellar Glory (Part 4)

She was such a favored daughter of heaven, how could she be allowed to fall due to conspiracy before she could even shine her true light?

Shen Wangshu still doesn't understand why anyone would target the Field family.

All she knew was that the person who had sent the Field family to their doom, causing this century-old prestigious family to disappear from this sea of stars, married Jasmine after Effie's death, and the couple began a glorious life.

One became a high-ranking military official, bringing glory to his family; the other became a hero among the common people of the Federation, daring to question the elite and revered by countless others. Despite being adversaries, they broke through the barriers between the elite and the common people, gaining the blessings of many who recognized their courage.

But in the end, these two did not live happily ever after. Two hundred years later, the man was assassinated by space pirates while traveling through space, and his head was displayed in the Field family cemetery. Jasmine, however, disappeared during that voyage. No one knew where the pirates took her, nor what her life was like afterward.

This is the ending, but in the very end, there is no reason why Field had to be put to death.

Shen Wangshu let out a soft breath, his gaze darkening for a moment in the shadows.

"What's wrong?" Seemingly sensing her mood, Effie lowered her head and asked softly.

Those dark golden eyes, so different from Alice's, somewhat cold and indifferent, held an unmistakable concern.

"Does your sister know General Andy?" Shen Wangshu asked cautiously.

Effie frowned, seemingly annoyed, but seeing her sister looking at her curiously, she softened her gaze and said, "Just a colleague. Did he harass you?"

Her voice was icy, as if she truly had some grudge against that man. Shen Wangshu nodded and said softly, "I once heard someone at the academy say that among the generals in the military, there was a General Andy who was narrow-minded and skilled in intrigue, and full of hostility towards the Field family." She keenly felt the hand holding her tremble slightly.

Effie gave a short, cold laugh.

“Don’t worry, I understand,” she said gently.

"Is there really a grudge?" Shen Wangshu pleaded, "Don't tell me I know nothing."

He proposed to me, but I refused.

"Effie said calmly. She paused for a moment, thinking of something even more repulsive, before continuing, "He thinks the Field family has no men and that marrying me will allow him to take over the entire Field family. What a fool."

With all the men of the Field family dead in battle, their vulnerability was exposed, making them easy targets for ambitious individuals who coveted the Fields. Unfortunately for them, Effie resolutely refused them all, including General Eddie.

The ambition in that man's eyes made her wary.

Of course, she wouldn't let him have his way. She just hadn't expected this man to be so narrow-minded; even her sister knew he harbored resentment towards the Field family.

Rejected and unable to get what you want, so you resent others? How ridiculous.

"Sister, be careful of him. I've heard he's good at framing people," Shen Wangshu said with concern. "I think he's very good at fabricating treasonous documents and such."

Hearing her words, which sounded like those of a little adult, Effie couldn't help but laugh out loud.

She touched Shen Wangshu's hair, and the latter tentatively tugged at his own hair with lingering fear.

She was relieved that he wasn't bald.

"I'll be careful of him, Alice, don't worry." But it felt really good to be worried about by her sister, and Effie's expression became much more genuine.

However, this joy turned into frustration when he saw the black-haired man walking towards him.

Effie stared coldly at the persistent man.

"What are you doing here?" she asked, her face pale.

General Carl's gaze fell on Shen Wangshu. Seeing her seemingly obediently hiding behind Effie, yet giving him a tiny whiff of a kiss with her small hand, his eyes softened slightly.

Effie turned around abruptly and looked at her sister.

She was greeted by a pure and innocent-looking face.

Feeling like she was overlooking something, Effie slowly turned around, paused, and then turned back again.

The blonde girl was covering her mouth as she yawned.

She tilted her head, looking at her sister with even more innocence, her blue eyes seeming to overflow with tears.

Only then did Effie turn around with satisfaction, not seeing her innocent younger sister behind her remove her hand from her mouth and continue blowing kisses. She stared at Admiral Karls again and said unhappily, "Karls, you should be on your flagship! I'm very unhappy about you staying here with me."

Each general's flagship was their most important territory, and this guy's presence here deeply offended Effie. She didn't like Kars, but for her sister's sake, she tried to remain calm and said, "I appreciate your help, but that doesn't mean I'll allow you to do anything unnecessary." She felt her sister secretly tugging at her, so she swallowed the words she was about to say.

She didn't actually want her sister to marry the man in front of her.

"Wherever she is, that's where I will be," the black-haired general said calmly.

Behind him, a tall, handsome blond youth walked quickly over, stopped and saluted when he saw Effie.

His gaze swept over Shen Wangshu, and a hint of relief appeared in his eyes.

.

"Is this Miss Alice?" Both Effie and Karl were silent by nature. When they faced each other, they just stared at each other, as if they were fighting with their eyes. Shen Wangshu could feel the swords flashing. Just then, a very pleasant voice was heard.
