Qiao's mother followed behind Qiao Zhen, constantly reminding her not to do this or that. She told her that she couldn't be as lazy in someone else's house as she was at home, and that she should keep her distance from the host. She also told her that she could go home if she was tired.
As Qiao Zhen finished packing her things, her mother was still following behind her, nagging incessantly, as if she wanted to bring up all the embarrassing things she had done in the past twenty-odd years as examples to warn her not to repeat them.
"Mom, I'll remember. If you or Dad need anything at home, please call me. I'll come back this weekend if I'm free. We live in the same city." Qiao Zhen hugged her mother and then left with her suitcase.
Mingli's kindergarten is full-day, which means that Qiaozhen can do other things while Mingli is in school; she can try her hand at design.
Qiao Zhen has lived in many planes and witnessed countless festivals, so her inspiration never runs dry. Especially when she has the idea of becoming a designer, her inspiration flows like a spring, and she immediately takes out paper and pen to sketch out the patterns in her mind.
Mingyan was worried that Qiaozhen would be bored when Mingli wasn't around, so he wanted to tell her how she could use the time when Mingli wasn't there. But he found her engrossed in painting. She was dressed in Western classical clothing, but it also had an Eastern Taoist feel to it. The fusion was subtle and not abrupt at all.
Actually, it was just some Taoist symbols drawn on the hem of the classical skirt, but because of Mingyan's ignorance, he didn't notice it, only that it vaguely had a Taoist feel to it.
The fusion was quite subtle.
That's because Qiao Zhen has a cheat code; all her experiences and knowledge are part of her cheat code.
When it was time to wrap things up, Qiao Zhen's neck was a little sore. She raised her hand to support her neck and twisted it, then looked up to move it around, just in time to see Ming Yan behind her.
Then Qiao Zhen's fair neck twisted unintentionally, and she hissed as she grimaced, "Mr. Ming, although this is your territory, shouldn't you at least show some respect?"
Mingyan concealed the smile in his eyes, and the corners of his mouth curved slightly upward. "It was my fault, I'm sorry."
Qiao Zhen tilted her head as she sorted through the papers. "Mr. Ming, while Ming Li is away, I can take on some assistant duties, right?" She raised three fingers to the sky and swore, "I promise I won't neglect taking care of Ming Li."
Mingyan picked up the papers in front of her. "They're well drawn. If you're interested, you can try your luck at Ming's." After he finished speaking, he made a point of explaining, "This isn't a perk for Mingli; it's just that as the president, I see some talented people and want to recruit them."
Qiao Zhen looked up at Ming Yan and said, "Alright, I'll give it a try. But as you know, my schedule needs to be adjusted. Does the Ming family have any special arrangements for this?"
Mingyan nodded, "Of course, the key for designers is inspiration. If you just stay in the company every day, your inspiration will easily run dry. So we only need designers to submit their work on time, and you can arrange the rest of your time as you like."
"Okay." Qiao Zhen agreed and immediately went online to submit her information on Ming's Talent Recruitment Website.
Mingyan felt that Qiao Zhen wasn't as carefree as he had imagined, so he went back.
He couldn't explain why he made this trip; perhaps it was just because he wanted to.
Around 5 p.m., Qiao Zhen was taken to the kindergarten gate to pick up Mingli. Some of the children's parents recognized her, but they just exchanged greetings.
Mingli, with her short legs, came out of the kindergarten and jumped into Qiao Zhen's arms, saying, "Let's go back."
Qiao Zhen looked at Ming Li, who was speaking in a muffled voice, and instinctively felt that something was wrong. "What's wrong?"
Mingli kept snuggling into her arms, so Qiao Zhen held Mingli's shoulders to help him stand up straight. "Don't move. Tell me, did something unpleasant happen at kindergarten?"
"They...they..."
Qiao Zhen heard Ming Li say a few words and her voice broke into tears. She immediately lost her composure and said, "Say it! A real man can bend and stretch. What can't you say?"
Mingli burst into tears, sobbing, "They said bad things about you!"
His indignant tone and tearful expression made Qiao Zhen both laugh and cry. She comforted him, "Thank you for being angry and upset for me, but can you tell me what they said about me? Shall we go and get revenge?"
“Okay.” Mingli clenched her pink little fist. “They said you deserved it. I heard them saying that when I went to get some water.”
Qiao Zhen understood what was going on. She picked up Mingli and took him into the kindergarten. The middle class she used to teach was now being taught by Teacher Tian from next door. She went to the office with ease, saying, "Excuse me, may I bother you?"
Ms. Tian, the teacher in charge of Mingli's class, looked up and asked, "Ms. Qiao, is there anything you forgot to bring?"
Qiao Zhen glanced around the office; none of the teachers had left. "No, it's that you brought extra things. Mingli told me you were gossiping in the office. Of course, if it were just that, it would seem like I was meddling, but if you're talking about me behind my back, then I have to say something. I'm usually a soft-hearted person; if I really don't like something, I'll say it to your face. I can't hear you talking about me behind my back, so it's pointless, isn't it?"
Teacher Tian and the other teachers in the office looked rather grim; they hadn't expected Qiao Zhen to be so blunt. "Teacher Qiao, have you misunderstood something?"
Qiao Zhen curled her lips into a smile. "There's no misunderstanding. If no one is talking behind your back, why would even the child know?" She looked down at Ming Li, then at the teachers. "Children are like blank canvases. When you're drawing on them, please don't add any inappropriate colors."
