Why is he angry?
Qiao Zhen felt like she might have a fake brain; why couldn't she find the reason why Qi Yijuan was angry?
The boy had worked very hard this afternoon and hadn't rested well, so Qiao Zhen couldn't let him go hungry and angry in the middle of the night. Therefore, she didn't rush to comfort Qi Yijuan, but went back to the kitchen to make the sweet egg again.
She put a lot of thought into this, using the best eggs she had picked from the cupboard. After making it, Qiao Zhen even tasted it herself; the sweet flavor delighted her taste buds. So she took the sugar-coated eggs to find the boy.
The door to Qi Yijuan's bedroom wasn't locked from the inside, so Qiao Zhen cautiously pushed it open and peeked in, calling out, "Yijuan? Yijuan? Little Juanhua?"
"Let me look for it, where is the little silk flower?" Qiao Zhen didn't hear any sign of refusal from the boy, so she boldly walked inside.
Qi Yijuan had his back to Qiao Zhen; he was sulking.
Qiao Zhen sighed helplessly. She tugged at the thin blanket covering Qi Yijuan, feeling its cool, smooth texture. It was silk, confirmed. "Yijuan? Little Silk Flower? Get up and eat something, okay? Little Silk Flower, get up and eat something."
Qi Yijuan sat up abruptly, looking at Qiao Zhen with the eyes of someone looking at a criminal. "Naive!"
Qiao Zhen's hand, which was about to forcefully pull back the blanket, paused. She had absolutely no idea why the boy was angry. QAQ
"Small silk flowers?"
"Don't call me that!"
"Okay, little silk flower."
Qi Yijuan looked deflated as he glanced at the eggs on the bedside table. "They taste awful."
"No, I promise, I didn't mix up the sugar and salt this time." Qiao Zhen held up three fingers to the sky, speaking with absolute certainty.
