Qi Yijuan then introduced the woman, "Her surname is Yao, and her given name is Yao An or something."
"Yi Juan, you've learned to joke around too?" the woman said in a seemingly intimate tone, then looked at Qiao Zhen, "Miss Qiao, hello, my name is Yao Anjing, and I am Yi Juan's fiancée."
Qiao Zhen secretly grabbed Qi Yijuan's thigh and twisted it like she was tightening a screw.
Qi Yijuan's expression remained unchanged. "No, I have not acknowledged you as my fiancée." He looked at Qiao Zhen, his gaze softening slightly. "She is indeed my wife."
Yao Anjing's expression changed slightly. "Yi Juan, don't joke around. I know you've been waiting for your white moonlight for six or seven years, and you didn't even meet Miss Qiao a month ago."
Qi Yijuan simply said, "I thought you had already guessed that she was the one I was waiting for."
"Her? She's your white moonlight? What have I been doing all these years? Daydreaming?" Yao Anjing adopted an aggressive stance.
Qi Yijuan frowned at Yao Anjing, then took Qiao Zhen's hand, as if afraid that Qiao Zhen would be frightened by Yao Anjing's attitude, and he was comforting Qiao Zhen. "You could say that I never gave Miss Yao any hope."
The doorbell rang again. Qiao Zhen went to open the door. It was the assistant who was delivering the household registration book. "Thank you."
The assistant wisely left.
Qiao Zhen put the household registration booklet into her bag, then sat down next to Qi Yijuan. She held Qi Yijuan's hand and said, "It's getting late, we still have to go out."
Qi Yijuan stood up and smoothed out the wrinkles in his clothes. "I'm sorry, my husband and I have an appointment. Miss Yao, if you have anything else to do, you can come another day."
Yao Anjing reluctantly picked up her bag and left.
Qiao Zhen and Qi Yijuan went to the Civil Affairs Bureau. There were a lot of people there today, so Qi Yijuan waited in line while Qiao Zhen drank some cold drinks, ate some chicken cutlet, and played a game of video games.
