Chapter 71 On the Downfall of the Stallion Male Protagonist (Part Two)

The fox continued to dangle in Shen Wangshu's hand.

It remained motionless, its round eyes wide open.

After a while, it realized that it had been caught by humans. It shrieked and waved its four short, chubby little paws vigorously in front of Shen Wangshu.

Shen Wangshu thought the fox was very cute.

She knew it when she grabbed the fox by the tail and lifted it up. It was just an ordinary little fox demon that had just been born. Although it was a demon, the spiritual energy in its body was very weak, and it looked rather dull.

Her cool gaze swept over the trail of blood on the fox's hind leg. After a moment's hesitation, she pressed down on the fox's fluffy little head and used a method that wouldn't harm it to search its soul. She found that its consciousness wasn't fully awakened yet, and it was completely unaware of everything. She couldn't help but chuckle and sigh, rubbing the little thing's soft ears as she said, "Who's so heartless!"

Leaving a little fox in this bitterly cold, snowy place is practically killing it.

Even the thickest fur will freeze into a fox popsicle.

Her hands were slightly cold, but she rubbed the fox's ears very gently. The fox trembled and a look of confusion appeared in its eyes.

It hummed softly in comfort, rubbing its little head into Shen Wangshu's palm.

However, after rubbing against him, the fox felt it was a disgrace to the fox demon, and immediately squeaked and bared its teeth at Shen Wangshu.

It looked indignant, as if it really hated humans.

"I, the Daoist Master, saved you, and you don't even know how to be grateful." If Shen Wangshu hadn't discovered it, this fox cub would have frozen to death on the ice peak.

Shen Wangshu then grabbed the fox's chubby, fluffy tail and swung it back and forth in mid-air.

Her smile was malicious, clearly meant to bully the fox. The little fox's eyes glistened with tears, whether from fear or anger, it was hard to tell. It barked furiously at Shen Wangshu.

Its fluffy body was all puffed up into a ball, still barely curled up in mid-air, its two front paws clutching its suffering tail, huffing and puffing as it tried to rescue its big tail from Shen Wangshu's grasp. It was extremely focused, its round eyes fixed on its furry paws, occasionally squeaking, as if this was the most important thing to it.

Shen Wangshu looked at its twitching ears and smiled helplessly.

She placed her other hand on the fox's hind leg.

The fox looked up at her warily.

But for some reason, its eyes were always a little dazed. It could have shown its little milk teeth and bit Shen Wangshu's fair hand that was so close to its mouth, but it didn't.

It twitched its ears as it watched the beautiful female cultivator with a serene smile place her hand on its hind leg. A flash of spiritual light emanated from her hand, startling the fox. But in the blink of an eye, the wound on its hind leg vanished in the light. It seemed utterly astonished, forgetting to clutch its large tail, and hurriedly struggled, waving its little paws at the fur on its hind leg. To its surprise, it found its wound gone and couldn't help but look up at Chen Wangshu and squeak.

This time, its cries revealed its affection for Shen Wangshu, and it even tentatively licked Shen Wangshu's fingers in front of its eyes.

It licked its fair fingertips, seemed to find them delicious, and then greedily took another bite.

It regarded Shen Wangshu's fingers as a new discovery and was extremely surprised.

Seeing that the fox had forgotten its bad temper and had obviously forgotten its pitiful tail, Shen Wangshu couldn't help but laugh and rub its soft, furry ears.

The fox's pointed ears were pressed down by the snow-white hand, making the fox look pitiful.

But the fox seemed to be enjoying it, tilting its head back and squinting its fox eyes.

“From now on…” Shen Wangshu originally wanted to keep the fox by his side, but hesitated for a moment.

Her monastery was too lonely, with no scenery to speak of, just pure white and cold. She really didn't want the fox to live with her in this desolate place.

"I'll send you to the sect's spirit beast garden."

The spirit beast garden of Guangming Sect mainly houses various spirit beasts raised by the sect's cultivators. They are cared for uniformly by the sect and the conditions are quite good. This fox could find playmates there, and more importantly, it might feel more at ease in the spirit beast garden. Shen Wangshu hesitated for a moment, looking at the fluffy fox happily licking her fingers as it hung in front of her. For some reason, she felt a strange reluctance, as if the fox was very important to her. She was slightly surprised by this feeling.

"Could it be my destined spirit beast?" she murmured softly, looking at the snow-white fur ball.

The fox twitched its ears, tilted its head back, and looked at her with its bright, darting eyes.

It seemed to know she was going to throw it somewhere else, and suddenly started squeaking and waving its furry paws, clinging tightly to Shen Wangshu's fingers.

It seemed to regard Shen Wangshu as a very important person. Shen Wangshu's heart softened, and she lowered her head and asked with a smile, "If you want to stay here with me, you will be very lonely."

The fox couldn't understand such complicated words, and remained motionless while clinging to Shen Wangshu's hand, seemingly clinging to her. Since it had come to her, Shen Wangshu decided to accept it with a smile. After all, she felt that having a fox to play with in her lonely cultivation life would be a unique pleasure. She smiled and took out a jade talisman, waving it in front of the fox.

"From now on, you will be my spirit beast," she said to the fox, infusing her spiritual energy into the jade talisman.

She is already the most powerful cultivator in the world, so she doesn't need a powerful spirit beast to enhance her life. She'll let things take their course. She likes this fox quite a bit, so what's the harm in signing a contract with it?

She loosened the fox's tail, placed the furry ball on her arm, and told it to look at the jade talisman in its hand.
