There is a large plaza at the top of the mountain, surrounded by railings, and a three-story observation deck.
After resting for a while in the square, Xiang Wan walked towards the observation deck. There weren't many people there; when she reached the top floor, only she and He Yang remained.
Facing the unobstructed view, Xiang Wan relaxed, took a deep breath, and slowly exhaled. He Yang stood silently beside her, watching Xiang Wan breathe in the sunlight, lost in thought.
"He Yang, we've known each other for three years, haven't we?"
Xiang Wan turned to look at He Yang, recalling the thoughts they had shared since their first meeting. Three years—not a long time, but not a short one either.
"Um."
He Yang nodded, and Xiang Wan smiled. "What kind of person do you think I am?"
He Yang looked at Xiang Wan carefully and saw that she was staring at him intently. He looked away slightly, thought for a moment, and replied, "She is thrifty and family-oriented. She is a good girl and will be a good wife and mother."
Is that all?
He Yang turned his head to look at Xiang Wan, his question clearly visible in his eyes. He meant, is there anything else?
Xiang Wan shook her head, picked up where he left off, and continued, "And there's another crucial quality, which is that you love me very much, right?"
He Yang remained silent, tacitly agreeing. Xiang Wan felt a pang of sadness, and tears almost welled up in her eyes. She quickly looked up at the sky, pretending to check the weather.
So that's all there was to it! All these years they'd been together, He Yang had never truly understood her! What she thought was love was, in his eyes, far too understated, leaving her feeling helpless and heartbroken!
