Chapter 113 Outwitting the Fake Siblings (Twenty-Two)

Before Xiang Wan could even let out a scream, she was grabbed by the back of her collar and thrown out of the window.

"Good boy, I'll release everyone in the manor."

The voice was deep and pleasant, but just thinking about the scene she saw when she first transmigrated made Xiang Wan speechless. She could only repeat one sentence in her mind, "It's over, it's over!"

Under the dark night sky, Xiang Wan watched as the firelight in the house gradually faded away, and the voices grew quieter. After a few leaps, Xiang Wan was placed in an empty room surrounded by a row of candles.

Dressed in red, with black hair and blue eyes, she resembled a demon in the candlelight, waiting for her chance to strike.

After the initial fear subsided, Xiang Wan gradually calmed down. She tried to forget the scene of the man in red turning the woman to ashes, stood up, and looked at the person in front of her with feigned curiosity, asking, "Eh? Who are you? You're very handsome. Are you here to propose marriage to my father? Young master, there's no need to kidnap me at night. With your looks, you can tell my father tomorrow during the day, and he won't disagree."

The man in red didn't speak, his blue eyes fixed on her, making her feel a chill run down her spine.

“Well, if you really can’t wait until tomorrow, tonight is not out of the question. But could you please tell me your name and your family situation first? If you later deny it, I’ll really have to suffer in silence.”

"Ha!" The man in red had a hint of mockery in his eyes. "Fine, women all like this body, so I won't waste my energy. Now that things have come to this, I might as well tell you: if you can hold out until tomorrow, I'll marry you."

Xiang Wan suppressed her inner complaints and pretended to be overjoyed, saying, "Is what you say true, young master? If I could have someone as handsome as you as my husband, I would have no regrets in this life."

After saying that, Xiang Wan looked around and said with a shy smile, "Could it be that Young Master wants to stay here...?"

"So eager?" The man in red curled his lips slightly, turned around and walked out. "Come with me."

Xiang Wan patted her chest to make sure the amulet was still there, then rummaged through her pockets to make sure she had everything she needed. She took a deep breath and followed the man in red to a private room.

The man stood by the bed without moving, staring intently at Xiang Wan, as if waiting for her to undress.

Well, this is awkward. Xiang Wan's original intention was to stall for time, but she didn't expect this man to be in such a hurry. At this point, she had no other choice but to bite the bullet and walk over.

"Young master, aren't you going to take off your clothes?" Xiang Wan lowered her head shyly, not daring to look the man in the eye, for fear that he would notice something was wrong with her.

The man in red did not answer. Xiang Wan gritted her teeth and said to him, "How about I help you undress, young master?"

Without waiting for the man's reply, she reached out and unfastened his outer robe, revealing a snow-white lining underneath. The man was quite well-built.

After undressing him, Xiang Wan turned around and silently unbuttoned her own outer garment. To prevent the man from suddenly becoming a beast, Xiang Wan acted swiftly, throwing off her outer robe and climbing to the inside of the bed. She covered herself completely with the blanket, quickly pulled off her amulet, and put it in her mouth. She hid her dagger under her body, and placed the medicine powder and other items under the bedding.

After waiting for a long time without the man coming up, Xiang Wan slowly pulled the blanket down, revealing her eyes. She saw that the man had a smile in his eyes, but it didn't reach his eyes. He stood by the bed without moving.

Xiang Wan was puzzled. Why was this man so impatient before, but now he didn't care at all? Fearing that taking too long would arouse his suspicion, Xiang Wan reached out and pulled the man onto the bed.

"Heh, you're not shy at all." The man said, lying on his side on the bed, looking down and smelling Xiang Wan's body fragrance.

Xiang Wan got goosebumps from the smell. Caught off guard, she grabbed the man's neck and pressed her lips to his. Startled, the man opened his mouth, and Xiang Wan pressed her tongue against it.

The man in red froze, somewhat dazed. Just then, Xiang Wan pulled out a dagger from beneath her and swiftly plunged it into his heart.

The man stared at the dagger in his chest as if in disbelief, then slowly raised his head, his eyes fixed on Xiang Wan like those of a hungry wolf.

"Go to hell!" Before he could react, Xiang Wan threw all the medicinal powder from the mattress onto the man, instantly turning him into a dough figurine.

Xiang Wan rolled out of bed, grabbed her clothes, and ran outside: "Enjoy yourself! Trying to take advantage of me? I'll make you pay!"

These powders were specially developed by Xiang Wan and Xuan Yuanlan to combat Gu worms. Although not fatal, they could drive the Gu worms mad, causing them to turn on their host. Even though this man possessed immense magical power, he ultimately relied on Gu worms for cultivation. If the source was compromised, there would be no cure. To put it simply, it's like a person relying on their physical body to move; if the body malfunctions and becomes uncontrollable, then everything else is meaningless.

Xiang Wan may not have many other skills, but she does have the strength to seize the key point and strike a fatal blow. She didn't dare to go far, secretly hiding not far from the courtyard, wanting to see with her own eyes how the source of evil would be eliminated.

"Amitabha!" After the Taoist name was called out, a Taoist priest dressed in a black robe appeared in front of the door, as if he had appeared out of thin air.

"The beginning and end of all things are preordained; defying the heavens is futile. The talisman originally given to this little girl has now become the source of your death. You and this old Taoist have now formed a karmic bond. Very well, this humble Taoist will send you on your way. I hope that in your next life, you will cultivate yourself and your virtue, so that you may find peace in the end!"

The Taoist pointed, and a sharp cry rang out from inside the house, followed by silence. Xiang Wan didn't know if the Taoist knew she was nearby, and seeing his profound Taoist skills, she dared not move rashly. Holding her breath, she silently crouched in the corner.

After the Taoist priest finished his ritual, he turned to leave, glanced at Xiang Wan, shook his head, and vanished with a wave of his hand. Xiang Wan was startled and waited for a quarter of an hour before slowly emerging from the corner.

She quietly approached the door of the room, peeked inside, and met the gaze of a man in red who was looking at her. Startled, she froze on the spot.

"I will find you." After saying this, the man in red slowly melted into ashes, starting from his forehead, and drifted into the air.

After a long while, Xiang Wan finally came to her senses and ran out in a panic. The man's words were inexplicable, yet they made Xiang Wan's heart tighten. She remembered that Nangong Yu had said the same thing before his death in her previous life. Could they be connected? No, impossible, it was just a coincidence. Xiang Wan shook her head vigorously, throwing this unreliable thought to the back of her mind.
