The wait felt incredibly long. Xiang Wan sat quietly in the basement, listening to her own breathing. Her body gradually relaxed, and drowsiness crept in, but she still dared not fall asleep. In the pitch-black space, if it weren't for Xiang Xia's warm body temperature comforting her and constantly reminding her that someone needed her, she would probably have already felt terrified by the gloomy environment.
Time passed slowly, and Xiang Wan lost track of time, only hearing faint footsteps approaching. She quickly put Xiang Xia's hand back down and lay down where she had been placed.
"Haha, this batch is pretty good, their looks are much better than the last batch. There are also two beauties, they can fetch a good price."
A gruff male voice rang out, and Xiang Wan vaguely recognized it as the voice of Manager Wang from the restaurant. Her heart sank. Recalling the entire ordeal of her and her sister's capture, a chill ran down her spine. They were in cahoots, and they were quite adept at it. Qin Rong's schemes against them were incredibly cunning and manipulative. She had been too naive, waiting until the other side made their move before retaliating. Now it seemed that if they escaped this ordeal, they would not let Qin Rong and her maid, who had framed them, get away with it. She was just unsure what role Master Qin played; if he was like Qin Rong, he too could not be let off.
Xiang Wan's mind raced. While being carried away, she cursed the system again, but this time the system could no longer silence her, so she had to force herself not to make a sound.
Several strong men arrived and carried Xiang Wan out, but it seemed they were no longer taking the same path that had brought them down the night before.

Manager Wang interrupted the burly man's conversation and urged them to pull the carriage out.

The carriage gradually moved towards the city gate. Xiang Wan slowly moved her body to the edge of the carriage and calculated the route it would take.

Seeing the partition loosen, Xiang Wan slowly moved, slipping between the rear partition and the carriage floor onto the ground.
Having been lying down for a while, her limbs were a bit numb. She observed the movements of the burly men from behind the carriage wheels. After resting for a bit, she saw one of the burly men approaching, so she immediately stood up and ran in the opposite direction from the city gate.
"Who goes there?" a guard shouted sternly upon seeing him.
"Sir, sir, it's nothing. It's just a maid who's been stealing. I'll have someone bring her back right away."
As Xiang Wan ran, she listened to Manager Wang explaining to the guards, when she heard several hurried footsteps behind her. She knew someone was chasing her, and without daring to turn around, she ran desperately into the city.
