The sunlight was blinding. Qiao Zhen raised her hand to shield her eyes, the scorching heat causing her to sweat. Beads of sweat clung to her forehead. "What the hell..."
The dragging sound stopped abruptly, and He Zhao was hanging outside the cabin, looking extremely disheveled.
Although she didn't understand why He Zhao was causing all this trouble, Qiao Zhen felt that this part wasn't exciting enough, and she should unleash her dramatic talent to make things more sensational.
How about restoring some memories?
The man walked up to Qiao Zhen in his black leather shoes. "Want to play a game?"
Qiao Zhen looked up at the man with a complicated expression. "A game without a prize is meaningless."
"Fate." The man uttered a single word from his thin lips, then paused for a moment. "Is this wager enough?"
"That's enough." Qiao Zhen struggled to get up. Only then did she realize how tall the man was, probably over 1.9 meters. He was quite a bit of a challenge for Qiao Zhen, who was short.
Two men in black suits held Qiao Zhen down in a chair, which was secured by a rope and tilted slightly outwards, thus binding Qiao Zhen to the chair.
The man held a pair of scissors in his long, slender hands with distinct knuckles. His smile was wicked. "One pair of scissors can only cut one rope."
The implication was that either He Zhao or Qiao Zhen would die.
Qiao Zhen retorted sarcastically, "Is that a lock? One key can only open one lock, and a pair of scissors can last a lifetime if you sharpen them. You can't even pretend to be cool, you trash!"
The man looked grim. He whispered a few instructions, telling his subordinates to find two locks and the corresponding keys. The ends of the ropes binding Qiao Zhen and the ropes suspending He Zhao were secured to the ship's hull.
"Sharp-tongued." The man pinched Qiao Zhen's chin. "If you dare to be stubborn again, I'll hit you!"
Oh, this man is an idiot.
The assessment is complete.
This is kidnapping, not some kindergarten game. You have to give someone a heads-up before you hit them.
etc!
It seems like she overlooked something before?
He Zhao had previously hinted to his subordinates in his study to expose his whereabouts to their foreign enemies, so Qiao Zhen always believed that the man in front of her was He Zhao's nemesis. But what if He Zhao's actions in the study were just a smokescreen? Wouldn't this whole charade be a performance orchestrated by He Zhao and his own people?
Qiao Zhen's eyes were filled with confusion. If there were surveillance cameras in the He family villa, then all these things could be explained. But no matter how much she thought about it, she still couldn't understand why He Zhao would deliberately leak his whereabouts.
She suddenly asked in a calm tone, "Do you want to watch a melodramatic soap opera?"
The man was taken aback by the question.
Qiao Zhen coaxed again, "I can tell you want to see him make a fool of himself. I'll show you now, what are you hesitating for? I just have some things I want to clarify. No matter whether I live or die in the end, I want to know the truth."
My thoughts have been discovered.
Awkward.
The man coughed lightly twice. "Five minutes."
Qiao Zhen looked up at He Zhao, who was hanging at sea, and asked, "Are those documents really true? To erase all my contributions to the He family over the past eighteen years, as well as those of my parents, for their own selfish desires, did they really pay the He family a hefty price?!"
She was hot, tired, weak, and agitated. With each word she spoke, she felt her vision darken further.
He Zhao did not answer her.
Qiao Zhen shouted again, "Is it true? I owe you. Thanks to your schemes, we're even now. But what the He family owes me is a different matter. If it's false, it's true that you've been lying to me all this time. He Zhao, I sold the information to someone else back then, causing you so much suffering. That's a debt I'm incurring, and I'll repay it with my life. If you were trying to flatter me to death, then fine, you've succeeded."
"When you took me to the golf course to meet Lamica, Lamica said she thought you would hit the ball into the gold hole. Do you remember your answer back then? You said you were just hitting casually, but you were very accurate. Now I understand, what ball and hole you were talking about, you were clearly talking about me and you."
"You've insisted on not sleeping with me, shouldn't I thank you? Do you have any conscience left?"
Sweat beaded on He Zhao's face, and his clothes were wrinkled, with several smudges on his white shirt. He looked extremely disheveled.
"No...you, I did nothing wrong..."
He spoke incoherently.
Qiao Zhencai ignored what he was saying. "He Zhao, life and death are in the hands of fate. If I am a scourge that lives for a thousand years, I hope you will never recognize me again." She kicked the rope hard, the chair overturned, and she sank into the water.
The man was engrossed in watching the commotion when this sudden event startled him. "What are you looking at? Go down and save her!" He hadn't tied Qiao Zhen's legs, only her arms to prevent her from escaping, never expecting her to jump down so recklessly.
Moreover, she had a rope around her arm; if the rescuers didn't pull her out in time, she would be dead. The man completely lost his composure and quickly stepped forward to put He Zhao down, saying, "He, you've gone too far."
Looking at the shimmering water, He Zhao's expression had completely vanished. "Send more men to search the nearby waters. We need to find them alive." His face instantly turned extremely grim. "We need to find their bodies, if they're dead."
He seemed to have thought of something else. "Left, pull up the recording from earlier."
The man who looked like a mafia boss was Leif. He felt somewhat guilty. "Okay, He."
After sinking into the sea, Qiao Zhen entered her Qiankun bag. She used a Bigu Pill to persist for three months, playing King of Glory in the Qiankun bag for three months, which was really comfortable.
He Zhao seemed to have no intention of stopping the search, so Qiao Zhen, guided by the system, drifted to a village abroad, and with the system's help, she acquired a new name—Mary Sue Luco.
