The original owner had a complicated and unfortunate relationship with Director Du. It was probably when the original owner was a freshman in college. Director Du forgot to bring his wallet when he went out. The original owner took pity on him and gave him some steamed buns and soy milk. Later, he also helped him out of five yuan. In order to repay the money in the future, Director Du asked for Qiao Zhen's contact information.
As they chatted, they got to know each other better. The original owner learned that Director Du was a joker behind the scenes despite his sharp tongue, and Director Du knew that Qiao Zhen was like an autistic child behind the scenes, despite her goddess-like appearance. The original owner liked Director Du's charm in making people laugh so easily, and Director Du felt sorry for Qiao Zhen's personality, so their relationship in private was like that of two close friends who were only superficially friendly.
It has nothing to do with love.
Qiao Zhen stood there straight.
Director Du frowned, exasperated. "I told you to stay away from that Zhuo Qing, why can't you understand?!"
Qiao Zhen stammered, "I understand, but I feel like I don't have any good sisters besides her." She promised, "I will stay away from her in the future."
Director Du felt a headache and a pang of heartache. He glared at her but didn't dare to be too fierce. "You can always find a good sister in the future. Yuan Xiaofang is quite good. Isn't she better than that Zhuo Qing?"
Qiao Zhen's eyes lit up. "That's right, even with my terrible reputation, Yuan Xiaofang didn't give up on me."
Director Du smiled helplessly, raised his hand and poked Qiao Zhen's slightly swollen cheek, "I hope you really saw it clearly. Alright, hurry up and reduce the swelling, don't affect the filming schedule."
Qiao Zhen raised her hand in salute, "Yes, sir!"
Filming is progressing very smoothly. After all, Qiao Zhen won the Best Supporting Actress award in the previous project, although she didn't go to accept the award.
Alas, what a pity.
Moreover, the original owner's acting skills had been nominated for many Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress awards. Of course, these were just nominations, because Zhuo Qing always won.
Unfortunately, the original owner of this body was genuinely happy for Zhuo Qing, even though he was probably laughing at her behind her back.
Qiao Zhen didn't know whether Zhuo Qing was mocking the original owner behind her back, but she was certain that the rumors mocking the original owner for shamelessly clinging to Zhuo Qing's coattails were definitely spread by online trolls hired by Zhuo Qing in private.
Pshaw, that's off-topic.
That said, aside from not being particularly good at being on camera, Qiao Zhen's acting skills are truly impeccable.
"Yuan Xiaofang, come here!"
The adorable Yuan Xiaofang sidled up to Qiao Zhen and asked, "Sister Qiao, is there anything you need?"
Qiao Zhen handed the phone to Yuan Xiaofang and said in a low voice, "Whenever Zhou Yiwei and I are filming, record the process and don't let anyone find out."
Yuan Xiaofang nodded, "Okay!"
At 3 PM, Zhou Yiwei and Qiao Zhen reshot a scene they hadn't filmed before. Qiao Zhen got into character quickly, but Zhou Yiwei kept making mistakes.
Even Qiao Zhen's good temper was worn down. "Zhou Yiwei! If you can't film, then use a stunt double. Are you trying to hit me or what? If you want to hit me, I'll fight you to the end, but you've cut it out more than twenty times. Do you think I have plenty of time?!"
Zhou Yiwei had been enjoying the action, but after being scolded like that, his face instantly turned ugly. "I'm sorry, Sister Qiao, I... I don't know what's wrong with me, I just can't get into character!"
Qiao Zhen spat out a mouthful of saliva mixed with blood and scoffed, "You hit so hard and you still can't get into character? Is it because my acting isn't good enough to carry you? Or are you hopeless?"
Director Du's face was grim. He slammed the megaphone down on the folding table beside him, calming his anger before ordering someone to bring a first-aid kit to treat Qiao Zhen's wounds. Zhou Yiwei, however, was left standing there unattended. He said sarcastically, "No one has ever dared to cause trouble under my nose, Du Feng's nose."
Zhou Yiwei was somewhat flustered.
Du Feng and Fan Zhao are the same type of director; they are their own backers, so they value acting skills and character, not the investors or connections behind the actors. Zhou Yiwei, however, was blinded by the thrill of being taken advantage of, and things escalated to this point.
Zhou Yiwei immediately apologized sincerely: "I'm sorry, Director Du, I'm not in good condition today. Please give me another chance. If it still doesn't work, then find a stand-in. I don't want to delay the filming schedule."
Du Feng chuckled, "If you weren't feeling well, why didn't you say so earlier? Don't you even know the most basic things an actor needs to do to adjust their condition? You actually hired a stunt double? You might as well just have a stunt double act the whole series."
Although it was only three short sentences, it completely vilified the I Ching.
Zhou Yiwei eventually managed to adjust the situation and, with the help of a borrowed position, passed that rule.
Du Feng deliberately included Qiao Zhen's swollen face in the photo, after all, he favored his own child, how could he easily let Zhou Yiwei off the hook?
Qiao Zhen had a private room at the hotel, and that evening Du Feng went to see her with some swelling-reducing ointment.
Du Feng frowned. "You didn't hit him hard enough today, otherwise how would Zhou Yiwei dare to pull such a dirty trick?"
Qiao Zhen was annoyed. She sat cross-legged on the sofa, hunched over, holding potato chips in her arms, her eyes fixed on the LCD TV. She held an ice pack to her face with one hand and squeezed potato chips with the other, saying without looking up, "Oh, I wonder which director is so angry today that he's almost breathing fire."
Du Feng was both amused and exasperated. He threw the plaster at Qiao Zhen, saying, "Hurry up and put on the medicine! Don't delay the filming schedule, or I'll yell at you until you cry, you know?"
Qiao Zhenxuan was on the verge of tears, her voice mournful and plaintive, "We said we'd share joys and sorrows, but our friendship capsized over a single drama." As she spoke, she picked up a potato chip and popped it into her mouth, crunching it crisply, "Indeed, potato chips are my most loyal companion."
"Hahahaha." Du Feng laughed so hard he rolled around on the bed. "Fuck you, Qiao Zhen, are you trying to make me laugh to death? Hahahaha... We said back then that I'd be happy for you and you'd suffer for me, okay? I still have the recording on my phone!"
