Qiao Zhen sat opposite the old professor and took out a copy of a medical book from her bag. "Hello, I'm sorry to bother you, but I want to make a deal with you."
The old professor was astonished by the medical knowledge in the images in the email; it was something he might not be able to research in his entire life, no, not even for the next two hundred years. "Hello, what kind of transaction is this?"
“I need you to take on an apprentice, and all of this will be yours.” Qiao Zhen pushed a few pages of paper in front of the old professor.
The old professor shakily reached out and picked up the papers, then carefully examined them. He took off his reading glasses and said, "Hey, our country's top medical institution has also researched these, but we haven't made them public. What you've presented isn't enough for me to agree to your deal."
"How could this be?" Qiao Zhen asked, distressed, as she took out another set of copied pages from her bag. "What about these? Have they been figured out yet?"
The old professor was so excited he was almost bursting with enthusiasm. He coughed lightly to calm himself down. "It's actually quite interesting."
Qiao Zhen put the papers back into her bag with little interest. "They're somewhat interesting, but it seems they're not good enough to qualify for a deal with you, which is a shame. But it's alright, there are always people less knowledgeable than you, Professor, who will be very interested in them. I'm sorry to have wasted your time." She stood up as if to leave.
The old professor quickly stopped Qiao Zhen, "Wait, the fact that it's still somewhat interesting means I'm still a little interested in it, I mean a little, which is the greatest interest I can have. Um... I know you know what I mean."
Qiao Zhen looked at the old professor in front of her with a half-smile.
The old professor straightened his tie and said, "Hello, my name is Bernard Kerty, it's an honor to meet this lady."
Joe sat back down. “Hello, Professor Kirty, I’m Riel Joe. It’s an honor to meet you.”
"Alright, can you now elaborate on your deal?" Professor Bernard Kerty seemed rather impatient.
Qiao Zhen took out one-third of the medical books from her bag and pushed them toward the old professor. "This is my greatest sincerity, nothing more. I need you to take someone as your apprentice and keep him in Z country for two years. In return, I will provide you with the remaining two-thirds."
Beryl Kerti looked at Qiao Zhen with intense eyes, "Two-thirds?"
Yes, this is only one-third.
Beryl Kerty looked at Qiao Zhen seriously, "Then, I wish us a pleasant cooperation."
Professor Kelty is really shameless, but surprisingly adorable.
Qiao Zhen took out Qin Zhao's photo from her bag. "He is at Yamari University, an exchange student from W country. I hope you can take him as your apprentice for two years. During these two years, you must not give him any opportunity to return to W country. I will determine the specific time based on the situation. At the same time, I also hope you can teach me everything you know."
Bernard Kerty picked up the photo on the table and looked at the slightly chubby Qin Zhao in the picture, asking, "Is he your lover? He's so lucky."
“No, he isn’t. I hope you won’t reveal my existence. As for why you took him as your disciple, that’s ultimately none of my business, right?” Qiao Zhen smiled just the right amount.
Bernard Kerty understood, “Yes, it has nothing to do with you, I just value his talent.”
"Then, I'll take my leave." Qiao Zhen nodded in farewell, then got up and left.
After leaving, Qiao Zhen did not return to W country. Instead, she went to the nearest airport to buy a ticket to the city where Yamato University is located. Coincidentally, she met Ling Wei, who was pushing a wheelchair, at the airport.
"Hello, Professor Ling."
Ling Wei looked at Qiao Zhen in front of him, observing her discreetly. Undeniably, this woman surprised him slightly. In just six months, her demeanor had transformed from that of a naive young girl into that of a sophisticated woman.
"Hello."
The announcer's cool, clear voice came through the radio.
"Sorry, I have to board now. Goodbye."
"goodbye."
Ling Wei's gaze remained fixed on her back until she turned the corner, at which point he looked away.
An hour and a half later, Qiao Zhen finally arrived at Yamari University. She went directly to the guard on duty in the guard room and said, "Hello, I'm looking for Qin Zhao. He is an exchange student from W country."
"Okay, just a moment."
Qin Zhao, unaware that it was Qiao Zhen who had come to see him, lingered a little longer because of the new friend he had met on the way. When he saw Qiao Zhen waiting at the door, he felt both annoyed and regretful. "Zhenzhen."
"Qin Zhao, school's out for break, so I came to see you." Qiao Zhen said, reaching out to pinch Qin Zhao's cheek. The width between her thumb and forefinger made her frown. "You've lost weight. Haven't you been eating properly?"
"Yes, I'm worried that Qiao Zhen will be angry. I'll be able to go back in half a month. Are you happy?" Qin Zhao squinted and grinned. His originally kind smile looked silly because of his slightly thin cheeks.
"Pfft—" Qiao Zhen couldn't help but laugh out loud. "I'm so happy. Brother Zhao Zhao, remember to eat well and don't lose weight. Boys are more lovable when they're a little chubby."
It's really a pity that Zhao Zhao won't be able to return to W country for the next two years. But Qiao Zhencai wasn't foolish enough to say it out loud; she'd let him be happy for a few days first.
Qiao Zhen and Qin Zhao went to get something to eat, and then accompanied Qin Zhao for a walk around his campus for a while before going to his apartment to sit for a while.
The exchange students shared an apartment with eight people in total, four upstairs and four downstairs, and Qin Zhao lived upstairs. His room, like his personality, was clean and tidy with a touch of casualness. The room wasn't very small; in fact, there was a little extra space.
