"It's so late, do you want me to take you back to the club?"
Cui Shiwan is asking a potentially fatal question, and she's just waiting for Xiang Wan to answer it.
Could she suggest going back? It's so late, there's nowhere to get a taxi, and besides, Lou Junxuan is watching from the side.
"If Miss Wan doesn't mind, I can stay with you a little longer."
I checked my watch; it's not even 2 a.m. yet, there's still some time.
“I’m very tired, let’s continue tomorrow. Although this room was reserved for us by the Lou family, I brought you here without their permission, so I should at least inform them. If Mr. Lou doesn’t mind…”
"I mind very much!"
Lou Junxuan, who finally had a chance to speak, forcefully stood between Cui Shiwan and Lou Xiangwan and said coldly, "Since he is not related to me and was only hired by you temporarily, Miss Cui, I think he is not qualified to stay in such a nice hotel."
Cui Shiwan shrugged, helplessly saying, "Kevin, that's all for today's service. Forgive me for not being able to see you off. Goodbye!"
After saying that, she left the two of them at the door and swiped her card to enter the room herself.
This woman's "use and discard" mentality is even more pronounced than the original owner's memories.
However, it's rather unusual that the person she longed for so much was simply pushed onto Xiang Wan.
Xiang Wan ignored Lou Junxuan, swiped her card to enter, and tidied up her things.
Lou Junxuan followed him inside and locked the door from the inside.
"Are you really leaving?"
"I can't afford to stay in a hotel like this, as a working person. Knowing when to be discreet is the first thing we learn in our professional training."
Xiang Wan pulled her luggage onto the handle and walked towards the door.
Before my hand even touched the doorknob, I was hugged from behind.
Male hormones slowly enveloped her entire body.
"Don't go."
His chin nuzzled against her shoulder, making Xiang Wan feel very uncomfortable.
She used a grappling technique, crouched down and broke free from his embrace, coldly saying, "Lou Junxuan, are you crazy? I'm your brother!"
Lou Junxuan lunged forward, but Xiang Wan dodged him. He then stood directly at the doorway, blocking the way out.
"Younger brother? Now you admit you're my younger brother? I remember you didn't say that back in the underground bar."
“You’re right,” Xiang Wan said, no longer hiding her feelings, raising her chin. “I really don’t want to be your younger brother.”
Lou Junxuan's eyes suddenly lit up, as if they had been fitted with searchlights. However, Xiang Wan's next sentence shattered his illusions completely.
"I don't want anything to do with you either."
Seeing the light in his eyes gradually fade away, Xiang Wan felt a pang of pity, but she had no choice but to say coldly, "Bothering me only disgusts me."
"You hate me that much that you can't even live under the same roof as me?"
Lou Junxuan trembled slightly, his eyes fixed on the floor, not daring to look at Xiang Wan even once more. He was afraid that all he would see in her eyes was disgust and indifference.
Since realizing his own feelings, Lou Junxuan even thought that no matter the cost, he would never let the other person leave his side. He even thought that as long as he took it slow, he would eventually win her over.
But when he actually faced Xiang Wan, the situation was completely different from what he had imagined; he didn't even have the courage to say he liked her.
This is his younger brother, whom he has cherished and protected, and now he is clearly keeping him at arm's length.
In the past, he could deceive himself and pretend to be a brother.
Now, he could no longer deceive his own heart, nor could he deceive Xiang Wan. He was already deeply mired in this situation, while she was still thinking about how to escape. How could he bear it?
To avoid hearing anything more embarrassing, he turned around and said in a low voice, "As long as you're still my brother, never try to sever ties with me, never!"
After saying that, he opened the door, left a message saying, "Sleep here, I won't bother you anymore," and then closed the door and went to the next room.
Xiang Wan leaned against the wall and slumped to the ground.
Dealing with Owen and Cui Shiwan, the two enemies of the original owner in her previous life, was easy for Xiang Wan, but she had never felt so tired when facing Lou Junxuan.
People say that emotions are the lightest and heaviest thing in the world; they can make you so happy you feel like you're floating, or so heavy you can't breathe.
Xiang Wan never wanted to carry the burden of emotions in the mission world, but she had no choice but to stand tall and face it directly.
She knew very well that this feeling stemmed from the fact that Lou Junxuan possessed a fragment of her beloved's soul. But as she completed mission after mission, she gradually realized that some things weren't as clear as she had imagined; subtle changes had occurred, but she simply refused to acknowledge them.
He shook his head vigorously, putting those things aside.
If you can't figure something out, don't dwell on it. Thinking about it too much is pointless; you'll understand eventually.
After washing up, Xiang Wan fell asleep immediately.
Next door, Lou Junxuan hadn't slept a wink all night.
He thought about his past with Xiang Wan, about all the little things they had done together, and he couldn't understand when it started, when Xiang Wan became aware of feelings that he himself hadn't even realized.
One night, in a half-dream, half-awake state, he even dreamed of swimming with Xiang Wan. But later, as he swam, he ended up in bed.
Then, Lou Junxuan realized he had a wet dream.
After a brief moment of panic, Lou Junxuan calmed down, quietly went to the bathroom to wash his underwear, then picked up the phone and called He Yi to the hotel early in the morning, asking him to bring a change of clothes.
When He Yi, a full-time nanny and personal assistant, arrived at the Chenguang Hotel with a long face, the staff had just changed shifts. When she encountered Xiang Wan, who was still sleepy-eyed, she was so startled that she almost dropped what she was holding.
