Based on this secret alone, the entire military would be willing to protect this pirate leader. Moreover, since establishing his pirate force, Sith has never engaged in any illegal activities within the Federation's sphere of influence.
Lance used to think this was out of fear of the Federation's power, but now it seems... it's because he doesn't want to do bad things in Effie's area.
Fortunately, he didn't do it, otherwise things would have been really complicated for Aifei.
“All my adjutants have resigned. Kerry, would you be interested in becoming my adjutant?” After all, they were friends. Although Effie had dismissed all her adjutants, she had managed to get them all good positions as long as they hadn’t betrayed her.
However, she couldn't remain without an adjutant forever. Upon seeing the handsome and composed Kerry, she immediately thought of poaching him. Rubbing her eyes, she said wearily, "Although you are a student in the mecha department, I think you are more suitable to be a commander. Stay by my side for a few years, and I will teach you well."
This actually meant not only being an adjutant, but also being a student.
Kerry's pale face immediately flushed slightly.
His older brother, who was holding a blonde little girl, graduated from the mecha department and then became a very successful commander. Therefore, he was also open to commanding warships in battle. Moreover, Effie was also a highly decorated military officer, and those who wanted to be her students would have to be from outer space. So he didn't hesitate and nodded vigorously.
He nodded, knowing he had agreed too quickly. Fearing his elder brother might be petty, he turned to Karls earnestly and said, "With Lance by my side, and Alice likely to be my brother's adjutant as well, I can't help. I'd rather do something more meaningful."
"Okay." With a little angel already, who needs a younger brother? General Karls nodded in complete nonchalance.
He showed none of the fury one would have felt when their sister was taken away, which greatly disappointed Effie.
However, Kerry was a boy she genuinely liked, and a faint smile appeared on her face.
"Do you need an adjutant?" the red-haired girl Lori suddenly asked, peeking out.
The handsome young man's face immediately turned to despair.
“We’re short of personnel.” Effie was currently a lone admiral, and she also liked the straightforward and simple-minded Lori. She smiled and nodded, saying, “If you’d like, you can also join my fleet.”
"We're colleagues again, what a coincidence!"
Lori rubbed against Kerry's shoulder with a cheerful smile.
The boy silently covered his face, seemingly unwilling to see the girl's smug expression, but he couldn't help but let a faint smile curl at the corners of his mouth.
He thought his faint smile lines were well hidden, but little did he know that Shen Wangshu was watching him. Seeing this, the girl thought to herself that this boy was really hypocritical, while hugging Karls and saying mischievously, "Sister hasn't asked Sith yet, and he said he really wants to be your adjutant."
She paused, then said expectantly, "Sis would rather leave the outer space than not stay by my sister's side, or for my relationship with Xuanluo." She timidly gestured with her small hand from inside the black-haired man's arms, whispering, "Just a little bit more, just a little bit more..."
What Sith gave up was also decades of his hard work.
Shen Wangshu heard that he had disbanded the massive pirate crew, and he embarked on his journey home to Aifei alone.
“You…” Sith’s biggest dream since childhood was to be a pirate who roamed freely across the stars. Although this ideal was quite painful, the fact that he could give it up so easily still moved Effie.
“If I said I would give up everything for you, you would be very happy, but that’s not true.” Sith looked at Effie, whose face had darkened, with his narrow eyes and continued, “The pirate crew has been together for decades, and the original companions are becoming fewer and fewer. We are all tired.”
Pirates rarely meet a good end; they either perish in the ever-present natural disasters of the open world or die in the struggle for spoils. Sith said softly, "The old guard all wanted to leave with their loot, but those young ones..."
He smiled.
"It's a world for young people now, I can just leave the pirate crew to them."
However, Effie still understood that this man left his former home primarily for her sake.
“I’m homeless, so I have no choice but to rely on you,” Sith said with a smile.
“You can stay,” Effie said calmly, her eyes lowered.
She was just pitying this homeless guy, that's all.
"I'll be relying on you to support me from now on," the former pirate captain continued with a sigh.
Effie sneered and said coldly, "From the moment we met, I knew you were a collector of treasures. You must have amassed quite a lot over the years. All of it," she said to Sith in a deep voice, "must be handed over."
"You're not going to confiscate it, are you?" the pirate captain said with a worried look on his face.
"Of course not, I'm just guarding your treasure." If it were confiscated, this guy would probably be crying and begging to go on living, spending the rest of his life in Field.
Effie snorted coldly, pushed away the smiling man who was leaning in, and saw Shen Wangshu looking at her with a beaming smile. Fearing her sister would laugh at her, she dragged the handsome man, whose ribs hadn't fully healed and made him look particularly pitiful, out of the living room and shoved him into the guest room, ordering him to rest. Once her figure disappeared upstairs, Kerry finally let out a breath and whispered, "That man is terrifying."
“That’s right.” Lori said softly, touching the goosebumps on her arm. “Just one look at me and my heart skips a beat.”
Sith was not someone to be trifled with; his dangerously upturned eyes revealed a utter disregard for life.
