Judging that the two had already entered the room, Xiang Wan slowly walked up, muttering before entering the door, "Huh, I knocked for so long and the door didn't open, but it opened by itself now, how strange."
After observing from the doorway for a while, Xiang Wan was about to enter when she thought for a moment, sent a message, waited a while longer, and then walked in with peace of mind.
Gao Qiming was already asleep on the sofa, and Xiao Ming was slumped over the table. He glanced around, knowing Gan Xiaochen and the others were hiding in the bathroom, but didn't intend to drag them out directly.
If they want to hide, then let them hide a little longer.
She poured herself a glass of water and was slowly drinking it when she heard Zhao Yuanyuan calling her from the doorway.
"Here it is."
"How did you get here? We're all still..."
Zhao Yuanyuan's words came to an abrupt halt after she saw the two sleeping people.
"You've come at the right time. Help me call two male classmates up. They're both drunk and I can't wake them up."
"Why don't we just let them rest here? They can go back once they sober up," Zhao Yuanyuan suggested.
“They’re all friends, I’m not comfortable leaving them here like this. How about I stay here and watch over them, and you tell them we won’t be going to the dinner party tonight?”
"That won't do. If we all leave, there will be no one to help us."
Xiang Wan glanced at the toilet, raised an eyebrow, and said, "There will always be someone willing to do good deeds anonymously."
Zhao Yuanyuan hesitated, unsure whether she should go along with Xiang Wan's wishes and trap her in the bathroom.
They've been here for half a day, and the people inside haven't made a sound; they clearly don't want to be discovered. Is what they're doing really a good thing?
However, Xiang Wan didn't want such a good witness to leave, so she pulled her to sit down.
"Don't rush, it'll probably be a while before the party ends downstairs. Let's chat here and ask the waiter to bring up some fruit."
My fingers deftly dialed the front desk number, and someone delivered the items shortly afterward.
As they ate and drank, the two hit it off and decided to tell Jasper Tsang that they would not continue with the activities.
However, Zeng Yucheng had his own ulterior motives in organizing this class reunion. He wouldn't have cared if Xiang Wan and Zhao Yuanyuan hadn't gone, but with Gan Xiaochen absent, he lost interest in continuing the reunion.
Tsang Yok-sing asked around, but no one knew where Gan Xiaochen had gone, so he made a phone call.
The bell rang once in the bathroom and was then hung up. Xiang Wan chuckled to herself. She figured the person had been waiting for a while and should be coming out by now, so she and Zhao Yuanyuan stood at the door together.
The door lock clicked, and Gan Xiaochen and Zhou Sulan came out.
Zhao Yuanyuan's surprise was palpable, but upon seeing Xiao Ming, she understood everything.
If Xiang Wan didn't seize this opportunity to give him a good scolding, she would really be wasting all the time she had been sitting here idly.
"I never would have guessed that our Gansu University's campus belle would also enjoy playing hide-and-seek. You have no idea how frantic our classmates downstairs have been looking for you. Don't tell me you came here to avoid male classmates who are trying to woo you, that would be too hurtful."
Xiang Wan looked at her with a teasing expression, while Gan Xiaochen tried to remain calm, though her ears were turning red. "No, we were just changing clothes, so..."
"Find a room with a man to change clothes? I believe that reason coming from you, the most beautiful girl in Ganzhou University."
Gan Xiaochen's face flushed red; this was definitely the most humiliating moment of her life. She had finally found a chance to be alone with Xiao Ming, but there was someone in the room. Just as she was about to get him out, Xiang Wan came in. They had no choice but to hide in the bathroom, thinking they could get out quickly, but unexpectedly, Xiang Wan wouldn't leave.
If they didn't come out on their own, Gan Xiaochen was absolutely certain that Xiang Wan would stay in that room until dark.
The things he wanted to do were cut short before they even started. And Xiao Ming was drinking with a man and got drunk. Could it be that this was the reason he divorced Xiang Wan?
The longer Gan Xiaochen stayed in the bathroom, the more her thoughts raced in that direction, uncontrollably.
She had never doubted her own charm, and now that she could find such a powerful excuse for herself, she was gradually beginning to believe it. If Xiang Wan knew her thoughts, she would definitely be more direct, making Xiao Ming and Gao Qiming lie together, clearly telling Gan Xiaochen that she couldn't compete with women, and she couldn't even compete with men. She would definitely witness the most spectacular face-changing act.
"Don't talk nonsense. We just want to help out of kindness," Zhou Sulan said.
We're waiting right here; we can't let them come all this way for nothing.
"Really? That's great! You two help the one on the sofa, and Yuanyuan and I will help Xiao Ming. We'll go downstairs, hail a taxi, and take them home," Xiang Wan blurted out.
“That’s your friend. Why don’t you help him up and insist that we do it? If we’re going to help someone, we should help Xiao Ming.”
Xiang Wan frowned. "It's not that I don't want to, it's that I'm afraid you'll make a mistake."
"What's wrong with helping someone up? I think you just don't want Xiaochen and Xiaoming to be together."
"Oh, it's not that I don't trust you, it's just that your actions are very suspicious. I'm afraid that if you help Xiao Ming, you might end up taking him to his room. I won't be able to explain that to him later, since he asked me to take him home."
Gan Xiaochen and Xiang Wan turned pale. They had originally planned to do the same, but after Xiang Wan's words, they couldn't say anything more.
They were already in the wrong, having entered the house first and then being cornered in the bathroom. If they continued arguing, Ouyang Xiangwan would likely escalate the situation further. They also had their pride; they needed to conduct themselves discreetly, not allow others to find fault with them in public.
