But this guy with the nice voice might be crazy. He himself said it was dark and gloomy here, so how could he know she was a beautiful young girl?
Qiao Zhen quickly noticed his flaw. But that was fine too; it might just be the opportunity for her to get out.
"Hey bro, we're cellmates now, nice to meet you." Qiao Zhen flirted with the guy who had just spoken, her voice trembling.
There was a rustling sound of fabric, followed by the crunch of shoes on straw. Only when Qiao Zhen heard a soft laugh beside her did she shrink back like a startled bird. "What do you want? I'm warning you, my young lady is... she's a tough woman from the Northern Desert! If you do anything to me, you—"
As she spoke, she felt she couldn't continue her story, so she simply burst into tears. The sound of her crying was like waves crashing against the shore, somewhat eerie in this iron prison and bronze cage.
One hand covered Qiao Zhen's mouth.
"Little sister, no matter how loud you shout, you can't lift the roof off."
"...Oh." There was no way to respond to that.
Qiao Zhen looked up silently in the direction of the sound. She opened her eyes wide, trying to make out the outline of the person in front of her, but everything in front of her was still blurry.
"Little sister, how about I take you out?"
In the darkness, the man clearly saw the girl's eyes light up. He softened his voice and coaxed, "Qingfeng Palace sounds like a nice name, but the people there are bloodthirsty and cruel. Aren't you afraid that you'll beat your young lady to death before she even leaves this world?"
Qiao Zhen was indeed tempted, so she asked hesitantly and timidly, "Since you can get out, why are you still here? And you want to take me out, are we even able to get out?"
The man had something in his mouth, and he mumbled incoherently, "This place provides food and drink, and the guards are strict. It's perfect for avoiding annoying people."
Someone who can come and go freely in Qingfeng Palace, would they be unable to get rid of someone they dislike? Perhaps they dare not, or cannot. The man before them may be playing hard to get, but he too has weaknesses.
Those with weaknesses are not to be feared. So Qiao Zhen grabbed the man's arm and pleaded, "Big brother, please take me out of here! I have seventy grandparents and a forty-year-old mother, and an eight-year-old sister and a two-year-old brother. I can't die!" She said tearfully, her voice filled with sorrow.
The man found the woman before him quite amusing; her classic pleas for mercy, slightly altered by her age, sounded both genuine and pitiful. A flicker of interest crossed his eyes. "In that case," he said, "I'll just take you out of here."
Qiao Zhen raised one eyebrow; she had a bad feeling, and a very strong one at that.
The man grabbed her by the back of her collar and lifted her up. Then, he fiddled with the cell lock with something, and in no time, the chain locking the cell clattered to the ground. He threw Qiao Zhen on the ground like trash, then grabbed her calves and dragged her out.
Qiao Zhen clutched her little bundle, almost bursting into tears. Whenever the man pulled her leg to turn a corner, the little bundle was like a little angel, shielding her from the pain of colliding with the corner of the wall.
As the man turned the corner again, Qiao Zhen reacted quickly, grabbing onto the wall and refusing to let go. "Let go of me! I don't want to go out!"
The man said indignantly, "Don't you want to leave? Think about the lady waiting for you in the Northern Desert!"
Qiao Zhen was so dizzy and disoriented that she felt like she had a lump in her throat. "No, I think it's better to enjoy the comfort we have right now."
When she had recovered a little, she used the leg that the man hadn't grabbed to kick his hand away, and then, carrying her small bundle, she slowly groped her way back to where she was.
Qiao Zhen strongly suspected that this man was just toying with her by dragging her around in the dark prison cell!
The man grabbed Qiao Zhen by the back of her collar with perfect accuracy. "No, helping others is a traditional virtue of us Jianghu people. Today, I must help you escape!"
Now Qiao Zhen was certain that the man with the pleasant voice had indeed been playing a trick on her. So, she curled her lips into a sinister smile and said coldly, "Are you sure?"
"Sure!"
Very good, that's a very confident answer, and it gave Qiao Zhen a lot of confidence to do what she needed to do next.
"Help! Someone's escaping from prison!" Qiao Zhen shouted, shoving the bundle in her hand into the man's arms as she followed the sound. "Help! He's trying to take me, the escaped convict, out!"
man:"……"
idiot.
In the brightly lit cell, Qiao Zhen looked bitterly at the handsome man in front of her. She squatted on the hard, cold wooden board, curling herself up to keep warm.
Oh, after Qiao Zhen yelled like that, the two of them were caught and then locked up in a low-class cold room.
The two disliked each other, so they each occupied half of the wooden plank. Qiao Zhen cautiously poked the man's arm with her hand, "Hey, do you think you can escape?"
The man leaned against the wall behind him, closed his eyes indifferently, and said, "No."
"..." If only she had endured the hardship and figured it out herself. At this rate, it would be a long time before she could even get in touch with the Azure Lamp.
The plump steward quickly received the news and came over. According to the rules of Qingfeng Palace, Qiao Zhen had come to apply for a menial job, and even if he were a prisoner, the steward would still be Qiao Zhen's direct supervisor.
"Could Miss Ni please tell us in detail how he unlocked the cell and how he led you to escape from the dark and gloomy prison?"
