Chapter 131 The Stepdaughter of a Wealthy Family (Part 5)

"Why bother with him?" Shen Wangshu said dismissively.

Dongfang Xuan took a deep breath and nodded to Shen Wangshu.

He hesitated for a moment, then couldn't help but ask Shen Wangshu, "Aren't you going to ask them how your mother is?"

He knew that Shen Wangshu cared deeply for his mother. Although he didn't like abandoning his second daughter for Si Xin's sake, and knowing that leaving with a strange young man would also cause worry, he still chose to stay by Si Jiali's side as his eldest daughter. He could at least offer a word of comfort and maybe even gain some goodwill in return. He spoke to Shen Wangshu with the utmost concern, but Shen Wangshu only gave him a half-smile.

With just one glance, the boy knew he had been exposed.

“I don’t like your mother and your sister,” he said softly, his eyes lowered.

"Because my mother abandoned me?" Shen Wangshu asked with a smile as she walked with him in the bright corridor of the senior high school building, seeing the students in the corridor all showing respect to Dongfang Xuan.

The boy nodded, moved his fingertips, and the students disappeared at lightning speed, showing great foresight.

“She didn’t abandon me, but…” In this life, perhaps in Scarlett’s eyes, the eldest daughter was the more pitiful one.

Shen Wangshu didn't resent Si Jiali, because Si Jiali had already given her life for her. She lowered her clear eyes, knowing that she would probably have to let her down for the rest of her life. In Si Jiali's life, only her two daughters were the most important. For her two daughters, she was even willing to give up men and a wealthy life.

But these two daughters are destined to become enemies, and she will use all her means to send Sixin to hell.

Si Jiali would be in great pain if she lost Si Xin.

The root of her pain was probably her youngest daughter.

Shen Wangshu would not regret doing this, but he could not bear to witness Si Jiali's heartbreaking grief.

She lost her daughter in her past life, and she is destined to lose her daughter again in this life.

"She's still young, she can have another child later," Dongfang Xuan comforted Shen Wangshu.

“The feeling is different.” Shen Wangshu smiled.

However, she clearly had no intention of not killing Sixin for the sake of Scarlett; in fact, it seemed that she had to kill Sixin even more for Scarlett's sake.

She suddenly stopped in the corridor, staring blankly at the school gate in the far distance. Si Xin threw herself into Nangong Yao's arms, curling up in front of him amidst his somewhat indifferent movements. She even mustered the courage to tiptoe and kiss his chin before running into the prestigious academy.

She was a freshman in the university department, which was quite far from the school gate. Shen Wangshu couldn't see the shy and happy expression on Si Xin's face. She just smiled and watched Nangong Yao leave without looking back, and said softly, "She really likes Nangong Yao."

She only said a few words to him, and he started throwing himself into her arms.

In her past life, Si Xin wouldn't have had such courage.

Dongfang Xuan watched Si Xin's retreating figure expressionlessly, then put his arm around Shen Wangshu and continued walking. Ahead of them, a group of school officials were rubbing their hands together and smiling obsequiously at them. Then Shen Wangshu saw her homeroom teacher walk over quickly and give Dongfang Xuan a very ingratiating smile.

Shen Wangshu thought about the tragic love story in the wealthy family she had just witnessed, and then looked at the now noticeably more refreshing campus life. If she didn't have a strong mental fortitude, she might have developed a mental breakdown. Helplessly, she followed behind her homeroom teacher, listening to all sorts of flattery.

Dongfang Xuan was clearly used to it; his smile was warm and gentle, showing no sign of annoyance whatsoever.

Perhaps he actually enjoys being flattered.

The teaching facilities at the aristocratic academy were excellent. As soon as Shen Wangshu entered, she saw that even the desks were very luxurious and sparkling clean. Dongfang Xuan sat down next to Shen Wangshu with an air of nonchalance, amidst the students' subtle admiration. The desks that were originally separate were moved over and joined together with Shen Wangshu's.

He lay on his desk, burying his head in his arms, revealing a pair of beautiful eyes as he watched the girl beside him, whose hair was tied up with a black hair tie, take out her textbooks one by one. At that moment, he felt his life become warmer.

Life was peaceful and serene; he felt he could watch her like this for the rest of his life.

Although he was rebellious, no one cared about him, and Shen Wangshu was equally unwilling for the boy to be so far away from her.

She placed the book in the middle and winked at the boy.

"You don't have any textbooks on your first day at your new school, right?" she asked gently.

The boy innocently shook his head and said, "No."

Before he could finish speaking, the homeroom teacher at the door, with an unchanged smile, tossed a stack of textbooks out of the classroom. He then walked over to Shen Wangshu and said very kindly, "The school is short of funds, and I'm afraid the textbooks won't arrive for a long time. I'll have to trouble you to take care of the new student, Si."

He felt he had flattered the boy very well; a subtle look of approval from Dongfang Xuan made him puff out his chest, oblivious to the disdainful stares of the other students. Shen Wangshu couldn't help but laugh, her eyes crinkling as she pushed her textbook toward the boy.

A slightly cool finger rested on the girl's fingers beneath the pages of the book.

The homeroom teacher pretended not to see it.

Early romantic relationships... that's acceptable.

He turned and left, casually inviting the teacher to come in and begin the lesson.

Shen Wangshu found being a high school student to be a novel experience.

What surprised her was that she seemed to have become a student with excellent grades.

Sichun was already an excellent student; all the knowledge she learned was in Shen Wangshu's mind. She could know all the answers with just a glance at the textbook, and even if the teacher was explaining something, she would understand it immediately. Her unusual focus made her concentrate on what was ahead, rather than on the boy.
