Chapter 109 Interstellar Glory (Part 11)

"Your Excellency, General." Her eyes were slightly red, and she tried hard not to let the tears of grievance fall.

“Poor thing, don’t cry.” General Andy scrutinized the black-haired girl, and after noticing her longing for those honors, he smiled slightly and said gently, “Miss Alice seems to like you a lot. Compared to her, everyone else is insignificant.”

Alice was indeed a very naive girl. Even though the girl in front of her was full of scheming, she still treated her as her best friend. A faint smugness appeared in General Andy's eyes, but it disappeared in the blink of an eye. He then said more gently, "Besides, you still have me."

Jasmine's delicate body trembled slightly as she looked up at the man in front of her in surprise.

“I’ve fallen in love with you, Jasmine,” General Andy said tenderly.

He paused, then said gently, "With me, you will gain true glory."

Jasmine looked at the man with a menacing aura, her eyes trembling with tension.

Of course, she knew that there was such a thing as love at first sight; after all, Karl had fallen in love with Alice at first sight. But looking at the undisguised ambition in General Andy's eyes, she couldn't help but know that this man probably had even more schemes in his heart.

She didn't know what he wanted from her, because she had nothing, so she said tremblingly, "But... I'm useless..." Though she said this, a very pleasant joy rose within her.

.

“How could it be useless? You are the daughter of the Field family,” General Andy said without any attempt to hide his feelings.

He's long past the age of trying to seduce a young girl with his emotions.

If you want her to work for you, give her what she cares about most.

What does Jasmine want most?

What she probably wants most is for her, her adopted daughter, to forever trample Field's biological daughters under her feet.

“The Field family’s daughter…” Jasmine murmured.

She looked even more bewildered, her delicate face filled with emptiness and confusion. She shook her head and said, "What can I do for an adopted daughter?"

General Andy smiled faintly as he saw how readily she had pledged her allegiance to him. He looked at the young woman intently, then glanced at Alice and said softly, "If you succeed, you will be more glorious than her, and she will be humiliated and unable to rise again."

He didn't care that Jasmine was still struggling, because he knew that her struggle wasn't internal resistance, but rather something she was doing for him. A truly conscientious girl, once she utters her first words, doesn't need to struggle at all; she simply turns and walks away, firmly rejecting all temptations.

Struggling means wavering, it means that sincerity is not reliable.

I heard that the Field family raised her for more than ten years, and she was just like the real Alice.

But it seems that betraying Field meant absolutely nothing to Molly.

What an ingrate!

But he likes it!

A faint smile appeared on General Andy's handsome face.

However, General Andy was a shrewd man, and even if he was very pleased with himself, he still knew to keep a low profile.

Seeing Jasmine's hesitant expression, he curled his lips into a smile, turned around, and left.

That's the meaning of "feigning indifference to lure the enemy into a trap".

However, General Andy certainly didn't know that his smile was being observed by several pairs of eyes.

The celebratory banquet ended in a lively atmosphere, likely providing plenty of headlines to follow. Shen Wangshu, satisfied, followed her lover and sister home. With the most important people in her life by her side, she felt incredibly content, and upon returning to the Fields home, she clung to Carl's arm.

The latter used a little force to pick her up horizontally, spun her around once, making her scream, before glancing sideways at Effie, whose face was not looking good, and striding into the Field house. Because Effie refused to ride with Molly, Molly and Carl's beloved adjutant were in the car behind.

Walking back to the gate of Field, Effie led Carls straight upstairs to her study.

She sat in her seat with a sullen face, coldly watching Shen Wangshu cling to Karl's neck and refuse to let go.

"What happened?" she asked, frowning.

Shen Wangshu's gaze, however, fell on her desk.

Alice and Effie are standing hand in hand in that picture, both smiling beautifully.

.

"Forgot? This photo was taken when we went on vacation to the Welsh star system when Father was still alive," Effie said with a smile.

"It was right in the very center of the star field. I remember my sister even found a huge energy stone there," Shen Wangshu said coquettishly, pouting. "All you know is fighting and killing. Why don't you go pick flowers for Alice?"

Effie looked at her delicate younger sister and said gently, "Next time we go, I'll pick the most beautiful flower in the star field for you." She looked at her sister tenderly, but when she saw that her sister's gaze was focused on the photo, she turned it away so that her sister wouldn't look at it, and instead focused her gaze on Karls.

The latter didn't waste any words and said coldly, "Of your five adjutants, two were bribed and their homes were raided by me yesterday." A large leather bag appeared in his hand at some point, and he took out several documents and slammed them in front of Aifei.

"Look at the people you trust," he said with a sneer.

Effie's eyes narrowed, she took the document, her expression changed, becoming somewhat strange, and then she let out a deep sigh.

“I never imagined it would turn out like this.” She placed the documents on the table, her face showing extreme exhaustion, and said softly, “They are my comrades who have been with me through life and death since I joined the military.”
