Chapter 576 Alien Battlefield (Part 1)

"Run!"

"Help!"

"This way, quick!"

Before Xiang Wan could even open her eyes, she heard a series of deafening screams all around her. Someone grabbed her arm, and she stumbled, almost falling flat on her face.

"Hurry, it'll be too late if we wait any longer."

Without even seeing who was beside her, Xiang Wan was pulled forward by her.

As she ran quickly, Xiang Wan got a clear look at her surroundings.

Panicked crowds, concrete buildings collapsed by violence, and severed limbs scattered all over the ground.

Fear, panic, helplessness, and despair filled everyone's eyes.

"Hurry up, we need to find a place to hide."

The girl who pulled her along was short-haired and very thin, looking to be only about ten years old. She was probably the original owner's companion.

Xiang Wan pushed off with her feet and ran until she reached a dilapidated high-rise building, where she sensed something was wrong. She suddenly stopped, and the girl, unable to brake in time, rushed forward a few steps. Before she could stop, a long, pungent, fishy-smelling tongue suddenly emerged from around the corner, swiftly sweeping the girl into the air before disappearing behind the building.

Xiang Wan was startled and wanted to save the girl, but then she heard a deafening crunching sound. Looking around the corner from close to the wall, she saw a lizard taller than a three-story building, its mouth opening and closing, instantly chewing the person to pieces and swallowing them whole. Its massive, protruding teeth gleamed coldly, and saliva dripped onto the ground, instantly corroding several large holes.

The sheer size of this monster was indescribable, creating a sense of oppression. Moreover, after devouring the girl, the lizard didn't flee; instead, it crouched down, its vertical eyes slightly narrowed, as if waiting for its next prey to come to it.

Xiang Wan held her breath, quietly moved her feet backward, and slowly slipped away from the corner of the wall to a place far away from the lizard.

In the blink of an eye, the people who had scattered and fled had vanished without a trace, and the surroundings were quiet. Xiang Wan guessed that they had all found a place to hide.

She moved slowly, her palms already sweating.

This damn system abruptly threw her into such a dangerous world without even a word of warning, and didn't seem to care that she might die before she even got started, or that her heart couldn't take the shock and she'd just kick the bucket.

In short, she made a mental note of this debt and would make the system pay for it sooner or later.

Walking quietly for half an hour, we finally managed to get away from the building that the lizards had used as an ambush point. Around the corner was a slope. On both sides of the slope were large shopping malls and underground shopping centers.

The surroundings were eerily quiet, with only a faint, fishy smell carried by the wind.

Xiang Wan took a few quick steps and slipped into a nearby shopping mall. Just as she stood with her back against a corner, she saw a huge head peering into the mall.

It was a snake's head, as tall as a building, and golden in color. Its vertical eyes were scanning everywhere, and its forked tongue was constantly moving up and down. If it weren't for the glass, it probably would have struck Xiang Wan.

In such an emergency, Xiang Wan had no time to do anything. She closed her eyes, tried her best to hold her breath, and slowed her heartbeat down as much as possible.

Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang—

The faint breathing sound was still there, and the rustling of the snake's tongue sweeping through the air was still present.

Bang—bang—

The slight air movement lasted for a while before finally subsiding completely.

Slowly opening my eyes, I saw that the snake was no longer visible outside the glass.

call--

Xiang Wan collapsed to the ground. Having experienced countless worlds since her transmigration, she hadn't encountered such a dangerous scene in several lifetimes. It was truly unforgettable, and she was burning with rage.

However, now is not the time to nitpick the system.

The mall was in complete disarray as people scattered and fled; counters and light fixtures were mostly smashed.

Further inside, bright red bloodstains and drag marks were visible everywhere. The escalator had long since stopped, and the body of a security guard, broken in two, lay there quietly, his blood already congealed and blackened.

Just as Xiang Wan was about to walk up the stairs, she heard a series of hurried footsteps coming from upstairs, rushing towards her.

Upon reaching the stairs, the man saw her and shouted, "Run! A giant beast is coming!"

The person practically ran down the stairs and disappeared as soon as they turned around.

The clattering sound grew louder as it approached; without even looking, one could tell it was a large machine.

Xiang Wan turned and ran, following the route the man had taken, speeding all the way.

She had suffered an undeserved misfortune. However, the fact that the man reminded her showed that he wasn't a bad person; it just so happened that she happened to be on his way.

At this moment, Xiang Wan realized that the body she had transmigrated into belonged to a child of about ten years old. No matter how she moved her legs, she could not reach the speed she wanted.

After mentally ranting about the system once again, Xiang Wan decided it would be better to find a place to hide first.

The commotion behind them grew louder and louder. A quick glance revealed that it was an enormous centipede.

Centipede!

Wherever there's a climbing surface, it can traverse the sky and the earth with ease. It can sense even the slightest movement through its feet and tentacles. And, it's poisonous!

Even small centipedes are ferocious, let alone one this big!

They moved so quickly and were so active. Who the hell said centipedes don't come out during the day?

As Xiang Wan ran faster, the screeching sound of those sharp feet landing behind her grew more urgent and closer.

Seeing that her legs couldn't overpower the giant centipede, and unable to find a foothold, Xiang Wan was drenched in sweat. She didn't want to die so soon after arriving here.
