Chapter 453 Past Life and Present Life (19)

"Hey, did the sun rise in the west today?" Gao Qiming, reeking of alcohol, looked Xiang Wan up and down, then leaned closer. "You come to a place like this to hang out? You're not here to meet your lover, are you?"

Xiang Wan silently moved three feet away from him, turning her head as if she hadn't heard.

After that wild night at Tang Xin'er's nightclub, the original owner avoided such places whenever possible, and never went to karaoke bars or nightclubs again unless it was absolutely necessary. At the time, Gao Qiming even teased the original owner, saying she was being hypocritical.

The original owner was also exhausted. She didn't have many friends, and on top of that, she had to pursue further studies and take care of her child. Where would she find the time in America to go to places like this for fun?

Finding a private room could have been a way of supporting Tang Xin'er's family business, but since she wasn't the one organizing the class reunion, she didn't feel comfortable mentioning it. Unexpectedly, she ran into Gao Qiming right after leaving the restaurant and arriving at the karaoke bar.

Knowing he liked to have fun, Xiang Wan didn't think much of it at first, but the surrounding onlookers were all old classmates. Gao Qiming still reeked of alcohol, and judging from his appearance, he wouldn't leave easily once he saw her. She didn't want to give them more gossip, so she pretended not to know him and had her friends take him away first.

"Who are these people? How did you end up with them?"

Gao Qiming leaned against the wall, his drunken eyes scanning the surroundings, his gaze lingering on Gan Xiaochen for a moment.

"Is this your friend? Aren't you going to introduce him?"

As evening approached, veins throbbed on his forehead.

This kind of spoiled brat behavior is really damaging to her image.

"Waiter, there's someone here who's had too much to drink. Help him to the lounge to sober up."

Unable to find anyone with Gao Qiming, Xiang Wan had to ask a waiter for help, but someone was unwilling to let her have her way.

"Judging from his appearance, he's had quite a bit to drink. Is he your friend? Why don't you come sit in our private room? It'll be easier to keep an eye on him in case anything goes wrong while he's drunk."

Tsang Yok-sing had a sincere smile on his face, but in Xiang Wan's eyes, it looked completely hypocritical.

Although Xiang Wan hadn't seen that kind of look in the eyes of someone trying to get to know someone and build a relationship very often, she could still see through it at a glance.

"Aren't you afraid he'll bother us women?"

His gaze swept towards Gan Xiaochen; she was the one Gao Qiming stared at for the longest time. The others didn't show it on their faces, but their disapproval was obvious in their eyes.

"Why don't you go in first, and I'll find someone to take care of him?"

As Xiang Wan said this, everyone headed towards the private room. Zhao Yuanyuan stayed beside her, clearly wanting to lend a hand, but she was also sent away.

She pulled Gao Qiming to a lounge area in the lobby and poured him a glass of water. "Are you planning to leave, or just came out for some fresh air? Where's your friend?"

"What, so eager to get rid of me? Don't forget, I'm the father of your child." Gao Qiming took a sip of water and leaned back. "Is your ex-husband among them?"

Knowing she couldn't hide it from him, Xiang Wan nodded.

She hadn't shown Gao Qiming the photo, so she wasn't sure if he knew Xiao Ming. But as a friend, she didn't want to lie.

Seeing how honest Xiang Wan was, Gao Qiming felt a little uncomfortable.

"You woman, they say a good horse doesn't turn back to eat the grass it already grazed. The kids are all grown up, is it really necessary to rekindle your old flame?"

"I think there's still a chance to save him."

"What if he can't be saved? Will you just give up? There are so many men in the world, why cling to that one?" Gao Qiming advised.

"You don't understand." Xiang Wan shook her head.

"I don't understand, but I do know that even if a broken mirror is mended and repaired perfectly, it will never be the same as the original one."

"Young Master Gao, you actually know about this?" Xiang Wan changed the subject.

"Let me give you a piece of advice: don't look down on people who have studied abroad. I've been through just as much as you have."

Xiang Wan expressed her doubts, guessing that he was busy chatting with female classmates about life during his studies abroad, otherwise he wouldn't have so many romantic entanglements.

Upon seeing Xiang Wan's expression, Gao Qiming knew what she was thinking and couldn't help but reach out and pinch her Jingming acupoint. Drinking too much alcohol was definitely not a good thing; she was even speaking a little sluggishly.

"Where are you going? Shall I get you a taxi?"

After sitting with Gao Qiming for a while, Xiang Wan decided to send him home. It didn't make sense for everyone to be out together while she was left alone.

"No need, I'll go upstairs and get a room to sleep in a bit."

"Do you need me to call a waiter for you?"

"Okay, go ahead."

Xiang Wan was speechless. Did they have to be so rude?

After checking with the front desk and asking a waiter to lead Gao Qiming upstairs, Xiang Wan headed towards the reserved private room.

Several male students had already started singing when Zhao Yuanyuan saw her come in and quickly waved to her.

The table was laden with beer, fruit, and drinks; some people were chatting, others were talking, and still others had already gathered together to catch up.

There were about twenty people in the group, but Xiang Wan could only name a few of them. There were also some she hadn't seen at the dinner table who joined them after entering the private room.

The sound system was so loud that you had to shout to be heard. The fat guy was singing the loudest, belting out a few songs at the top of his lungs before being booed off the stage, with everyone saying they couldn't take it anymore.

"Are we still friends? You won't sing, and you're preventing me from singing either. If you're so capable, let each of us women sing one by one."

The fat man's eyes darted among the women, and the crowd began to jeer. Gan Xiaochen was the first to be pushed onto the stage. After some polite refusals, she chose an English song to sing. Her voice was quite good, but her affected sentimentality was rather irritating. The crowd graciously applauded, encouraging her to sing another song.

Unable to refuse, he sang another song, and then refused to go on stage no matter what.

They're all over thirty now, so they don't care as much about showing off anymore. If they like to sing, they'll just request a song.
