Chapter 73 On the Downfall of the Stallion Male Protagonist (Part 4)

Standing in the icy spring was a beautiful and ethereal woman.

Her face was serene as she gently scooped up the icy spring water and poured it over herself.

The sunlight, like shattered jade, fell on her smooth shoulders, reflecting off the crystal-clear water droplets and creating endless radiance.

The fox stood there, unable to look away.

It should have been the most indifferent and emotionless of creatures, but looking at the woman so close to him, there was a strange sense of familiarity in her bright, fox-like eyes.

It held its dangling paw and quietly watched the beautiful woman. She lowered her head slightly, saw the fluffy white ball at the cave entrance, paused for a moment, then smiled indulgently. Her smile was so gentle, so familiar, that it brought tears to the fox's eyes, as if it had seen an identical smile before.

It retracted its menacing claws and silently pressed them to the ground.

It felt that it must have seen her somewhere before.

So familiar, so very familiar, exactly like that time, the woman who would suddenly appear in its dreams, even when it was cultivating.

In its dreams, she has different appearances and postures, but what remains unchanged are her unique eyes and soul.

It couldn't resist walking step by step to the edge of the icy spring, oblivious to the annoying water that soaked its fur. It simply tilted its little head and silently watched her. When she wiped the water from her face and gave a puzzled look, it moved its pointed little beak and murmured softly, "Squeak..."

As soon as the sound came out, it froze, looked down at its own furry, silly-looking body, and collapsed helplessly to the ground.

Although listless, it propped up its hind legs and kicked hard, trying to rub its little body closer to Shen Wangshu.

"Squeak!"

Seeing the fox looking so sad, as if it had something to say to her but couldn't say it, Shen Wangshu couldn't help but walk over and pat the fox's little head.

"Once you can take human form, you'll be able to speak," she comforted with a smile.

The fox seemed even more frustrated.

It looked at its short, chubby little paws with a depressed expression and whimpered softly.

"Don't you dislike water?" The fox disliked getting its fluffy fur wet, so it had always avoided the icy spring, yet it had actually come in this time.

Seeing its listless state, as if it couldn't bear to be apart from her, Shen Wangshu felt even more pity for it. She picked up its little paw and said with a smile, "Don't you miss me?" She was only wearing an undergarment. The fox looked up and froze. Just now, when it was emotionally shaken, its gaze was focused on Shen Wangshu's face, but seeing this, its eyes fell on her snow-white breasts.

The slightly undulating curves were hidden beneath the half-concealed inner garment, soaked by the icy spring water, appearing and disappearing, and one could actually see a faint cherry red...

"Pfft..." The fox suddenly covered its nose.

It was always quiet and calm, like the body of a ten-thousand-year-old ice peak throbbing violently, with hot blood flowing through its body.

Drops of blood dripped from the fox's furry paws onto the ground.

The fox twitched its ears and lowered its head. Seeing the drops of blood, it secretly twitched its pointed mouth and looked up nervously at the silent Shen Wangshu.

"Pfft!" It looked up and saw Shen Wangshu looking down at it with concern. Her jade arm stretched out, and her fair and soft skin became even clearer as she leaned down.

Shen Wangshu watched helplessly as her fluffy little fox repeatedly coughed up nosebleeds, the fox seemingly turning into a plump little dumpling, its round eyes turning red.

This change caused Shen Wangshu to suddenly narrow her eyes. She silently placed her hand on the fox's head, and a vast surge of spiritual energy emanated from her hand, flowing into its fluffy little head. Her expression turned somewhat cold, and her gaze towards the fox became wary, clearly showing suspicion. After all, her fox was young and innocent, adorable, and certainly wouldn't get a nosebleed just because it saw someone bathing.

She didn't think about anything else, only worried that her spirit beast would be possessed by someone else.

If someone wants to use her only spirit beast to plot against her, then possession is quite normal.

Although Shen Wangshu did not feel any change in the spirit beast contract between himself and the fox, and his soul remained undisturbed, he was still very wary.

The fox froze for a moment when it saw the coldness in Shen Wangshu's eyes.

It moved its paws uneasily, its tail straightened, and looked up at Shen Wangshu. After a moment's hesitation, it tilted its head and returned to its usual bewildered state.

The fox's bright eyes still held a hint of grievance, as if it didn't understand why its owner was treating it this way.

Normally, Shen Wangshu would have given it a kiss and a hug by now. But she wasn't in the mood for that. She lowered her gaze and looked at it, carefully searching its meridians with her spiritual energy. She sensed a strong spiritual energy lurking within its bloodline, but there was no sign of it trying to possess her.

Surprised by the sheer amount of spiritual energy, Shen Wangshu quickly realized something. He grabbed the fox by the tail, pulled it in front of him, brought it to the fox's mouth, and gently sniffed it. His expression changed slightly, and he frowned, saying, "Did it steal the elixir?"

The fox curled its four paws in front of its belly, its head drooping, determined to play dead.

But when Shen Wangshu approached, its body tensed up even more, as if it was trying to suppress its desire to pounce on her and lick her.

Its head was drooping, its ears were limply lying on its little head, and its big tail was hanging on the ground. It looked extremely pitiful.
