"Don't mind him, his name is Jean, and he's the captain of our group. He's usually very sarcastic, but I didn't expect you to make him suffer as soon as you arrived. It's really satisfying. My name is Rose, and these guys are Ivan, Takagi, Cass, Morsen, and Charles."
Rose, being quick-witted and straightforward, gave Xiang Wan a brief introduction, and that was how they got to know each other.
Judging from their names, Ivan is Russian, Takagi is Japanese, Cass is Spanish, Mosen is Iranian, and Charles is American. But on Earth, national boundaries have long since disappeared.
Earth is one family, with a common leader. The selection of those to live on Red Star was based entirely on the principle of voluntariness. They may be of mixed race from several ethnicities and countries, but so what? They are now all abandoned by Earth's leader; what difference does it make which region or ethnicity they belong to?
"Lassie, how did you and George manage to escape the giant beast's attack?"
Rose asked curiously, and the others also turned their attention to her.
"luck."
Rose: "..."

Charles interrupted the interaction between Rose and Xiang Wan, much to the relief of the woman who had been asking for a hug. Xiang Wan could see the regret and dissatisfaction in her eyes and couldn't help but find it amusing.
"The giant beasts all come from the west, and we are from the east. If we go any further east, we will probably reach the other side of the Red Star, where we will only freeze to death. At present, the places we can find to hide are getting fewer and fewer, and we cannot move at night. If this continues, we will only end up being devoured by the giant beasts."
"There are mountains to the north; perhaps we can go there to hide for a while."
"No, the mountains and forests have always been the domain of animals. If we go in, it's no different from courting death."
"Then east?"

Takagi was cautious, his eyes filled with vigilance, and he even began to suspect that Xiang Wan might be a lifelike robot, just to lure them into becoming experimental subjects.
He had this idea because he himself had the idea of experimenting on human bodies, but he hadn't had time to carry it out when the giant beasts attacked.
Xiang Wan didn't have a good impression of him, but when it came to his knowledge of animals, probably no one was more professional than him.
When the conditions aren't right, his audacity remains just a thought. But if the conditions are right, Xiang Wan believes he will be the first to implement it. A mad scientist can bring unexpected benefits to humanity, or he can bring catastrophic disaster; this is why people both love and hate him.
However, if guided properly, the benefits outweigh the drawbacks.
Therefore, Xiang Wan certainly didn't want him to die in the jaws of the giant beast.
