Chapter 441 Past Lives and Present Lives (Part 7)

After her baby's birthday, Xiang Wan behaved herself for a few days. As she was planning how to greet Xiao Ming the next time she saw him, the system whispered mysteriously in her ear.

"Hey, that heartless guy has a blind date in a few days, wanna go check it out?"

What? A heartless man?

After a moment's thought, Xiang Wan realized that the system was referring to Xiao Ming. Even if it was just a misunderstanding, he had still betrayed the original owner's heart; calling him a heartless man wouldn't be wrong at all.

"He's so busy, how does he find time for blind dates?"

"It was all because of the heartless man's parents who forced him to agree. They made a scene, cried, and threatened to hang himself, and that's how he got her to agree."

Thinking about Xiao Ming's parents, it really is possible.

When she was with the original owner of this body, Xiao Ming's parents, though not particularly fond of her, at least didn't embarrass her to her face, and tolerated it for their son's sake. When the original owner actually wanted a divorce from Xiao Ming, they didn't object. Behind her back, the original owner knew they were resentful that she hadn't given birth to a child for the Xiao family. Didn't they realize that having a child is a one-person affair?

She's probably endured enough to refrain from forcefully arranging a marriage for Xiao Ming all these years. How could she possibly miss out on such a spectacle?

It was a Saturday afternoon. Xiang Wan took her child to visit the Ouyang couple early in the morning to spend the weekend with them. She then dressed up carefully and strolled leisurely to a corner of the park.

It's now common for parents to arrange dates for their children, and there are far more elderly people than young people there. People like Xiang Wan stand out in this group.

She stood there with her umbrella, and many people came over to ask her questions.

"Girl, which school did you graduate from? Do you have a job? How old are you this year? What kind of person are you looking for? Let me tell you, my son graduated from X University and has been working for four or five years. He's a supervisor now. Here's his picture. Would you like to meet my son?"

"Do you live in the city or the suburbs? Do you own a house and a car? Have you ever had a boyfriend? Where do you work now? You're so young, why are you here on a blind date? Is there something you're having trouble telling me?"

“My son has a PhD and is currently a manager at a large company, earning an annual salary of four or five hundred thousand yuan. He just has high standards and hopes to find someone who has never had a boyfriend. You look alright. Leave your contact information and take a picture. Maybe my son will like you. After marriage, you won't need to work and can just stay home and take care of the children.”

"You need a master's degree or higher and a monthly salary of at least 10,000 yuan, otherwise how will you pay the mortgage and car loan? After marriage, you'll need to have at least two children and hire a nanny. My son earns a good amount of money every month, but he's too busy. So, if you think it's suitable, I hope you can stay home and do housework, and I don't need you to worry about anything else."

"Parents must have two incomes and also help take care of the children."

"Being too good-looking makes me feel insecure. I should stop wearing makeup and dress simply; it's more practical and saves money."

Listening to the elderly men and women around her listing their requirements for their future daughters-in-law as if they were picking vegetables, Xiang Wan felt like she was going to vomit blood. These people all thought they'd given birth to a princess and wanted a servant to wait on them; no wonder they'd never find a partner.

Xiang Wan picked up a large black pen and scribbled "Divorced, looking for a father for my child" on the umbrella.

As soon as the eye-catching words were displayed, the crowd immediately dispersed, and many people even changed their expressions, looking at Xiang Wan as if they had seen a plague.

It's so annoying. Going on blind dates here is like lowering yourself. Do they think this is a vegetable market, picking out vegetables with such high standards? If their sons were really as good as they say, would they still be single?

Ha, I look down on people like her. At least she was married before. Unlike their children, nobody wants them.

Xiang Wan, seemingly indifferent, sat on a bench under her umbrella, leisurely observing the crowds passing by. Suddenly, she found it rather amusing. Didn't she see those people, desperate to sell their children, spouting out the most outrageous and exaggerated claims? Even sleuths wouldn't do that! Wasn't it quite entertaining?

After sitting for about an hour, Xiao Ming came over from the other side. His parents had been waiting there, and when they saw him arrive, Xiao's mother hurriedly pulled him into the crowd.

“Let me tell you, these days, you have to hurry up if you want to find a partner, otherwise all the good ones will be snatched up by others. Your mother has already set her sights on Aunt Wang over there, and Uncle Qin’s daughter. They’ve both never been married, and they have good jobs and are good-looking. They’ll definitely like you when they see you.”

Xiao Ming looked helpless as his mother pulled him toward the acquaintances, without glancing around.

Having just finished a shift change with a colleague and having to work the night shift, Xiao Ming was figuring out how to find an excuse to leave when a familiar face suddenly appeared under the empty umbrella.

Ouyang Xiangwan? What is this woman doing here instead of staying home with her husband and children?

Upon seeing the large characters on the umbrella, Xiao Ming became somewhat uneasy. What kind of trouble was this woman causing now?

"Come here, son, this is Aunt Wang I told you about. Her daughter is also studying medicine, a gynecologist, two years younger than you. Here's her picture, take a look..."

Xiao's mother was enthusiastically introducing potential partners to her son when she looked up and saw him looking in another direction. She couldn't help but follow his gaze.

Grandma, I've finally been looking forward to getting a divorce, and now I'm running into you here again? Could it be that you came here specifically to ruin your son's blind date?

“What’s wrong with you? You’ve already arrived, and you’ve already set your sights on someone else? Let me tell you, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. My daughter has no trouble finding a husband.”

The Queen Mother, as described by Xiao's mother, had an air of superiority and spoke in a rather impolite tone.

Xiao Ming's expression immediately darkened. His mother knew her son's pride had been hurt, but she couldn't bring herself to argue, so she retorted, "My son is a school heartthrob, with tons of girls chasing after him. Unlike your daughter, who's so old and nobody wants her, and you're the one picking and choosing?"

"Hey, how can you talk like that? I wouldn't even bother looking at people like you. Like father, like son. I refuse to believe that your son came here for a blind date and he's no good in some way, so nobody's interested..."

"Hey, how can you talk like that? My son is perfectly fine, good-looking and handsome, he'd have a ton of girls chasing after him wherever he goes. Are you saying such sarcastic things because your daughter is so ugly, and her only redeeming quality is her job?"

"Your son is ugly, your whole family is ugly!"

"What did you say? Are you deliberately picking a fight? I don't believe it. When it comes to skills, who can beat whom?"

"Come on, come on!"

"Come on then, are you afraid of me?"

"Alright!" Xiao Ming shouted, pulling his mother behind him and turning to say, "Aunt Wang, it's all for the sake of our child. Is it appropriate to talk like this in public? Also, I don't think your daughter and I are a good match. I already have a boyfriend."
