Chapter 147 Heavenly Emperor (Part 7)

In the midst of the raging storm, the fragments of space were so sharp that they could almost slice even immortals into pieces.

The nine-headed bird let out a series of cries, its beautiful feathers torn and flying about, now stained with thick blood.

That was the blood of the nine-headed bird.

Wang Shu Shaojun was pressed into the belly of the strange bird by its sharp claws, feeling no storm at all. However, the immense pressure and gale-force winds caused several bloody streaks to appear on her face. As a spirit sword with a spiritual connection, her body was naturally very tough, yet she could not withstand this violent storm, and she was even more worried about the nine-headed bird that was tightly protecting her.

The blood turned into streaks in the wind, spreading little by little in the space. It struggled desperately, trying to break free from the eye of the storm and flap its wings in the wind.

Wang Shu Shaojun sank into its soft belly and tried to struggle, but the strange bird cried out twice.

It seemed that there was a hint of sternness in that voice.

Her vision blurred, and she instinctively gripped the sharp claws that were digging into her.

Below her, a bird's claw was tightly gripping the Six Paths Immortal Lord. The young man didn't look too good either, after all, his cultivation was not as good as that of Xuanxi Heavenly Lord and Wangshu Young Lord. At this moment, one of his arms was covered in blood, but he tried his best to press down his clothes.

A faint protective aura emanated from his body, shielding the small protrusion struggling within his clothes. However, he quickly ran out of strength, and a small, emerald-green snake emerged from his clothes. The snake twitched and nuzzled the young man before exhaling a breath of green gas into the protective aura.

In the blink of an eye, they were all protected. Only then did the Six Paths Immortal Lord have the strength to move his body and try to make his captured position more comfortable.

He even had time to glance jealously at Wangshu Shaojun beneath the belly of the Hidden Lord.

The female immortal looked so comfortable nestled in the soft, fluffy belly of the strange bird; it was far better than his position, being held up by the neck.

However, upon seeing the bloodstains beginning to burst on the strange bird's body, his expression turned serious again. He gritted his teeth, thought for a moment, and was about to throw out his Soul-Shocking Bell, while giving Shu Shaojun a resentful look.

If it weren't for these two stirring up trouble, he would still have the Reincarnation Tower to use. Now that the Reincarnation Tower is useless, he can't use any of his abilities. As he thought this, he felt the fierce storm, its pressure and sharpness so great that even immortals couldn't withstand it. And that strange bird, injured and struggling in the storm for a long time, was also exhausted.

It seemed to be using its last bit of strength to try and escape the eye of the storm.

However, just as it suddenly sank and was about to collapse, a flicker appeared outside the endless storm.

As its blood spread through the space with the gale, eventually settling in one spot, a sliver of light slowly diffused, eventually transforming into a huge opening in the space.

Within it, divine light shone brightly, exuding an incomparably pure celestial aura, and pavilions and towers faintly shimmered.

A beam of light swept in from the opposite direction, engulfing the strange bird and carrying it away through the incredibly fierce wind.

The mighty storm seemed both wary of and indifferent to the rosy glow, remaining unmoved as the strange bird was swept away, and instead howled and swept further into the distance.

Wherever the storm went, everything turned to nothingness.

The radiant light remained unmoved, instantly engulfing the strange bird into the vast, shimmering space. Wang Shu Shaojun, feeling dizzy and disoriented, sensed the strange bird being thrown to the ground.

The enormous nine-headed bird let out a mournful cry, struggling to shield its beloved with its wings and belly, before slumping to one side, its massive body stretched out in agony. At least half of its magnificent feathers were missing, revealing a gaping wound beneath, its remaining feathers stained crimson with blood. It looked utterly wretched, barely clinging to life. In the blink of an eye, its nine heads vanished, leaving only a single, enormous bird head.

Its upturned eyes stared intently at its lover struggling to crawl out from beneath it.

Wang Shu Shaojun eagerly crawled out, hugged its big head, and feeling that it was weak, hurriedly fed it countless elixirs and herbs.

She didn't care about the scenery around her; she only looked at the huge, strange bird with the most concerned and heartbroken eyes.

It seems that Xuanxi Tianjun has been getting hurt ever since he met me.

"It's alright now." This space was very stable, and there was an indescribable pressure. Wang Shu Shaojun felt the mystery of this place, so he let the strange bird rest its head on his lap and gently stroked the feathers on its head.

A single tear fell from her eye.

At that time, what kind of feelings did Xuanxi Tianjun, who could not transform into human form, have when he tried to break through the bloodline restriction that had bound him for ten thousand years and transformed into a beast form?

But she wished he hadn't transformed into this strange bird; at least then he wouldn't have gotten hurt. She watched as it struggled to raise its only head, rubbing its face with its cold, stiff beak. Though too exhausted to speak, a faint joy shone in its beautiful phoenix eyes. It seemed that protecting her made it incredibly happy.

At this point, saying anything is superfluous.

She could only hold its head and say nothing.

Xuanxi Tianjun's injuries were only superficial wounds, seemingly serious but actually just exhaustion, yet she was still heartbroken.

Only those who truly care would be willing to be the ones to get hurt at such a time.

"How is the Heavenly Lord?" Unlike Wang Shu Shaojun, Liu Dao Xianjun was not so lucky; he was covered in blood from being caught in the eye of the storm. He felt like he had survived a catastrophe. He first took out the little green snake that was cowering in his arms and checked it over. Seeing that it was not injured, he put Xiao Liu aside with peace of mind. He swallowed a handful of elixirs—he didn't know what they were, but at this time, anything he ate would definitely be effective—and felt his body recovering. Only then did he rush to the strange bird with mixed feelings.
