Sheng Jia not only owns shares in the Sheng family, but also a vast number of shares in the massive Gao Group, which were given to him as a dowry by the deceased elders of the Gao family. Although this portion of shares is not as large as Gao Sen's, it can still influence the Gao Group's movements, and if they unite with the minority shareholders, they could even challenge Gao Sen.
Of course, Sheng Jia is Gao Sen's wife, and she's just being unreasonable by going against him.
Therefore, Gao Sen didn't care about the shares she held in the Gao family business; he knew, of course, that his wife would always stand by him.
But Sheng Jia is already dead.
If she leaves all her shares to Gao Xi, the child will have a long time to grow up. During this time, Gao Sen will rightfully become the executor of the shares under Gao Xi's name. Not only that, Sheng Jia clearly understands that even if they made vows of eternal love in life, when she dies, Gao Sen may fall in love with another woman and have more children.
She didn't dare gamble on whether Gao Xi would still be genuinely loved by her father.
There are too many women with ulterior motives, and given the enormous wealth of the Gao Group, anyone could be tempted to take the risk.
If Gao Xi dies, his father Gao Sen will inherit all of his property, which will then become the wealth of Gao Sen's other children.
The shares under Gao Xi's name may very well become his death warrant.
She couldn't leave all the large shares to Gao Xi, and although Sheng's parents were loving, they were quite old and couldn't stay healthy enough to wait for Gao Xi to grow up. So, it was uncertain whether they could protect those shares for Gao Xi.
Of the remaining two siblings, Sheng Jia rationally chose his unassuming younger sister as his heir.
She is a truly intelligent woman. If she had always been there, even if Chu Xiangyun had appeared and still managed to steal Gao Sen's heart, she would have protected Gao Xi very well.
Shen Wangshu lowered her eyes and handed her simple business card to the man in front of her.
As a courtesy, the man handed Shen Wangshu a similarly simple business card and said, "Lei Xuan." He saw Shen Wangshu suddenly look up at him, paused for a moment, then pointed to the child behind him and continued, "Lei Tian."
They really are father and son.
Shen Wangshu calmly withdrew his gaze.
Since they are father and son, it can't be Ah Xuan. Even if the names are similar, she believes that Ah Xuan is someone else.
Moreover, the man's gaze towards her was completely calm, devoid of any affection.
"Yao Yao." Gao Sen frowned as he looked at the handsome man exchanging pleasantries with Shen Wangshu at the villa entrance.
The man with black hair and black eyes gave him the feeling of seeing one of his own kind. This feeling of being challenged made him very uncomfortable, especially since Gao Sen had noticed Shen Wangshu's sudden change in expression. He quickly walked to Shen Wangshu's side and said reluctantly, "It's still early, stay with... stay with your sister." His gaze fell painfully on the photos of his wife in the living room. The overwhelming pain there was enough to make one's heart ache.
"Mr. Gao, please have some self-respect." Shen Wangshu dragged her suitcase past Gao Sen.
A large hand pressed down on her hand, then quickly released it in an instant.
"I'll help you." Clearly, a man of good character wouldn't stand by and watch a woman carry a heavy suitcase by herself.
Shen Wangshu thanked the man gratefully, then walked over to the two children with the huge photo between her fingers, and bent down to pinch Lei Tian.
"Don't pinch my majestic face!" the chubby boy yelled, covering his face.
"From now on, I'll leave Xiaoxi in your care, Sir Knight. Can I trust you?" Shen Wangshu bent down and looked at him with a smile.
Her smile was gentle and beautiful. The fat knight looked up, a hint of confusion in his eyes, and his face involuntarily flushed red. However, not wanting to lose face, he brandished his sword and said triumphantly, "Never underestimate a knight's promise!" But then he secretly glanced at Shen Wangshu's beautiful face, coughed, and hummed, "I didn't expect you to have so many princesses! Here's the arrangement: you're the eldest princess, and he's the youngest. From now on, the knight will protect you!" He paused again, his eyes shining as he looked at Shen Wangshu.
Shen Wangshu looked at him with a bewildered expression.
The fat knight coughed forcefully and authoritatively.
"I need a kiss." Gao Xi pouted knowingly and leaned in to kiss the fat knight.
Well... that's how it is in fairy tales: the knight protects the princess, and the princess gives the knight a loving kiss.
"Shut up!" Shen Wangshu reacted quickly, reaching out to cover Gao Xi's mouth.
She looked at Gao Xi's nonchalant attitude, her lips twitched, and she glared at the knight who was tilting his head and tilting his chubby chin, waiting for a kiss. For a moment, she didn't know whether she should beat this kid who had stolen Gao Xi's first kiss to death or be magnanimous and "let bygones be bygones".
“A princess is a person of status and cannot kiss boys casually…” Shen Wangshu explained with difficulty under Gao Xi’s innocent gaze, “Of course, she also cannot kiss girls casually.”
"What about Auntie?" Gao Xi asked, tilting his head.
"You can kiss your aunt!"
The soft-spoken child smiled, his eyes crinkling. He beckoned Shen Wangshu to lean down, stood on tiptoe, and gently kissed Shen Wangshu's cheek, saying shyly, "I like Auntie."
His soft voice, still carrying a hint of childishness, melted Shen Wangshu's heart.
"What about me?!" The fat knight, having posed so skillfully but getting nothing in return, was instantly enraged.
Shen Wangshu leaned over and pulled him close, kissing his chubby little face. He felt it was soft, fleshy, and warm.
"From now on, the eldest princess will kiss you," Shen Wangshu said with a smile.
