It seemed that from the first time he met her, he became particularly attentive to her. When he pressed down on her hand that was on the suitcase, his heart clenched so tightly that it felt like it wouldn't beat, and even his soul trembled.
That unusual emotion puzzled him greatly.
From a young age, he was indifferent to human emotions, whether it was family, friendship, or love; none of these were important to him. All his attention was focused on his financial empire, and only when his wealth grew day by day did he feel that he had a real life.
He was always very cold to people and never felt anything for anyone, as if the gods had forgotten to give him the true human emotions from the moment he was born.
Without emotions, he can work more rationally.
He doesn't need to be entangled by emotions, so he is always very decisive and will strive to maximize the benefits for the conglomerate.
He always felt that this was the best way for him, and he even felt disgusted by the fact that more people around him were trying to please him.
His status was high and mighty, so many men and women surrounded him, but he didn't even bother to glance at them. He felt he would never get married because he couldn't bear the thought of living with another person.
Even if he had desires, these were normal male desires that could be eliminated with a refreshing cold shower or more work documents. What use were women then? He didn't need women, and therefore had no sons. Fortunately, he gained a nephew who was inexplicably given to him.
For Lei Xuan, not having to give birth himself and having an heir was enough.
However, he was cold-hearted and didn't think children needed to be treated gently, so he usually spoke very casually.
Until he met this woman.
He casually followed his nephew, who had been making a ruckus after reading a bunch of fairy tales, to see his great rescue work. But the woman he met made him change a little.
His gaze kept involuntarily drawn to where she was. Even though he tried to ignore her and pretend not to care, he couldn't help but pull his nephew to her house.
He had been trying to ignore the woman, but her laughter and gentle voice kept piercing his ears. This made Lei Xuan wary, and what made him even more wary was that when her face showed disapproval, his apology had already slipped out. He was inexplicably shocked by his own physical indiscretion.
But seeing Shen Wangshu looking at him with surprise, Lei Xuan felt that he couldn't be angry with her.
He even took it for granted that making her happy was what he should do.
Realizing he was feeling unusually different, Lei Xuan slowly stood up, walked to Shen Wangshu, and looked down at her.
He was much taller and stronger than her. This slender and delicate woman seemed as if he could easily break her. Lei Xuan watched as she looked up at him in surprise, her bright eyes seemingly containing countless beautiful colors, which made him momentarily dazed. More than the sudden realization that his soul was awakening, his heart was pounding fiercely.
His rationality slowly melted away in her smile, and a strange, warm joy spread through him.
He did not resist his feelings.
“Mr. Lei is a grown man, so he probably isn’t as meticulous as a woman,” Mrs. Sheng said with a smile, trying to smooth things over.
"If possible, Xiao Tian, please..." Lei Xuan keenly felt that he didn't like calling her Miss Sheng, and he also didn't like the name Sheng Yao. He felt that this woman had another name that should belong to him alone, and only he could call her that.
But the name stuck in his throat, seemingly ready to burst out at any moment, yet shrouded in a hazy mist, preventing him from recalling its exact form. He felt the name was about to emerge, yet he couldn't remember it no matter what he tried. This stifling feeling made his face darken. "Please take good care of me."
"Xiaotian and Xiaoxi are friends, so saying 'please' is a bit too formal," Shen Wangshu said casually.
Lei Xuan opened his mouth, frowning as he looked at Shen Wangshu.
“Xiaotian is my nephew. I’m busy with work and have neglected him a lot. I haven’t had time to teach him much.” He spoke patiently to Shen Wangshu, his face still stern, but his voice was much gentler. His eyes involuntarily fell into Shen Wangshu’s shimmering eyes.
He felt those eyes were incredibly familiar, as if he had held them in his heart for countless years, yet he couldn't recall where he had seen them before. His head throbbed slightly, but he didn't show any further reaction, saying softly, "If I've done anything wrong, please remind me."
Compared to what he was familiar with, he suddenly realized that what he liked more was the feeling of excitement he had when he felt unfamiliar with her.
That seemed to mean... she belonged to him alone.
“Of course.” Shen Wangshu thought Lei Xuan of the Lei Group was very modest.
She also liked Lei Tian very much. When she turned her head, she saw the chubby boy lying on the corner leading to the second floor, looking at her expectantly. She nodded to Lei Xuan and walked over to the chubby boy.
Of course, she didn't hear the tense whispers of the man behind her.
"You can call me Ah Xuan."
Even if Shen Wangshu heard it, she wouldn't call him that name. To her, there was only one Ah Xuan, and she wouldn't call another person by that name.
She walked quickly towards Lei Tian, and seeing the chubby little boy cautiously clutching the hem of her clothes, she led him to Gao Xi's room. Gao Xi was tidying up his small room with great effort. He was extremely thin, and his face was flushed from exhaustion after just placing a few of his fairy tale books on the bed. When he saw Shen Wangshu and Lei Tian enter, a big smile appeared on the boy's fair face.
