"This is your plan?"
Rui, dressed in a Tang suit, stared intently at Xiang Wan, her pupils changing as her anger surged.
Xiang Wan was helpless. She had just dealt with the two-faced Zeng Yi, and now she had to appease this snake. It seemed that all their previous agreements had been for nothing.
"Rui, didn't we already agree? I have something to do, you just need to cooperate with me and don't worry about anything else."
"He's part of your plan? Ye, you dressed like this just to seduce the man who's going to be your brother-in-law? Are you that desperate for a man's love?"
Rui's sudden, nonsensical remarks angered Xiang Wan, who retorted, "Which eye of yours saw me seducing him? I already said I had things to do, can you please stop being unreasonable?"
"Kiss me!" Rui suddenly calmed down, but his aura became increasingly dangerous. "Kiss me, and I'll trust you!"
Rui, standing before me, had a particularly serious expression, with an indescribable persistence lingering in his eyes.
Xiang Wan had a headache. Dealing with those people was already annoying enough, and now she also had to appease this snake. She was just making trouble for herself. If she had known this would happen, she shouldn't have been so soft-hearted as to bring him along.
“Rui, I came here only to get revenge on those who bullied me. I have no other intentions and I will not fall in love with anyone here. Can you rest assured?”
Xiang Wan's tone softened. Rui didn't speak for a long time before letting out a soft sigh and gently pulling Xiang Wan into his arms.
"You should have told me sooner. With me here, you wouldn't have to work so hard."
At this moment, Rui has broad shoulders and a reassuring aura, as if a familiar person is comforting her!
Xiang Wan smiled softly, looked up into Rui's eyes, and said, word by word, "Rui, there are some things I have to do myself. You just need to watch quietly. Trust me, okay?"
Rui's eyes flickered slightly, and he compromised, "Then promise me that if you can't handle it, I'll do it. We're the closest of people, and we should trust each other."
Speaking of "intimacy," Xiang Wan thought of everything that happened in the cave, and her face darkened. She couldn't imagine what the consequences would be if Rui got involved and eventually turned into his original form, biting everyone to death. But considering Rui's dedication to protecting her, Xiang Wan didn't want to expose him and nodded in agreement.
After calming Rui down, Xiang Wan wanted to return to the dressing room to wake Ye Zhi Qiu, but Rui insisted on following her. Fine, she thought, with Rui watching over things, nothing unpleasant would happen.
Pushing open the door, Ye's mother was observing Ye Zhi Qiu's reaction, gently calling her name.
When Ye's father saw Rui following behind Xiang Wan, a hint of displeasure flashed in his eyes, but he quickly concealed it.
From the moment Xiang Wan entered, Zeng Yi's eyes were filled with aggression and possessiveness. But when he saw Rui behind her, his aura turned into provocation and coldness.
Rui glared back defiantly, quickly stepped forward, put his arm around Xiang Wan, nodded to Ye's father with a smile, then politely nodded to Ye's mother, escorted Xiang Wan to Ye Zhi Qiu, and used his body to shield Zeng Yi from view.
Ye Zhi Qiu showed no signs of waking up, and Ye's mother held Xiang Wan's hand anxiously.
"Mommy, don't worry, my sister just opened her eyes and then went back to sleep. Let me wake her up so I can touch up her makeup."
Once Ye's mother calmed down, Xiang Wan took advantage of the moment to gently pat Ye Zhi Qiu and quickly activated her sleep acupoint.
Ye Zhi Qiu slowly woke up, and Xiang Wan immediately got up and came to Rui's side, standing with him.
"Xiang Wan, my darling daughter, I'm so sorry. I didn't realize you were under so much pressure. If there's anything wrong, you can talk to me and your dad. Why keep everything bottled up inside? If your sister hadn't told you, I wouldn't have known you were so exhausted. I've made you suffer, my child."
As Xiang's mother continued talking to herself, she didn't notice Ye Zhi Qiu's expression when he saw Xiang Wan. It was as if he had seen a ghost, filled with fear and dread.
Xiang Wan smiled brightly, then said worriedly, "Sis, you're finally awake! You really scared me. We were just talking when you were lying on the floor. Luckily, you're alright, otherwise, how would I explain it to Daddy and Mommy?"
Xiang Wan spoke earnestly, but Ye Zhi Qiu's eyes were somewhat dazed, as if he thought everything before was a dream.
"Oh, right, your brother-in-law came to see you too." Xiang Wan said, then raised her hand to introduce him, "This is Rui, my new friend. Isn't he handsome? Let me tell you, he's a real rascal. Don't be fooled by his looks, or I'll be furious. Your sister finally found someone worthy of me, so don't say anything bad about him, or I'll get angry."
Xiang Wan pouted, and it seemed like she was about to get angry if Da You Ye Zhi Qiu said anything bad about Rui.
Rui's eyes lit up, and he reached out to hug her again. Xiang Wan slapped his hand away, glared at him, and thought, "Is she acting? What's she doing?"
Ye Zhi Qiu stared intently at Rui, causing Rui to frown.
Xiang Wan pulled Rui behind her and said unhappily, "Sister, I know Rui is pretty, but you're getting married soon. Aren't you afraid your husband will be angry if you stare at other people like this?"
Ye Zhi Qiu realized what was happening and awkwardly looked away. Then she saw Zeng Yi standing to the side, staring at the floor. She lowered her eyes in disappointment.
"Zhiqiu, what nonsense are you talking about? Your sister isn't that kind of person. Go find the makeup artist and touch up her makeup. The time is almost here, don't let it delay the wedding."
"Okay, we'll go right away."
Xiang Wan quickly agreed, glanced at Rui, and walked straight out the door.
Behind him, Zeng Yi quickly made an excuse to tidy his dress, left the dressing room, and followed Xiang Wan.
