Chapter 25 Miss Xie's Broken Engagement 25

"You're welcome, Mr. Jing."

The assistant pushed Jing Yan into the elevator and sighed in his heart. He also understood why Jing Yan resolutely accepted the surgery, which was completely different from his previous resolute attitude.

All this started to change when I met Miss Xie.

The reason why Jing Yan did this was actually to prevent Miss Xie from being laughed at for marrying a disabled man. Although Jing Yan had already taken the position of CEO, it was inevitable that some people would talk behind her back.

After Jing Cheng finished talking to his mother on the phone, he felt relieved and received a call from Jing Zhiyang.

Jing Zhiyang told him that since he had realized his mistake, he should listen to Jing Yan's words in the future and not do stupid things again.

Jingcheng was obedient and sensible on the phone, but when he hung up, his face was gloomy and sullen.

Now everyone thinks that he is not as good as Jing Yan, so he wants to see how Jing Yan falls from the altar.

Jing Cheng returned to his love nest with Cheng Siyu, opened the door, and found the room empty. Usually, Cheng Siyu would leave a light on for him, but this had been unusual these days.

He sat on the sofa and sent a message to Cheng Siyu. Cheng Siyu replied that she was having a high school reunion and would be back late in the evening.

Jingcheng breathed a sigh of relief.

Once people become penniless, they become very sensitive.

But he knew that Cheng Siyu was not a materialistic woman. Now he was not left with nothing, and Cheng Siyu was still with him.

Better than those brothers.

At night, when Xie Shizhu was dozing off, she felt a warm touch on her lips.

Xie Shizhu opened his sleepy eyelids and subconsciously circled the person in front of him. What caught his eyes was the man's deep eyebrows and eyes.

Another sneak kiss?

Tsk.

"You're back?" Xie Shizhu asked, "So late?"

The two of them were so close that their breaths intertwined, and the temperature in the room suddenly became warm.

"Well, I'm a bit busy today."

Jing Yan slightly broke free from Xie Shizhu's shackles, and as soon as he finished speaking, the woman tightened her arms around his neck and pulled him closer again.

Jing Yan's dark pupils shrank and his heart began to pound.

Xie Shizhu raised his eyebrows and said, "Did you kiss me secretly just now?"

Jing Yan: “…”

Embarrassment flashed across his eyes and he coughed lightly.

Xie Shizhu let go of his neck, and his black hair scattered on the white pillow. The two different colors implied an unspoken temptation.

"Don't do this next time," Xie Shizhu blinked and smiled, "I won't refuse."

Jing Yan was slightly startled. When he looked at Xie Shizhu again, she had already pulled up the quilt and rolled herself up like sushi, revealing only a pair of sparkling eyes.

"Go to bed," Xie Shizhu's voice came through the quilt, a little muffled, "I still have to work tomorrow."

Jing Yan whispered "OK".

When he slept at night, he could feel Xie Shizhu putting his hands and feet on him again. Afraid of waking Xie Shizhu, he just lay there motionless.

Xie Shizhu opened her eyelids in the dark space and heard the man's breathing beside her ear. She smiled.

The next day, when Xie Shizhu woke up, she received a call from her parents, who were discussing postponing the wedding for two months. She was not surprised by this result.

It was even within her expectations.

With Xie Shizhu's charm, Jing Yan would never think that theirs was just a simple marriage as he did before.

A few days later, when going to bed at night, Jing Yan turned on the bedside lamp. The warm orange light set off the surroundings and cast a layer of light on Xie Shizhu's hair.

Xie Shizhu turned around, looked at Jing Yan, opened his eyes wide and said, "What's wrong?"

Jing Yan remained silent for a long time. Then he said, "I'm going abroad in a few days."

Xie Shizhu was startled, and sat up straight, his eyes blank. "Ah? Where are you going and what are you doing?"

Jing Yan took a deep breath and said, "If I go for surgery, I might become a normal person, or I might not wake up on the operating table."

As soon as he finished speaking, the room was filled with a solemn atmosphere.

If Xie Shizhu stops him, Jing Yanyan will regret it.

Xie Shizhu moved and leaned her head on his shoulder, the end of her hair accidentally brushing his chin, "Yeah, okay."

Jing Yan was slightly startled and looked at her subconsciously.

Xie Shizhu took the man's bony hand and interlocked their fingers. She pretended to be angry and said, "If you dare not wake up, I will remarry."

Jing Yan's heart suddenly tightened. He had not yet truly stood in the wedding hall with Xie Shizhu, nor had he placed the ring on her finger in front of everyone.

When he thought of Xie Shizhu being embraced by another man, his jealousy and possessiveness spread in his chest.

Jing Yan tightly grasped Xie Shizhu's hand, turned sideways, pressed her under him, and kissed her lips briefly, saying as if warning, "I won't allow it."

A sly look flashed across Xie Shizhu's eyes. She tilted her head, leaving only a side profile to Jing Yan. "Hmph, I'm very popular now. I'm rich and pretty, and there's a long queue of people who want to marry me."

Jing Yan pulled the quilt over their heads. Inside the narrow quilt, he gently pinched Xie Shizhu's chin with his fingertips. "Are you trying to piss me off? You've already gotten married to me."

Xie Shizhu was ambiguous: "Yeah."

Jing Yan was so angry that he laughed. The corners of his lips curled up slightly. He leaned close to her ear and said, "Wait until I come back to deal with you."

Xie Shizhu raised his eyebrows: "Okay."

On the way to send Jing Yan to the plane, not only Xie Shizhu but also her ex-fiancé Jing Cheng was sitting in the car.

When Jing Cheng learned that Jing Yan was going abroad for surgery, he became particularly active and enthusiastically served as Jing Yan's driver.

Jing Zhiyang was relieved to see Jing Cheng become sensible, and asked Jing Cheng and Jing Yan to study more, so as to ease the relationship between the brothers.

There were only three people in the car. Jing Cheng put his hands on the steering wheel with a cold look in his eyes.

The two people sitting in the back seat of the car looked at each other and probably guessed something in their hearts.

Xie Shizhu held Jing Yan's arm and leaned on his shoulder, looking like a happy newlywed woman.

Jing Yan smiled and said softly, "I'll leave the company to you for now. If you have any questions, just give me a video call."

Xie Shizhu nodded obediently, "Then your phone must be turned on 24 hours a day for me, otherwise I will be angry."

Jing Yan smiled indulgently and touched her cheek with his slender fingers, "Yes, I will."

Jing Cheng saw the two of them being so affectionate through the rearview mirror and sneered in his heart.

Who are you pretending to be like this for?

Everyone knows that Xie Shizhu was broken off the engagement by himself, and chose Jing Yan as a second choice.

Jing Yan is now undergoing surgery, but the success rate is only a pitiful seven percent.

Thinking of this, a hint of mockery flashed across Jing Cheng's eyes.

Who knows, you might never come back.

He wanted to see how long Xie Shizhu could remain so proud. Living as a widow was truly a great shame in life.

When they arrived at the airport, Jing Cheng stopped the car and the two people in the back seat left, leaving him alone.

Jing Cheng sneered, unbuckled his seat belt, got out of the car and followed them.

The assistant had already been waiting for Jing Yan at the airport. After picking up Jing Yan, he said to Xie Shizhu, "Madam, don't worry. I will take good care of him."

Xie Shizhu stared at Jing Yan reluctantly, with red circles under his eyes.
