Xiang Wan pretended to be hesitant: "Sister Zhou, it's getting late, how about next time?"
"Sister Zhou, Brother Li, this is our first time out, we don't have much experience. It wouldn't be good if we offended Boss Wang. How about this, we'll accompany you next time?"
The three roommates chimed in.
Xiang Wan found her three roommates' flattered expressions somewhat amusing. From the moment they entered the room until they whispered in her ear, Xiang Wan already understood their thoughts: Escape!
After Li Ying and Zhou Ziqi left, their two roommates secretly followed them. Seeing them go to the front desk to order drinks, they assumed it was nothing serious and went to the restroom. However, while in the stall, they overheard the conversation between the two women, and their expressions changed drastically; they didn't dare utter a sound.
"Ziqi, this Wang Yuan is no good. Stay away from him." Li Ying said these words of concern, but her tone didn't seem particularly anxious.
"Are you concerned about me?" Zhou Ziqi asked with a smile.
"Is it meaningful to say such things? I've seen through women. When they have money and fame, they're willing to pay anyone, but once they fall on hard times, they won't pay attention to anyone. They're so damn vain."
Li Ying's tone was somewhat fierce, which made her two roommates roll their eyes.
"I am a woman too!"
"You are different. In this world, there will never be another person by my side besides you."
"Hehe, good to know. If we can satisfy that old man this time, we might be able to turn things around."
"Then let's do it the old way and let that old man clean up the mess. Hmph, a few girls, do you think they can escape our grasp?"
"It's so cute to see how much you hate other women."
"Stop fooling around, let's get down to business."
"I think that Yuan Xiangwan isn't so easy to fool."
"So what if she's not easy to fool? We'll keep some things on our hands, so she won't have to give in. Once we're successful, who will trust a few college students? The entertainment industry is all the same; whoever has the biggest name gets to listen."
"You've captured my heart perfectly; we're destined to be together!"
"Make sure you perform well later, and try to trick that old man into falling into the trap himself. We've spent so much money, we can't let it go to waste."
"Don't worry. You can go out now, I'll come find you in a bit."
"Um."
Li Ying went to the men's restroom, and Zhou Ziqi put the tray aside and went into the nearest stall.
Once they heard no more noise outside, the two roommates tiptoed out of the bathroom, met up with another roommate, and quickly returned to Xiang Wan's place.
Zhou Ziqi had spiked the drink, which is why she was so nervous when Wang Yuan initially asked her to drink. Now that she's drunk a glass herself, she doesn't know how high the dosage is or when it will take effect.
She wouldn't let Xiang Wan and the others leave, probably because she wanted them to drink too, so that they could carry out their next plan.
"Aren't you going to regret leaving like this? We spent a lot of money to buy this from the hotel. What's the point of just us drinking it? Why don't you all try it too? Otherwise, if word gets out that I, a manager, am just having my assistant stand by and watch at a dinner party, I'll lose face, won't I?"
Zhou Ziqi had already put it so bluntly; refusing to drink would be disrespectful to her. Xiang Wan glanced at her three roommates, noticing their panicked expressions, and realized they were already doing a good job by not running away. After all, she was the one who brought them here; how could she not protect them?
"Hehe, Sister Zhou, what are you saying? We're your assistants, so we follow your orders. We'll do whatever you tell us to do. But today, Boss Wang is the boss, so we all have to listen to him, don't you think?"
Without waiting for Li Ying and Zhou Ziqi to respond, Xiang Wan turned to Wang Yuan and said, "Mr. Wang, you know, how could we, a few greenhorns, possibly sit on equal footing with the esteemed Manager Zhou? People would think we newcomers were trying to steal the job of a veteran. Today's dinner has certainly broadened our horizons, and most importantly, we've met the renowned Mr. Wang Yuan—it's truly an honor. We young girls are inexperienced and afraid of ruining this gathering. Now that we've had our fill of food and drink, and learned a lot, Mr. Wang must have other plans. We won't be the ones causing trouble."
Brother Li, Sister Zhou, Boss Wang, let's have a drink together, we really have to go back now.
Having said that, Zhou Ziqi couldn't press the matter any further. Li Ying's expression was unreadable as she watched Xiang Wan pour seven glasses of wine, one for each person.
"Little sister, you're quite the talker. If you're ever looking for a job, you can come work for me."
Xiang Wan's words aligned with Wang Yuan's thoughts, and he smiled and extended an olive branch to her.
"Boss Wang, you're openly poaching our employees! Sister Zhou and Brother Li are still here."
"Oh, hahaha, I forgot for a moment, I'll punish myself with a drink."
Wang Yuanxian finished his drink first, and Zhou Ziqi and Li Ying had no choice but to reluctantly drink theirs as well. Xiang Wan quietly gestured to her three roommates to drink as much as they wanted, assuring them she was there. The group then steeled themselves and downed their drinks.
"We've had our drinks, Sister Zhou, Brother Li, Boss Wang, we'll be leaving now, no need to see us off!"
Xiang Wan quickly grabbed the person and left, afraid that Li Ying would chase after them and stop them again. In fact, Xiang Wan was still wary of this tactic. After walking a short distance outside, she turned into another corridor. After waiting for a while, she indeed heard someone running hurriedly outside.
Xiang Wan and the other three stood in the corner without moving. After a while, they heard the man return, cursing under his breath.
"You little brat, you ran pretty fast. Humph, you got lucky this time!"
