Chapter 560 The Tribulations of the Mortal World (Part Nine)

"Alone, you dare to trespass on my Green Wind Mountain! Monk, you have quite the nerve."

Black Tiger sat in the head seat, wearing a tiger-skin vest, with a group of leaders standing behind him.

This was the formation Yan Zhen set up for Xiang Wan, intended to deter people like her who deliberately came to challenge her.

Xiang Wan raised her eyes, scanned the bandit leaders, and finally fixed her gaze on the second-in-command standing next to Black Tiger. She said meaningfully, "Amitabha, this humble monk has courage but no heart, while those with affinity have heart but no courage. They have both heart and courage, but alas, their minds are clouded and their eyes are blinded. It is a pity, lamentable, and tragic."

No one understood, and they all thought Xiang Wan was faking it.

In fact, Xiang Wan was indeed faking it; someone who could be seen through so easily couldn't be a monk.

Yan Zhen's heart stirred, and he said, "Monk, my Qingfeng Village has been established for at least a dozen years. If we didn't have any ability, how could we have developed to this point? No matter what you're after, since you've entered my village, you must abide by my rules. Thirty-six caves, twenty-eight arrows. If you survive, you and the person behind you will be sent away the same way you came. Otherwise, don't blame us for being ruthless."

They spoke with such conviction, as if these bandits truly knew how to do it.

Black Tiger and the others glanced sideways, somewhat confused by Yan Zhen's tactics. When did their Green Wind Mountain introduce such a rule? How come they didn't know about it?

However, Xiang Wan was the only one who dared to break into the bandits' den and walk safely to them. Others might want this rule, but they simply didn't have it.

Everyone remained silent, supporting Yan Zhen's decision.

That's their second-in-command. How could they undermine their own people?

“Monk, what my second brother said is exactly what I said. Qingfeng Mountain is not a place you can just trespass on as you please.”

As soon as Black Tiger finished speaking, the surrounding bandits stood up and drew their swords at Xiang Wan.

It's just a show of force; I'm not afraid of the evening.

With her hands clasped together and her eyes gleaming, she said, “Why not? No matter how many difficult questions you ask, this humble monk will accept them. But there is one condition: if the second-in-command can answer one question for this humble monk, everyone can descend the mountain unharmed.”

Oh ho, threatening bandits now? Interesting.

Not only did these bandits think so, but even Shui Yuntian suspected that Xiang Wan was tired of living.

If the goal was to raid a bandit's hideout, Shui Yuntian would absolutely not team up with this monk. He was courting death; he didn't want to be dragged down with him.

"Young in age, but boastful. Even if I had to answer a hundred of your questions, I wouldn't be able to live this long."

Yan Zhen lowered his eyes slightly and gave a signal, at which point six bandits with knives rushed towards Wan and surrounded her.

Shui Yuntian wanted to break out of the encirclement, but Xiang Wan wouldn't let him have his way.

"Amitabha, you have committed murder. You deserted your post in the face of battle. Buddha will not forgive you."

"You stinking monk, don't drag me down with you if you're looking to die. I won't do anything to you now that you've spared me from starvation."

“Amitabha Buddha, you are speaking the truth. Rest assured, your master will not do as you wish.”

With a wave of her hand, Xiang Wan pulled Shui Yuntian in front of her and slapped his pressure points a few times.

"In that case, let's die together!"

Six bandits joined forces and slashed at Wan and Shui Yuntian with their broadswords.

Shui Yuntian's inner strength had not recovered, but his skills remained. Facing the large sword that was about to strike him, he didn't even blink, dodging it to the side and easily snatching the weapon away.

Now that he had a weapon, Shui Yuntian not only slashed at the bandits, but also seized every opportunity to strike Xiang Wan. The angle and force were designed to kill her.

You can tell whether someone has killed anyone by looking at their eyes and their fighting posture.

The ferocity in the eyes of the bandits who besieged her was undeniable.

To kill a man, you must first destroy his spirit; to capture a thief, you must first capture his leader.

While Shui Yuntian was dealing with the bandits, Xiang Wan approached one of the bandits, grabbed his wrist, and used his knife to push aside the bandit in front of her. A large knife flew towards Hei Hu.

With a clang, Black Tiger pulled out the double blades from behind him and used them to deflect the large sword.

"Monk, it seems you have no intention of following the rules!" Before Black Tiger could speak, Yan Zhen preemptively said.

"I just counted, and there are thirty-six wounds from swinging the broadsword. If the second-in-command doesn't believe me, he can have them stop and count again."

Xiang Wan kicked the bandit in front of her away, blocked Shui Yuntian's sneak attack, and quickly pinned him to the spot again.

Shui Yuntian's face burned like an eggplant color. His sneak attack in full view of everyone failed, and he was even frozen in place by the monk's actions. He wasn't a statue; his pride couldn't take it.

Xiang Wan ignored him and turned to Black Tiger, saying, "Amitabha, when will the next twenty-eight arrows begin, benefactor?"

Black Tiger was exasperated with the bandits Xiang Wan had defeated. Six men ganged up on one and a half (Shui Yuntian counted as half), and instead of injuring anyone, they were injured themselves. How could he, the leader of Qingfeng Village, possibly save face?

"Big brother, I'll do it!"

An unassuming man stepped forward, his steps steady and powerful, his gaze resolute. He gripped a bronze bow in both hands, his thumbs calloused, clearly a skilled archer.

"Fourth brother?"

"Don't worry, I know what I'm doing."

This is the fourth leader. He usually keeps a low profile, but his archery skills are among the best in the entire Southern Moon Kingdom.

A man of his talent, instead of seeking a job in the army, chose to become an outlaw here. Needless to say, this is another heartbreaking story.

Xiang Wan intended to finish the matter quickly, so he stood still and said, "Benefactor, it is pitiful that you have no way to repay my kindness. If you can hit my disciple within a hundred meters, your future will be limitless."
