Chapter 122 The Ugly Husband (Part 9)

Fang Xuan lowered his eyes and looked at his clothes, which were covered in stains.

Shen Wangshu stretched out her long, snow-white hand, saying "Let me wipe it for you," and was about to swipe it across the person's body.

The pageboy beside him tried to curry favor with the Prince of Luan, even offering his hands, but the Prince of Luan was quite displeased.

She shoved the annoying pageboy into a corner, and when she saw Fang Xuan look up at her with his silent eyes, she couldn't help but blush and hummed, "No, don't misunderstand, I'm just wiping your clothes."

However, thinking of the firm chest she had just touched, she couldn't help but feel her heart flutter. A hint of tenderness appeared in her eyes as she whispered, "You're so strong... I like strong people." As expected of someone from the military, his body was muscular and taut. Prince Luan could tell just by touching him what a strong body he was, and he almost drooled.

The eldest princess silently tilted her head back and took a sip of wine, her face contorted in pain.

A man's beauty lies in his softness; what's the fun in someone who's all stiff and rigid?

Moreover, seeing the lingering desire on her younger sister's beautiful face, the eldest princess silently held back a word.

Her sister has such different tastes, could it be that... subconsciously her sister actually prefers strong women?

She was afraid that this guess would make her sister spit blood in her face, so she held back and didn't say anything. However, observing from the sidelines, her sister was indeed very fond of Fang Xuan, who resembled a woman. After hesitating for a moment, she remained silent.

She would rather her sister like an ugly man than have her sister get involved with any woman.

"It's nothing." Fang Xuan blushed, realizing he wasn't the shameless Shen Wangshu of this life, and said softly.

He certainly felt the woman's hand make two meaningful strokes on his body.

It was only because of His Highness Prince Luan that he was in charge. If it were anyone else, General Fang might have already chopped them into dumpling filling as a madman.

However, with soup still on his clothes, Fang Xuan felt very uncomfortable. He apologized to Prince Xiao and got up to change his clothes.

However, his physique differed from that of Prince Xiao, so he couldn't fit into the elegant and dashing clothes, nor could he wear the tall and slender clothes of the eldest princess. He had to borrow a set of new clothes, which hadn't even been worn yet, from a maidservant beside the eldest princess to change. Shen Wangshu eagerly wanted to follow, but the eldest princess, looking extremely worried, pressed him down, saying with increasing helplessness, "What are you going to do? Are you going to be a lecher?"

Shen Wangshu then realized that it was not proper for a woman to change a man's clothes in this world, as it was tantamount to taking advantage of him, but she stubbornly snorted and said, "Ah Xuan and I are to be betrothed."

"You can do whatever you want after the wedding," the eldest princess said irritably. "You're so spineless!"

"For Ah Xuan's sake, I'd rather be a nobody," Shen Wangshu said, becoming increasingly eloquent.

Xiao Wangjun's smile became even more gentle and dignified.

The eldest princess was so worried that her hair was about to fall out.

.

She's a strong woman, how could she say anything that showed weakness to her husband? But Prince Xiao was really giving him a headache.

They've already had a daughter, what's going on now? What's this old married couple doing, causing all this trouble?

"Stop eating and hurry back to your own palace." The eldest princess felt she couldn't keep her younger sister any longer, or her own backyard would be on fire. Seeing her looking at her pitifully, she snorted and continued, "I will apologize to General Fang. There will be no banquet at the palace today."

She was on tenterhooks, but when she found that Prince Xiao hadn't contradicted her, she breathed a sigh of relief, thinking that her husband was still on her side. She said with a gloomy face, "You better behave yourself during this time. If you cause any trouble, I'll beat you up!" He waved his hand, telling Shen Wangshu and Fang Xuan, who had changed his clothes, to get out of there quickly, before sighing and closing the palace.

Shen Wangshu and Fang Xuan were locked outside the Xiao Prince's mansion, looking at each other in bewilderment.

Although his clothes were somewhat rough, Fang Xuan's aura did not diminish. He stood beside Shen Wangshu, his tall figure enveloping the beautiful princess.

Several maids from the Prince Luan's residence followed behind Shen Wangshu with miserable expressions, looking up at the man who was two heads taller than their princess.

"I'll take you back to the camp." Shen Wangshu couldn't bring the unmarried Fang Xuan home today. Seeing that Fang Xuan seemed determined to stay by her side, she wanted to show her strong, independent side even more, and said softly.

How wonderful it is to be escorted by a woman!

Fang Xuan felt a warmth in his heart, but after looking at Shen Wangshu's frail body, he shook his head and said, "I'll take you."

"Let me take you?" Shen Wangshu said with a smile.

The tall man shook his head and insisted, "I'll take you." He paused, then said softly, "I'm worried about you."

"Then you can take me home." Actually, being escorted home by her lover made Princess Luan feel very happy. She didn't feel ashamed at all that a dignified woman was being escorted by a man. She happily walked back to the Luan Prince's residence with Fang Xuan. Under the dismayed gazes of the maids, she leaned against the door and watched Fang Xuan's tall figure disappear. Only then did her expression change, and she helped a maid back to her own residence, groaning.

Her body was delicate to begin with, and she was quite tired from walking back with Fang Xuan. However, she got up the next morning and quickly put on her clothes.

She attended the morning court session again, though she didn't seem very energetic; however, it was quite an achievement that she was even able to attend.

Today, her companions, the eldest princess and the second princess, are also looking haggard.

The eldest princess looked exhausted, the second princess looked ashen, and all three princesses looked listless, which drew attention.

The Empress naturally saw it too. Her gaze flickered and fell on the Second Princess for a moment, but she didn't say anything more.
