Chapter 73 Sorrow Flows Backwards into the Sea (14)

To be honest, Qiao Zhen's brain really isn't working properly. She still hasn't realized that if Chu Zhao was really tied up, how did he answer her phone? Was he using a phantom limb?

Chu Zhao nestled contentedly against Qiao Zhen. All he wanted now was for that person to see that even though everyone was slandering him and distrusting him, there was still someone standing behind him.

The next day, when the counselor brought food to Chu Zhao, they found that the door to the small dark room where Chu Zhao was locked had fallen down, and there was no sign of Chu Zhao inside. So they sent people to look for Chu Zhao again.

Qiao Zhen felt that the world was generally a bit morally bankrupt. The more prestigious the family, the more they cared about their upbringing. But the prestigious family members that Chu Zhao described were like lackeys.

"Quickly! Take him back!"

Since she broke free from the shackles of violence, Qiao Zhen never hesitated to use her hands instead of words. She directly knocked down the men who wanted to resort to force. She secretly handed the recording pen from her pocket to Chu Zhao, saying, "No way! Don't talk about taking them back. It's illegal to restrict a citizen's freedom. You're all from T University. Breaking the law knowingly is an even more serious crime."

The counselor looked at the imposing Qiao Zhen and said, "Since Miss knows this is a matter for T University, there's no need for outsiders to interfere in our school's affairs."

Qiao Zhen pulled out a leave slip from the disciplinary office from her suitcase. "See this?"

The counselor smiled slightly, "Since you are a student of this school, you should follow the way the teachers or instructors handle things."

Qiao Zhen shielded Chu Zhao behind her, raising her index finger and shaking it lightly. "No, no, no, this is a democratic society now. Why should I comply with such an illegal method as privately detaining a student?" She pointed at the burly man on the ground. "Wow! You're all accomplices! If this gets out, T University's century-old reputation will be ruined. Don't even think about killing me to cover it up. Before I came, I told my friends and called home. If I don't go back after military training, you'll see!"

The counselor also knew that Chu Zhao and Wen Zhen were old friends. If the two families used all their connections, even if T University could clear its name, it would be ruined. He dared not take that risk.

But Qiao Zhen wouldn't let it go. "We came here perfectly fine, and military training turned us into mentally ill patients. Instead of notifying our parents in time, you detained us without our consent. See you in court! Oh, and An Erle, didn't you say she slept with my Chu Zhao? Has she been to the hospital for a checkup? Do you have any evidence? We can sue you for defamation, you know?! Is this how T University handles things?"

Qiao Zhen pulled Chu Zhao along, "Come on, let's go down the mountain. We're not doing this military training anymore." She turned to look at the instructor, "Pah! Trash!"

A ruthless glint flashed in the counselor's eyes. He beckoned to the burly man who had gotten up, "You can leave, but Chu Zhao must stay."

Qiao Zhen threw her suitcase on the ground, hung the chain of her wallet around Chu Zhao's neck, and started fighting without saying a word. Looking at the big man groaning in pain on the ground, she felt that they were too weak to fight.

“I was acting in self-defense, and do you have any authorization to detain Chu Zhao?” Qiao Zhen’s every sentence dragged them into the realm of illegality. “If you don’t have one, you really can’t detain him.”

The counselor confidently stated, "He committed rape against a female student from our school. We will take him to the police station as soon as military training ends."

Seeing that they seemed to have come prepared, Qiao Zhen no longer held back, saying, "Evidence is not enough; mere words are slander."

"Seeing is believing, what evidence do you need?" The counselor stalled for time, hoping that once the instructors arrived, Chu Zhao would have nowhere to escape.

Qiao Zhen said incredulously, "Who are you all? Did you see it? Did you see Chu Zhao stuff his big bird into An Erle's vagina? Did you see it?"

The counselor's face contorted in anger; he hadn't expected Wenzhen to be so rude, her words utterly vulgar! "You! How could a girl like you say such a thing!"

"A century-old prestigious university has done something so outrageous, and yet they still look down on me and swear at me. Don't say anything more, we'll see you in court." Qiao Zhen kicked the counselor to the ground, then grabbed Chu Zhao, picked up her suitcase, and ran away.

Once they were in a secluded spot, she looked at Chu Zhao and asked, "Where's the voice recorder?"

Chu Zhao handed over the recording pen.

Qiao Zhen stared at the turned-off recorder, feeling as if she'd been struck by lightning. There was nothing on it—had she just been spouting nonsense? She forced herself to calm down. "Come on, explain yourself. Why is there nothing on the recorder even though I clearly turned it on?"

"Zhenzhen just swore, that's not good. If the recording gets leaked, it will damage your reputation," Chu Zhao explained innocently.

Qiao Zhen raised her hand to her forehead. Damn it! If this gets out of hand, not only will their reputation suffer, but their parents might even be doxxed. But if they had a recording, at least they'd have the upper hand. Now, they truly have nothing left but to deny it to the death.

What do you do when your assigned team member is always dragging you down? She's unmanageable; her teammates are terrible.

Chu Zhao asked anxiously, "What's wrong? Is it serious?"

Qiao Zhen calmed the breath that was stuck in her throat, and said seriously, "Remember, no matter what people say, just deny it to the death. Now men and women are equal. Whether you slept with her because you were drunk, or she slept with you while you were asleep, no one can say for sure. She just cried a little, and now all the blame is on you. That's too arbitrary. If she dares to cry, you cry too, and cry even harder than her."

"Fighting with this kind of person is just a matter of who's more shameless. Why should we care about our reputation? As long as we can achieve a financial win, who cares about your reputation?"

Chu Zhao smiled as he looked at Qiao Zhen, who was talking non-stop, and suddenly leaned down to hug her waist. "Admit it, you like me."
