Chapter 76 On the Downfall of the Stallion Male Protagonist (Part 7)

"I'm looking for you," the fox-eared youth said in a low voice after a moment of silence.

He looked up, and dappled light flashed in his shimmering eyes. That moment of brightness sent a tingling, aching pain through Shen Wangshu's heart.

He met Shen Wangshu's gaze quietly, all the allure from before gone, replaced by sincere emotion flowing in his eyes. He reached out and placed his hands on Shen Wangshu's, his gaze becoming distant, as if recalling something, and softly said, "From the moment I gained sentience, I have always known that I have a lover." He felt Shen Wangshu's hands trembling, took them in his, and chuckled softly, saying, "I look at her, every moment. With her, I can no longer see anyone else."

"I will only love you, and I will only cultivate with you," he said in a low voice.

Shen Wangshu felt a lump in her throat.

"How long have you been searching?" she asked with difficulty.

Completely different from previous lives, in this cultivation world, a hundred years have passed in the blink of an eye.

She had no idea how many years this person had been searching for her, or how many years of loneliness he had endured.

"More than two thousand years, I suppose." The fox-eared youth didn't seem to care, a faint smile still playing at the corners of his eyes. He seemed unsurprised that he hadn't found you after searching for a thousand years. He chuckled and said, "The important thing is, I've found you."

He never mentioned his past life, and Shen Wangshu understood why. Even though the young man was somewhat persistent, Shen Wangshu still pulled herself closer to his embrace. He was only wearing a snow-white silk robe, which had slipped from his jade-like shoulders to his arms during their earlier entanglement, revealing his delicate collarbone and a large expanse of his fair and smooth chest.

Shen Wangshu leaned against him, feeling him lean in and hug her, pressing his body against her burning skin, yet she felt no desire.

She listened quietly to his heartbeat.

“…Xiao Xuan.” She compromised and reached out to hug his waist.

The fox-eared youth's lips curled into a smug smile, unseen by Shen Wangshu, while his two ears twitched contentedly.

It's not Ah Xuan, it's Xiao Xuan!

He was indeed one of a kind to her!

Let those Ah Xuans be jealous!

He licked his moist lips, his body yearning for her to the point of almost exploding, yet he struggled to suppress the pounding in his heart. He didn't want to boast to Shen Wangshu, nor did he want to use his years of arduous cultivation and loneliness to elicit Shen Wangshu's guilt towards him. Therefore, he wouldn't tell his beloved in his arms how furious the fox clan was that he refused to sleep with a member of their clan, thus leaving behind the bloodline of the celestial fox.

He would never mention how many ruthless things he did in those years to gain a foothold in the fox clan and stop being bossed around.

He would only tell her that they would always be together.

Once cultivators in the cultivation world reach their level, they can live for thousands or even tens of thousands of years, as long as they don't perish along the way.

What's two thousand years? He and she have many more two thousand years to live together.

He turned his head and kissed the top of Shen Wangshu's cold hair, a hint of satisfaction in his eyes.

"What happened with turning into a cub?" Shen Wangshu hugged him quietly for a while, then suddenly asked, "Why did you try to break through to the Mahayana stage?"

The fox-eared youth silently twitched his ears, coughed, and whispered, "I couldn't find you in the cultivation world, so I thought you were in the immortal realm."

He searched for his lover almost frantically, but she was nowhere to be found. Unable to locate her, he felt an overwhelming sense of panic and madness rising within him. Since she wasn't in this world of cultivation, he would go to the Immortal Realm to find her. Even if it meant being shattered to pieces, even knowing full well that becoming an immortal was a path fraught with peril, he was willing to try.

He secluded himself to attempt to reach the Mahayana level of cultivation, all for the sake of his beloved.

But at the most crucial moment of his breakthrough to Mahayana Buddhism, his usually icy heart would suddenly skip a beat.

"That almost cost me my life." He whispered honestly in Shen Wangshu's ear, "My dantian shattered on the spot and turned into a cub. That was how I saved my life."

With his last breath, he tore open a spatial rift and chased after her when he sensed that familiar soul fluctuation, but before he could find her, his consciousness was completely sealed. He hadn't expected to be so lucky to be rescued by his lover. Thinking of this, a faint smile appeared on his face, and he whispered, "This is our destiny." Even in his dazed state, his body still remembered her.

Just like his Shushu, even if she doesn't recognize him, she is willing to keep him by her side.

He felt Shen Wangshu tighten her grip on his hand, turning it pale. He quickly smoothed her hand and said gently, "It's just reshaping my dantian. Now that the demon core is formed, as long as I keep up with my cultivation, I can recover my realm soon."

Of course, after recovering this time, he won't risk his life trying to reach the Mahayana stage.

Now that he's found his lover, why is he still making a fuss?

“I saw you once from afar, but you weren’t who you were then.” Seeing Shen Wangshu get up and busy organizing her storage bracelet, as if she wanted to stuff all the best elixirs into her mouth, Xiao Xuan’s gaze softened. He got up and pulled her back into his arms, smiling as he said, “It’s strange, you are different, yet you blend together perfectly.”

Every cultivator lights a natal spirit lamp in the sect's Everlasting Hall. Once they perish or are possessed by someone else, the natal spirit lamp will go out on the spot.

In the Changming Hall, there is always a disciple who keeps an eye on the Yuan Shen lamps at all times.

Once extinguished, the sect will immediately know.

However, there has been no reaction from Guangming Sect for so long, which clearly indicates that Lingxiao Daojun's natal spirit lamp is still burning.
