The commotion inside the men's restroom was quite loud; the stall doors were being opened one by one, and soon they reached the doorway.
Xiang Wan held her breath, and when the person inside came out in a fit of rage, she suddenly grabbed the doorknob and started making noises.
"No...don't do this! Um...someone...ah...will hear us..."
The person who had been staring intently at Xiang Wan's eyes suddenly deepened.
The footsteps stopped a short distance outside the door, but Xiang Wan continued making noise.
He braced himself against the door with both hands and pushed hard, making it look like he was in great pain. His breathing was heavy, and even without seeing what was inside, one could imagine what was happening inside.
The person outside slowed their breathing and approached the women's restroom door, standing there listening intently.
Xiang Wan slammed the heels of her shoes against the ground, mimicking the sound of a Gauguin shoe breaking off under her weight. Her panting and incoherent refusals grew louder until only the violent impacts and heavy breathing remained.
She remained calm, gauging the sounds outside while reaching into her clothes to retrieve her prepared medicine powder in case someone outside suddenly tried to break down the door.
The slow breathing at the doorway was constant. Xiang Wan turned her head, but before she could react, her lips were sealed.
Before gagging, Lou Junxuan quickly whispered "I'll help you" in Xiang Wan's ear, and then, without further ado, turned the words from Xiang Wan's mouth into reality.
The people outside listened for a while, then left.
Her movements didn't stop. Xiang Wan couldn't help but lift her foot and step on Lou Junxuan's foot, then pushed him aside and growled, "If you've had enough of being crazy, then get out of here."
Xiang Wan wiped her mouth with the back of her hand and walked sideways into the women's restroom.
Lou Junxuan knew this was not the time to speak.
He squinted as he watched her swiftly dismantle the vent on top, climb inside, and then gently turn around and put it back in place.
Upon seeing her do this for the first time, Lou Junxuan extended his index finger, lightly touched the corner of his mouth, and after a moment, turned the doorknob and walked out as if nothing had happened.
The restroom quieted down, and after a while, three people came in and checked each woman's room. They left reluctantly when footsteps were heard in the hallway.
"Boss, I couldn't find it."
"Useless, can't even keep an eye on one person."
The cursing and swearing completely disappeared in the hallway. Xiang Wan came down from the ventilation vent and went to the men's restroom to continue cleaning her clothes.
"Excuse me, are you Mr. Kevin?"
A man in work clothes walked over and asked respectfully.
"It's me. What's up?"
"Oh, a lady asked me to come and take a look; she's getting a little impatient."
"Okay, I'll be right down."
After everyone left, Xiang Wan threw the crumpled paper into the trash can, straightened her clothes, and went downstairs.
Looking around, he saw Cui Shiwan clinking glasses with Lou Junxuan.
Xiang Wan took a glass of wine from the tray of a passing waiter and walked over.
"You've come at the right time, Kevin. I'm not feeling well. Could you take me home?"
Cui Shiwan had a beaming smile on her face, showing no sign of discomfort whatsoever.
Lou Junxuan replied, "How about I take you home? I don't have anything else to do right now."
"Since the main characters have all left, there's no point in me staying. How about we go together?"
Finally, the three of them went together, but instead of returning to the hotel, they went to a square.
The musical fountain in the square is spectacular, with beautiful lights, making it a great place to relax in the evening. Anyone visiting H City will come specifically to see it, and even late at night, there are still quite a few people strolling around.
"With you all by my side, I feel at ease coming here."
Cui Shiwan's outfit remained unchanged, making her quite eye-catching.
Not everyone who comes here is just strolling around like them; there are also singers and people from all walks of life.
Therefore, Cui Shiwan's words were not unexpected.
Someone was playing guitar by the fountain, singing softly and tenderly, while a group of people sat around him.
The three of them stood in front of these people for a while, admiring the scene. Then Cui Shiwan walked over and said something, and the person placed the guitar in her hands.
A beautiful woman played the guitar well, and her voice was captivating. Soon, a crowd gathered around.
Cui Shiwan waved to Wan, signaling her to come over.
Lou Junxuan also walked in, when suddenly someone shoved him, and he watched helplessly as Xiang Wan was pushed forward by the crowd. By the time he reached Cui Shiwan, Xiang Wan was nowhere to be seen.
Cui Shiwan was still singing, and only a few idle people remained in the square, along with Lou Junxuan and the singer who had started playing the guitar. It was as if the previous commotion had never happened.
Lou Junxuan searched anxiously around the square, but to no avail. He had never felt the square so empty before.
Cui Shiwan appeared beside him at some point and asked, "I looked up and you were all gone. Where's Kevin? Where did he go?"
The panic that gripped his entire body seemed to have found an outlet. Lou Junxuan stared intently at Cui Shiwan. If his gaze could turn into blades, Cui Shiwan would probably be riddled with holes by now.
The latter looked completely bewildered and asked again, "Junxuan, what's wrong with you? Why are you looking at me like that?"
Lou Junxuan didn't speak, but turned his head to look at the night sky, his dark eyes were frighteningly deep.
"It's late, let's go back."
Cui Shiwan followed behind him without saying another word, a cold smile curling at the corner of her lips.
Separated from the crowd, Xiang Wan grabbed the man's wrist as his mouth and nose were covered with a cotton cloth, and very cooperatively followed them to a black van around the corner.
