This cold laugh made Effie silently endure it for a moment, then she punched Sith, who was lying on the side, in the shoulder. The pirate captain dared not speak out, silently bearing it, and incidentally gave Karls a look, but the latter remained unmoved.
Shen Wangshu was somewhat puzzled when he saw that look in his eyes.
"By the way, what did you say you did to Jasmine?" Effie suddenly asked.
Karls thought for a moment and said calmly, "It's locked up."
He didn't know where Jasmine lived, so he ordered someone to lock the girl in the house and not let her out.
Effie thought it was appropriate to keep Jasmine locked up, and nodded, showing no intention of righteously releasing Jasmine.
She was more concerned about Jasmine and General Andy, feeling more uneasy with these worries on her mind. Moreover, her adjutant had run into trouble, and she had to get rid of the problematic ones. As for the remaining loyal ones, she should give them a better future as a token of her gratitude. She was afraid that there would be even more problems.
She sighed inwardly, feeling a pang of sadness for her comrades who had fought alongside her in the military but had ultimately gone their separate ways.
She looked at her sister with pity and whispered, "I hope that in the future..." She hoped that Alice would never encounter such a thing again.
Childhood friends may diverge as they grow up and eventually go down different paths.
What will Alice's current companions become in the future?
"Don't be sad, sister, for there are many people who care about you and are by your side," Shen Wangshu said softly.
Aifei paused, her gaze dimmed slightly, but a smile appeared on her face as she kissed Shen Wangshu's forehead and said, "Okay, I understand."
She stood up and saw Shen Wangshu nestled in Karl's arms, looking up at her. She smiled and said, "I'm going to the military headquarters."
She took a deep breath, changed her clothes, and left quickly. Shen Wangshu leaned against the window and watched her leave before jumping back into Karl's arms and whispering, "I have to help my sister."
She nudged Karls's hand, and seeing him nod, she smiled innocently and said, "How could you lock Jasmine up? You're so mean." She got up with a grin to visit poor Miss Jasmine, only to see Sith quickly sit up after she left, and they locked eyes as if saying something.
She trusted Kars and Sith, so she had no doubts and went straight to Jasmine's room.
At the door, she heard pitiful crying coming from inside.
Two Field servants stood fearfully by the door, as if they were guards.
Shen Wangshu told them to leave and opened the door. She saw that the room was exquisitely decorated, almost identical to Alice's own room. Looking at the meticulously crafted room with her expressionless face, it was clear that Molly was being treated like a daughter in the Fields' household.
And those framed photos, filled with everyone's happy smiles, and those beautiful decorations—all rare treasures in the interstellar space. Shen Wangshu couldn't understand why Jasmine, who had obtained all of this, would betray Field.
Shouldn't she be grateful to have been raised with such love from being an orphan?
Or... should I consider myself a member of the Field family and be a true sister to everyone?
Have they lost all their conscience?
No one wronged Jasmine, because when Alice was pampered, no one ignored her either, yet she still managed to harbor so much resentment.
Clearly, she is a heartless person.
Shen Wangshu coldly pursed her lips, looking at the black-haired girl who was sobbing in a soft cushion. Her eyes were red and swollen from crying, like a pitiful little rabbit, and even her sobs were muffled. Shen Wangshu smiled at her weak and pitiful appearance, walked to her side, and said softly, "Don't cry."
Her voice was like a clear spring. Jasmine suddenly raised her head and asked, crying, "Alice, why did Sister Effie lock me up? Is it because I'm a disgrace?" She cried and accused, "I'm also a famous girl in the Federation, and I'm loved by everyone!"
"How pitiful," Shen Wangshu said softly.
She seemed to feel sorry for her, and Jasmine's eyes lit up. She said even more pitifully, "Alice, please go and beg Sister Effie for me. I don't want to be locked up at home."
.
“It’s not that you’re locked up at home, it’s because the house was burgled. Some of your sister’s documents that she doesn’t want anyone to know about were kept in the study, and someone almost stole them. Karl managed to catch the thief, but your sister was worried that someone would cause trouble at home, so she locked you in the room.”
Shen Wangshu sat on the edge of Jasmine's soft bed, her head drooping, and sighed, "The study door is broken, and there are so many documents inside. I don't know what to do. I hope nothing is lost or that there will be big trouble." She was extremely worried, twisting the hem of her clothes anxiously, and said, "My sister even went to the military headquarters because of this."
"What important document?" Jasmine's eyes suddenly lit up.
If she gets hold of some important documents, can she use them to threaten Effie?
The thought of the proud Effie begging for mercy made Jasmine's heart pound for some reason.
"I don't know, my sister told me it wasn't appropriate," the blonde girl said innocently.
Jasmine hesitated for a moment, then said softly, "We're all family here, how could anything happen?"
"So change your clothes and come out for dinner." Shen Wangshu raised an eyebrow, got up and walked to the door. She saw Jasmine hugging a pillow with a nervous expression, but she just smiled and walked away.
