Yi Mu Sang is a top writer of CEO novels in this world. He has adapted no fewer than five of his works into TV series, all of which are heart-wrenching, with perfectly connected and innovative plots and a fast pace.
Ha! Only someone as mentally challenged as Xiao Ling would like to read these brainless novels. How could she possibly read them?
At six o'clock in the afternoon, the sun set behind the western mountains, and the dim yellow light shone into the room. Mingyan came to check on how well Qiaozhen was taking care of Mingli, but found Mingli nestled in Qiaozhen's arms, the two of them looking intently at the book spread out on Qiaozhen's lap.
Qiao Zhen angrily condemned, "This male lead is simply courting death! Take away his male lead halo, he would definitely be single by his own merit!"
Mingli nodded helplessly, echoing Qiao Zhen, "That's right, it's too mean!"
Qiao Zhen nodded and praised Mingli, "Good girl, you can't do such rude things in the future."
When Qiao Zhen turned to the next page, the content involved highlighted material, so she simply skipped over it, saying, "This part isn't good, let's look at the next one."
Mingli, the little girl, retorted to Qiaozhen with a righteous expression, "These are all normal breeding practices, and we don't need to discriminate against them."
Qiao Zhen patted Mingli's little head. "I'm not discriminating against it. It's just that at your age, you should be exposed to things that are different between boys and girls. When you're a little older, teachers will explain the structure of the human body. And when you're a little older still, you can come into contact with the content here, but only to the point of contact, not to try it out."
Mingli gave an "oh" that sounded like she understood, but not quite.
“Yes!” Qiao Zhen replied confidently.
Mingyan couldn't help but chuckle as he listened to their conversation. He interrupted them, saying, "Miss Qiao, Mingli, it's time for dinner."
Qiao Zhen closed the book, placed Ming Li aside, and put the book back on the shelf. The cover of the book revealed the seven large characters "The Young Marshal's Fiery Wife". "Then I should go back."
Mingyan shook his head slightly, "Miss Qiao, can you take care of Mingli until she falls asleep?"
Qiao Zhen frowned imperceptibly, then relaxed, "What time is Mingli's normal sleep schedule?"
"Get ready for bed at eight o'clock, turn off the lights at eight-thirty," Mingyan replied succinctly.
Qiao Zhen thought that she had taken a half-hour drive to get here today, so she probably wouldn't be able to get home until nine o'clock in the evening. "It's a bit late, I'll be going home a bit late."
He suggested, "Miss Qiao, how about moving in? I'll have someone take good care of your parents."
Qiao Zhen paused on her book. She would bet a bag of potato chips that Ming Yan's words had contained a threatening element. Rather than going against the wind, she might as well go with it. "Alright then, Mr. Ming, please take good care of my parents and stop those relatives from making things difficult for them. However, I haven't packed my things yet, so I still need to go back tomorrow."
Mingyan nodded. "After you take Mingli to kindergarten tomorrow, go back and pack your things."
"Okay," Qiao Zhen readily agreed.
The happiest person was Ming Li, who was Qiao Zhen's biggest fan and admirer. "Great! Woman, from today onwards we're going to live together!"
Mingyan turned and left.
Qiao Zhen held Ming Li's hand and followed Ming Yan to the dining hall. As expected of a wealthy person, even the place where they ate had a gilded plaque hanging on it - Dining Hall.
Qiao Zhen didn't feel uncomfortable during the meal, but Ming Li kept chattering. Whenever Ming Li got so excited that he seemed about to spit out his food, Ming Yan would say something like "Don't talk while eating or sleeping" to teach Ming Li to be quiet.
Mingli was obedient; after being lectured by Mingyan, he stopped talking and quietly ate his rice.
After dinner, Qiao Zhen and Ming Li went back to the study to continue reading the novel they had read before. The two of them took turns criticizing the characters in the novel, such as the Mary Sue female lead, the troublesome male lead, and the vicious and ruthless second female lead.
It's practically a standard feature of CEO romance novels.
At 7:30, there was still a late-night snack and fruit to eat. After Qiao Zhen finished eating, she and Ming Li played in the yard for a while. There were swings and a slide.
There were two swings side by side, so Qiao Zhen and Ming Li held hands and swung together.
At eight o'clock, Qiao Zhen forcibly took Ming Li back. Being a child, Ming Li couldn't suppress her playful nature; she clung to Qiao Zhen's neck, her eyes brimming with tears.
Qiao Zhen raised her hand and pinched his cheek. "Good boy, girls like CEOs who have a regular lifestyle more."
Mingli's thick, upturned eyelashes were adorned with glistening tears, which fluttered occasionally. His brows were furrowed in grievance as he asked in a muffled voice, "And what about you?"
Qiao Zhen couldn't help but smile. If her mission target were even half as cute as the little koi in front of her, her mission would go much more smoothly. Ah, no comparison, no harm. "Of course I am too."
Mingli sniffled, took out a handkerchief from her pocket and wiped away her tears. "Okay then, I want to be a CEO with a regular lifestyle, so you'll like me even more!"
"Okay, I like you even more." Qiao Zhen carried Mingli into the bedroom. "Sit down for a moment, I'll run you some water."
She went into the bathroom, filled the bathtub with water, and then dipped her hand in to test the water temperature. Only when the temperature was suitable did she bring Mingli into the bathroom. "Mingli, little CEO, boys shouldn't let girls see them taking a bath."
The bathtub is non-slip and not particularly high. There are also pomegranate-red buttons on the bathtub wall, indicating that Mingyan has taken good care of Mingli's safety.
After Mingli finished her work and went to sleep, Qiao Zhen was led by the maid to the room next to Mingli's, which was the room between Mingli and Mingyan. Because that room was connected to Mingli's room, she could take care of Mingli closer to her.
